Reduce quitting inControl

Lower the Mercy rate. 70 points is too much. If games aren't going to be even remotely balanced. You may not have as many Mercies but people now just quit instead. Thats your fault for trying to protect stats instead of the player base. Do right by the players you have left finally fix this.

  • People will still quit, unfortunately. I've seen players leave when we're down by 2 points. Literally. And if they feel they're not getting the best of other players, they will still back out. You're absolutely right though.

Do right by the players you have left finally fix this.[/quote] This is by design the games are predetermined by the equity algorithm to keep you in that 45-55 win % range Hasn’t ever dawned on you that one game you can’t miss and the next you can’t hit -blam!-, that bungie has its thumb on the scale

      • LoL NO, If Bungie doesn’t care enough to turn off lobby balancing then I don’t care enough to stay with a team who can’t leave the spawn. It’s not about protecting stats. Staying in a lop sided game that can’t leave the spawn isn’t fun.

        • Man all I want is if one team has half the players of the other team end it there. A game should not continue if one team does not have enough players to fight back. And for the love of everything stop loading me into matches 2 points from a mercy, or even worse already in one. I do not want matchmaking time and then loading time wasted just so I can fire 2 bullets and get kicked to orbit, I loaded into -blam!- pvp to shoot guardians not play 70% of starfield. Load me into matches in progress fine, but I want at least 5 minutes of shooting guardians out of it.

          • People will still quit. Players quit out early in the match often when the first engagement is lost for the neutral zone. Then it's playing an uphill battle, and 2 more quit... spots are filled midway, but they have no clue at the state of the game and have nothing to fight with. Changing the mercy rule won't help, since players are quitting long before even that would even take effect. They feel the game is already lost by the time 20 points are even on the board.

            • Too late to start caring about players. That was 6 years ago and is LONG past. There are not enough players in the game now, let alone PVP. They should focus efforts on making the core game fun and enjoyable. That may bring players into the game and more players overall = more players available to try PVP. Since the game is mainly PVE, if that is broken, there is no way you can keep enough players in game to satisfy any quota for PVP to be fair and balanced.

              • I saw last week that people quit because of the map ?! Now people quit due who’s in the other players . The player pool is shrinking and leaving the full time die hards left ….I’m amazed they still pump in 20 games a day ?! Pure addicts ! Most will move over to marathon to check out . Quitting just messes the flow big time ….i know people get disconnected but they are people who rage quit or get upset 🤷🏼‍♂️🙄😂

                  • There needs to be a scaler for short manned games. 5v6, keep it at 50 4v6, 40 point mercy 3v6, 30 point mercy 2v6, 20 point mercy 1v6, just end the game already. But there should be a window of 30-50 seconds to allow for reconnections and back fills. Also, the point spread for the short manned team winning should stay at 50 to avoid manipulating the system for wins.

                  • There is a method to reduce quitting in control… Bungie needs to implement a proper Team Balancing after selecting 12 player lobby (aka Snake Draft). But instead they use their own Team Balancing formula that makes very little sense and only leads to blowouts (aka frequent player quitting). And also… Bungie needs to use proper SBMM parameters for control type games. Using just KDs or winning % is not good enough. For example… When a player has a high KD but doesn’t capture any flags, or doesn’t resets flags in order to avoid dying… then that player is NOT a good teammate. He or she focuses only on getting his/her kills and doesn’t care about the overall team score, which subsequently leads to blowouts… And if you have multiple players like that on your team while the opposing team does everything the right way (capturing flags, resetting them) not only those players get their kills / assists, but they easily control the entire match from start to finish (games like that are frequent blowouts). In summation 👉 Bungie needs to use objective-oriented SBMM & snake draft Team Balancing formula for control type games.

                    • When games get out of hand, the best way to save face is everyone camp spawn and teamshoot everyone you see. Might not win but they will have awful stats for attempting to steam roll.

                        Not disagreeing with you but, if my recent experience is anything to go by, a lot of those people aren't quitting, they are getting anteater errors kicking them out. If I'm lucky, it will rejoin me to the match (resetting my ability and super to zero in the process). Since Renegades, I'd say this is probably happening to me in 1 out of 4 matches. Bungie would no doubt tell me to check my connection but my connection is as good as ever. They've either changed something their side and/or it's a consequence of the drastically lower player population therefore being more thinly spread.

                          It’s absolutely wild in your last 9 games you one had close game and 8 mercies pretty much. Balanced matchmaking to its finest but yeah 70 points is too much now with how pvp is so needs to change.
