Will the Halo series continue on the Xbox 360?
Or is it over, and going to only continue on the Xbox One?

It will only be on the Xbox One. Halo is a system seller. If you can get this experience you want on the current console you have, there is no reason to go and buy this new one, that Microsoft WANTS you to buy. System sellers, must buys, they're going to be exclusives.

Probably not. Halo 3 didn't come out for the original Xbox, I don't see the next Halo doing the same.

5 RisposteCompletely relevant here, but Dark Souls 2 is staying on the 360. Currently Dark Souls has more sway than Halo can muster. So I s'pose I'll be out of the loop for the "next-gen" stuff for a few years. Back on track, no.

1 RispondiIt's over By the time the untitled Halo game and Halo comes out the Xbox One will already be out. Since this is their new system they want people to buy it. One of the ways is making their exclusive games only on that new system. When you make you exclusive on both your older and newer system. You are giving the people with the older one no reason to make the switch. Halo is their biggest exclusive so it makes sense for them to drop the 360 in favor for the Xbox One. Look at the Xbox. It was still being supported until it was disconnected around 2009 or 10. Since the release of Halo 2 in 2004 it had some years left in it until it was shutdown. But there was no Halo games made for that system. The same thing will happen with the 360.

3 RisposteAlthough there is no evidence that Halo [i]isn't[/i] going to continue on Xbox 360, it won't. Microsoft needs the traction and funds that Halo brings to the table to allow Xbox Live to run properly on the One.

Considering that halo 3 wasn't put out on the xbox i doubt the same will happen for the next halo games. You have to think of it from a business standpoint. moving halo is going to have more people buy the console and have them buy other console games despite what anyone else is going to admit. Keeping it on the 360 means a lot of people won't buy the 1 if they think the games are coming out on both platforms myself included.

The next Halo is "Halo Xbox One". I doubt it will be on Xbox 360. The game won't be coming out till 2014. No way they are releasing two major games for the same franchise at the same time. They seem to be following a 2 year design plan, so the next game after Halo Xbox One will most likely be in 2016. That's three years after the Xbox One comes out. I doubt they will support the Xbox 360 for future games. It's a safe bet that Halo 4 was that last game for Xbox 360.
