I think Halo 4 wasn't so bad. I think lots of people think just because Halo 4 wasn't made by Bungie, it's bad. Although I could be wrong. If you actually think it was bad, for a legitimate reason, please explain. See you in the comments :)

I vote for: I donn't like the game because of how it played, the story, the unneeded changes, the bad MM, the bad story.

1 Rispondi
lots of people think just because Halo 4 wasn't made by Bungie, it's bad. Although I could be wrong.
You are. People hated it because they felt it was absolute shite. The argument stating that people only disliked it because it wasn't made by Bungie, in my experience, is used only by absolute shitstains that we tend to refer to as 343 fanboys.

2 RisposteThere was once a sheep named Reach who strayed a little from her heard, but always stayed near. Reach had a baby whose father raised him to follow the popular heard of sheep. That sheep, named 4, wondered off into the heard of generic sheep, who all ran off a cliff into a wolf's den. And that wolf's name was CoD.

Like a lot of people I don't like the fact that there was such a huge change in gameplay. From ordinance, to keeping the AA and custom loadouts. As much as I was unsatisfied with Reach I thought the loadouts were done better because it was a set class instead of customizable (but I prefer zero loadouts and the more classic area shooter feel of the other Halos). Also, I hate the stories 343 are telling and their art direction. To me it feels like a bad imitation of Halo or "how do we avoid copyright infringement but copy Halo?" We I see a lot of the designs of characters I cannot relate to them, especially Master Chief. Yes, his armor may seem more "practical" but it looks like a knock off of Chief and I don't see humans a character I've known and loved. For story, I can't even follow it anymore. To me Halo was relatively a straight forwards story that encompassed an entire universe and it worked. Yes, you need to change things up to expand the universe but I don't get where 343 is going with half their stories. I replayed the campaign and enjoyed it for the most part up until the Didact and Librarian appeared, from there I was reminded why I disliked 343. For one I absolutely hated the Forerunner saga stuff. The Forerunners were supposed to be largely mysterious but they're getting rid of that aspect now (basically I see it like Star Wars fans finding out the Force is midichlorians). Also Elite terrorists? It seems like they saw fan reaction to fighting Elites again in Reach and were like "we need to do that too!" I know I'm in the minority for all this stuff and there are plenty of fans who love the stories 343 are telling, and I totally respect those people. In fact I'm jealous of those people who are so accepting because they can continue to like the franchise while I remain jaded and resistant to change. I am going to get the next game but I am going in with extreme caution and not going to be blinded by my love for the franchise like I did for 4.

I couldn't care less that 343 made Halo 4. It sucked along with Reach. Although Reach just sucked less.
-
It's not bad, but it has it's problems. I can deal with it.
-
Love it.

I would vote in the poll, but neither of the two options are why I hate Halo 4 and 343i. Overall I like the way the game plays, and at worst am just ok with multiplayer (would need more tweaks for me to really enjoy it as much as Halo 3 or Reach). The whole entire reason why I hate the game and 343i is because of their story and nothing else.

I was really disappointed with the game as a whole. The campaign was far too linear. It was a pretty decent story in regards to the Master Chief and Cortana ( even though I have issues with that too ) But in terms of engaging gameplay, it fell really short. Especially when compared to what was seen in H3. The Litch was worse than the H2 Scarab fight, and considering the time between development and tech advances....we should have seen a lot more innovative gameplay. They added all these cool AA's ( which I dislike for the most part in MM, but I see that they could be used to enhance the SP ) and yet, a scene when the Jetpack, or Thruster Pack could have been introduced, we get a series of QTE's. The game design just feels lazy to me, ( Take that Ellis! ) a rushed game that should have had a year more development, but was pushed out to try and make as much money as possible against BO2. Lot's of focus on pretty graphics and "story" and not nearly enough focus on interesting gameplay, or ways to increase the replay value. Shutdown was so mindnumbingly dull in 4 player Coop, especially after following Reach and the Air combat that was shown in Reach, that it seemed like no thought was put into what would make a Coop campaign experience fun. I think 343 take themselves and Halo a bit too seriously. H4 lacks a sort of "playfulness" that the franchise had with Bungie. Or maybe they don't and I just think their sense of playfulness is lame, compared to Bungie. After seeing how low grade the customs in H4 are...the only sort of playfulness added to H4 is the fact that the Mantis can victory crouch.

I liked the idea of Halo 4 until 343 started to release all the crap they had prepare for it, that's when I realized Halo 4 was gonna be bad and it was the first time I didn't bought a Halo game and I never regreted it.

Four words
the campaign sucked ass
3 RisposteOrdnance, Perks, Crappy Armor, downgraded forge/theater/customs, crappy characters and story, loadouts, crap maps, Less gametypes and classics don't return, no human air, pay for cosmetic ideas that SHOULD have been the game. That's a start. Halo 4 = Sup Par Halo

1 RispondiCampaign was amazing, but.... Multiplayer went way to fast, WAY to easy to get promoted and it didn't have that hooked in halo 3 gameplay... Eventually once you hit the big 130. It was pointless to me, i mean at times when im in the mood its quite fun playing alone or a couple of spartan ops with strangers. But it got to the point where if you wernt in a community or just with a group of friends... Very boring.

I actually hate Halo 4, I'm not jumping on any bandwagon or hate it because it wasn't made by Bungie, though IMO I think Bungie did a WAY better job with Halo. The lack of a skill based ranking system, custom loadouts, perks, ordinance drops, random power weapon spawns, shitty maps, and unbalanced gameplay. In a nutshell that's what's really made stop playing Halo 4 in about a month. Also 343s presentation at the GDC was pretty much the last straw. I could go on but I don't feel like typing multiple paragraphs, so I kept it short.
-
It got boring.

2 RisposteThey tried to make Halo like CoD, reach was the first step, this took it a step further. Both are the worst games in the Halo franchise at least multiplayer wise. Halo is not CoD and shouldn't try to be. Ranking system is needed in this game, Halo was at the top for competitive gaming and these last 2 games were just stupid. The game is also incredibly boring after 3 matches. Spawn, run, shoot, die, instaspawn, run, kill guy whose shields havent fully replenished, what a joke

Modificato da JLx24: 9/19/2013 3:59:45 PMNonexistent vehicular combat in 4v4 games is what killed it for me. Also, with how they implemented weapons spawns, map control is pretty pointless. I really don't know why more people didn't play legendary slayer, that playlist was almost perfect; all they needed to do was add some larger 4v4 maps with a vehicle or two. I still like the game, just less than any other halo.
-
4 Risposte>asks people why they don't like halo 4 >ex halo fanboys say "IT PLAYS LIKE CoD!!!111!!!" >watches gameplay of halo 4 and CoD >they look nothing alike > O_o
-
i didnt like it because the end instead of haveing a firefight or hand to hand with the diadact you just stick a nade to him tooo anti climatic
-
Where's the 'I freakin loved it' option?:(
-
because they suck at it.
-
Mainly because Halo 4's gameplay is different to the original trilogy. Whether that's a good or bad thing depends on who you ask. I personally loved it.

If 343 reinvented the Arena Shooter (Like Halo is meant to be played) instead of emulating other popular shooters (See: CoD) by putting in classes and unlockables. Even Reach (Which often gets a lot of hate) had everything equal since it was a small amount of options that were available to everybody. It varied the gameplay a bit, but it was still fundamentally an equal playing field. 4 took it off the deep end by making Armors Mods and whatnot that often lead to an unequal playing field, which in turn made 343 change classic Halo characteristics making it even more unpopular. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, it's just not a good Halo game.

1 RispondiModificato da Cobravert: 9/19/2013 1:22:45 PMI have NEVER cared who the developer of any given game was, but ONLY how good/fun a game was. Unless we're talking about EA... But Halo 4 just did not give me what I wanted in multiplayer enough to make me care or want to go back and play it anymore. Better than Reach in a ton of ways, but not the successor to Halo 3 that I expected. Liked the campaign, but that was about it.
