Barilla says they would never use a homosexual couple in ads. Rage ensues.

Eh gay groups are just looking for something to get offended by. He never said it was wrong or you shouldn't do it, it just doesnt fit their image. Looks like I'll be buying Barilla now to combat this silly boycott.

I can understand his point in some ways, does the Dolmio advert having some fanatical gay rights activist in the family? No, it has a family, with the mother cooking the meal, it gives a sense of old traditional values, and connotes a quickly home made product rather than a factory line product with no love to it. I haven't heard of these guys at all, nor have I seen any of their adverts, but still, I can at least understand slightly that he may mean he doesn't want to use the whole gay family approach just to be different and gt some publicity via his ads. Otherwise, he could just be homophobic and what everybody assumes by what he said could be true.

I don't see why this makes the lgbt community mad, it isn't like they are denying them food or jobs, just that they won't be making a commercial with gay couples. Who cares.

On the plus side for gays. Has anyone seen the uniform for Germany's team in the Russian Winter Olympics? They are wearing the gay pride colours. And then stating that it isn't a stand against the anti-gay laws in Russia.

And OP, if you can't stomach a picture which has two same sex couples appearing in a single frame ... how did you cope when your uncles/brothers walked into the kitchen at the same time ... honestly? Not even brave enough to ask what happened during school after sport/gym when you all had to shower? Or is it in your mind that same sex couples simply have to strip off and get some jiggy on at first sight? What I do love though, is that the small minded fools who make this type of comment have no idea that they have most likely have already had homosexual individuals (acting as couples - on one or both sides) in the past, and paid them and the production company (who may also have had homosexuals working for them).

If I make a shoe lace repair store, I have every right to operate it the way I see fit. If I have an opinion I have every damn right to say it.
