I'm sorry, but I need to get this off my chest. As someone who's been invested in Destiny since the very beginning—since the days of Destiny 1—this latest seasonal content is the final straw.
The new activity with the health-cap mechanic? It’s not challenging, it’s just frustrating. Artificial difficulty that drags encounters out without adding any real depth. PvP? Somehow even worse than before, thanks to the unnecessary buffs that have thrown balance completely off. And the new dungeon? It doesn't feel engaging or rewarding, just another forgettable addition.
But what really gets me is the time-gating. You promised to move away from it, yet here we are again—another desperate attempt to stretch out shallow content, hoping to keep what’s left of the player base engaged. It’s beyond transparent at this point. Bungie, just admit it: Destiny 2 is running on fumes, and you’ve run out of ideas.
And then there are the bugs. Endless, game-breaking bugs. Weapon perks not working, abilities failing to activate properly, enemies behaving unpredictably, and mechanics that just straight-up don’t function as intended. Every patch seems to fix one thing while breaking five others. How does a live-service game this old still have so many basic issues? It’s exhausting.
What makes it even worse is that I’ve tried to bring my IRL friends into the game. I’ve spent years convincing people to give Destiny a shot, hoping to share the experience with them. But every time, they take one look at the price tags—the expansions, the season passes, the microtransactions—and they refuse. And honestly? I can’t even blame them. Destiny has become nothing more than a money dump, a game that demands constant investment just to keep up. I’ve defended it for so long, but I can’t anymore.
I’ve poured years into this game, trying to bring friends along for the ride, hoping for that spark that made Destiny special to return. But I’m burnt out. Done. I uninstalled the game, and I’m never coming back.
This isn’t anger. It’s exhaustion.

See you in 4 months.

2 RisposteModificato da Roach: 2/13/2025 6:51:52 AMI get it, enjoy whatever you find to replace Destiny. I quite like the new seasonal stuff, but I can see why others do not. And you are spot on about the bugs, the bugs in this game are ridiculous. Every Episode has been bugged, and with the story dialogue missing in Revenant, for me, that's a new low. That's ain integral part of your game. But hey, Eververse got some new pointless tat with these stupid trails .. so there's that. The new Game Director is taking the game in a direction that most don't like. And that's not an opinion, look how many players have moved on since Final Shape, and it's a fact that over 90% have bailed. I run a small business and if that happened to me I would be making eight people redundant. But seeing as I treat ALL my customers as THE most important part of my business I am doing pretty good. There's a lesson there. Bungie just do not get it, listening has never been their strong point but now they seem incapable of seeing what is right in front of their face. All the effort is going into upping difficulty and making content like raids and dungeons. I haven't play the last two dungeons and don't plan to. Cant be bothered with bullet sponge bosses and stupid tedious puzzles, this is a looter shooter not a jigsaw but apparently content is now aimed at a select few, everyone else has seen this, taken the hint and jogged on. Vanguard Ops is front loaded with the same boring Battlegrounds we have been running for almost two years, while most of the strikes have been removed from the game. Gambit gets nothing new and PVP gets barely more than that. It's like they are laying the foundations for this game to basically be endgame content only. I think Frontiers is going to be Bungie's reality check. GTA 6 is out a few months after it and that's a pre order from me. Unless they have something amazing in the bag, and I reckon they are going to be just bringing back vault stuff they can rehash mostly, I see this as the games last year.

You should check out a post on here very fitting for you it’s called quitting template guys actually giving it away for free would fit you very accurately
-
Came to this post right after reading the post making fun of quitting posts. Lol
-
I still enjoy the game - I just take more breaks than before.
-
54 RisposteI want to see these people post a video of them deleting everything from their vault, their inventory, their characters and finally uninstall

1 RispondiThey appear to be only making the end game activitys for the bungie players and the few that's left raid players. That new dungeon is just not fun it's more like a job you don't like .it's raid based ,so if you don't like the saturated mechanics your going to find yourself questioning why your even playing this game. was going to farm it for a weapon but it's only dropping Armour pc's not one gun out of secret chest or boss chest . to me that's broken . so I'm left with duplicate armor pc"s and it will be wrote off as a loss in my book. can't win them all attitude seems to be the norm lately with bungie. how is that good for business. by the numbers its not working for bungie.

Modificato da Why am I here!: 2/14/2025 4:54:48 PMAs jake the muss would say.... -blam!- you you'll be back 😂 Once We're Warriors Movie 👍

Well said!

I’m with you on most of what you say. I’m seeing out the season as I said to myself that I always would do (mainly because I bought the entire DLC). However, I want to see out the story but also see how they end the episode to then tie into Frontiers. Frontiers doesn’t appeal to me. I’m done grinding for armour sets and god roll weapons. I’ve kept away from the recent raids and dungeons, mainly playing solo for a couple of years after having managed big clans, doing Discord design and support, and Sherpa’d many players through the old raids and dungeons, so that’s on my list for next week to do. This game was once amazing, and if Bungie really wanted to do something to bring back old, and encourage new, players, then they should unvault everything. I don’t care how big the game would be. DCV was the start of their very slow demise. Good luck Guardian, wherever your ship takes you 👍

Time to join Helldivers. Much better game.

Well said sir . D2 kills clan and online friendships more than any other game I’ve ever played. I’ve had friends that I met back in Halo Reach in 2010 and then I founded a clan for us for original Destiny . When d2 came out in 2017 most didn’t like it and stopped playing altogether. A few that held out hope left when Curse of Osiris dropped and the disaster that ensued. It is a shame.

It's pretty much all business now. Their entire focus is on revenue. Doesn't matter if players enjoy the game or not. That's sadly what gaming has become nowadays.. I am glad i lived during the time when games used to be passion projects made by gamers for gamers and for themselves. You felt it back in the day. Now? It's just uninspired woke people who "work" from home and have zero passion for gaming who work on most games. And the higher ups have nothing but dollar signs in their eyes It's blatantly obvious.

Agreed.buff fusion rifles.

That’s a lot of words….. too bad I’m not reading it 😎 Take the time yapping about being bad at a actually good activity and learn not to rush in and shoot grenade launcher shots 1 foot in front of you and you’ll survive longer bozo

Bungie's quaking in their boots now that one more scrub is "quitting"
-
See you next Tuesday.
-
You said bye and yet you are still playing the game. Hmmmmm
-
Yup because Bungie is going to change everything just because a scrub left the game.
-
2 RisposteSalvations Edge, with the timer added, should have been a red flag. It's the least-played raid by a mile. I mean, even if they removed the timer in normal mode, it would still be the hardest raid in D2.
-
11 RisposteJust go. No need for a short story looking for validation.
-
Gotta get the daily crying out about how the game slightly challenged you.

2 RisposteSee you tomorrow

If there is time gating, people will complain that Bungie is dragging out playtime. If there is no time gating, people will do everything the first few weeks and complain that there is nothing to do.

3 RisposteIt seems to me that when someone announces they're "quitting" Destiny, that's not often the case. If you're leaving just go.

all the best. sell/delete your characters/acc then
