If Satan was trying to defeat God, he wouldn't allow his kingdom to be torturous and painful. If Satan were strategic, he would treat his followers decently and try to form a massive, loyal army. If Satan's ultimate goal is to take overtake God's throne, the last thing we would want to do is create a horrible Hell.

That would be true if Satan really cared. Do you think he really cares for you or anyone else? Really? Good luck with that reasoning. You have swallowed the common perception that Hell is a place of physical torture. When relating the place, what words would you use to describe it? Of course, you would use a physical description, and spirit is not physical. Hell is eternal separation from the One source of all that is good. If eternal separation from God is what you want there is no blaming God for your decision. You will be given what you demand. Any good may be given by your own supposed godhood. "On the day you eat you will not surely die. Your eyes will be opened and you will be as gods." Again, good luck with that. Satan did not prepare Hell for his loyal servants. That place of separation was prepared by God, as far away from him as it can possibly be and all in response to your desire to have nothing to do with him. Satan is just another false, powerless god.

He isn't the ruler, Satan rules over nothing.
-
If god is all knowing and all powerful why would anyone fight him? He would know satans plan before satan did and since he's all powerful he can destroy satan with a thought. The upcoming "end of days" wasn't really thought out

1 RispondiHe's got demons, you know. Lots of demons. That's why God made Keanu Reeves.

GOD is a lie created by a sect of Jews banished from their city they LITERALLY came up with monotheism (having one god instead of many) and funnily enough in the religion they CREATED (that later was stripped down and added to by other faiths) there is no hell yep you heard me folks no hell there's heaven and there's purgatory but NO HELL it was added later to the Christian faith to keep followers loyal and out of trouble.

W-what? Lucifer isn't trying to defeat god. So that whole post is pretty silly

19 RisposteYou are mistaken. Satan hates all of God's creations, including and especially humanity. Everything he does is aimed towards tormenting God through hurting and misleading humanity, by convincing them to commit acts of evil. When the souls of the evil are sent to hell, there they continue to be tormented by Satan and his minions. He cannot stand against God, the fact that he has been forever condemned and trapped in hell is proof of that. So he tortures souls to get back at God.

2 RisposteThe war isn't waged in hell though. I mean if you go to hell you're done. Him and his pals have got you for ever. On earth though that's where the conflict is. Based on my understanding he would love it if people thought he didn't exist. It would be so much easier to trap people and get them to feel comfortable with evil if they didnt believe it existed or if they got to pick what was evil to them. Kind of an interesting perspective though and clever IMO. What is a fundamental Christian anyway.
inb4postdisregard
Modificato da Progo: 8/23/2014 8:05:49 PMkek According to Saint John, the Deceiver is thrown into hell as a prisoner to be tortured. He doesn't rule anything there. Not to mention he has gaolers that are far more powerful than him... What he actually has influence over, according to Christian Theology, is the physical universe. And so long as the physical universe is separated from God by the presence of sin, Satan is the big bad mob boss on the block.
This is how, in Christian reasoning, bad things can happen despite God being the supreme deity that he is. It's also supposedly our training ground as a race, since being able to be either good or evil puts us on par with the angels, one third of which sided with The Dragon, separating the loyal from the disloyal.

Further note, the Revelation of John is treated as a prophetic vision with many meanings, some people think the first few events of the prophecy have already occurred, others say they will be happening in a thousand years, even others think that John was watching it in real time
In a not too distant future: "I have looked upon your life in great detail, and have found you to be worthy. I'm sure you are just as happy to hear this as I am to say this. Welcome to Heaven, dear Alexander. You may pass beyond the pearly gates now," Saint Peter declared Alexander watched in awe as the great gate that stood seemingly infinitely tall opened for him to pass through. With eyes tearing, he looked upon his own personal paradise. Wide expansive fields of beauty, a forest in the distance holding untold stories and treasure, and his wife and children were playing in the fields together. He choked up at the sight. Then, he heard Saint Peter speak again, "My God, what is that on the edge of the clouds?" He turned and beheld what looked like a cloud of black and red. As it approached and details became more apparent, it was people; only not quite so. The people were red, black, deformed, and angry. They held murderous and cruel weapons that seemed more intent to maim than kill. "Go on, child, get beyond the gates to safety!" Peter called, compelling Alexander to run to defend his family beyond the gates. The gates slammed shut just in time for the cloud to ram into it full force. The gate held against the first slam, but began to buckle. Saint Peter quickly moved his hands in strange configurations before thrusting his right hand up, a great blue cross materializing in the air. Angels began forming from the clouds, fully clad in armor and hold great spears, swords, and shields. The great mass of red turned angrily at these newcomers built to defend their home and roared. The great torrential roar shook the clouds and earth itself as billions of voices called out at once. The angels answered not with words, but with celestial steal. Each swipe brought multiple horrid vengeful spirits to their knees, driving them back down through the cloud cover. Saint Peter called out into the onslaught, "What is the meaning of this? Who are you!?" All at once the fighting stopped. The red cloud began to part to reveal its epicenter. In the middle, clad entirely in black armor stood a great figure. he held a giant key in his hands. "Oh, Saint Peter," the figure rumbled, "Do you not recognize me? Do you not understand what is going on?" "Lucifer!" Peter exclaimed. "Allow me to open your eyes to fate you and the rest of your pathetic kingdom shall be doomed to..." He declared, marching upon the door. Angels dove forth trying to stop him, but his army of demonic spirits was too thick to penetrate. He touched the key to the gate, opening them effortlessly. "I'm going to have a word with the man upstairs... I dare you to say otherwise."

But I'm an atheist.

Revelation 20:1-10 It seems more like satan is going to prison for a thousand years, being set free then being tossed into a place of sulfur and fire by force.

Okay. What's your point?
-
In what Christian doctrine is satan ruler of hell?
-
Satan just tortures Saddam's heart :(
-
2 RisposteI'm just gonna stick with the theory that satan is a big angry fire dragon ridden by lucifer.
-
That's what I've always thought... Why would you be punished for your sins if Lucifer himself is ruler of the underworld. Wouldn't you be rewarded for the terrible things you've done if you went to hell? Unless of course it's set up to be amazing, but have a downside to it. Like... you can have any woman you want anytime you want for as long as you want, but there'es no condoms and you can't pull out. Meaning everytime you have sex there's always a child and you can't get rid of it.
-
It's better this way.

Modificato da Aegis: 8/23/2014 7:48:53 PMI could just imagine being in hell. I would be the most annoying bitch ever satan would throw me out. Whys it so hot? Wheres the video games? I'm bored

God's the bastard, Lucifer saved us.

Only thing I wanna see is a epic battle of divine proportions. I Disregard everything else though

12 RisposteNo shit, Sherlock. God created hell and it's God that damns people to punishment. Satan does not rule hell, but he does try to get as many people to end up there as he possibly can.

1 RispondiThe ending battle between Good and Evil will be epic.
