The reason strikes feel harder is cuz they changed it to where you’re always -5 no matter what power level you are. So instead of being able to over level up to +20 you’re always -5 which explains why they feel harder Coincidentally enough those -25 levels is what the GM modifier is, which explains why you say they feel like GMs GMs are still significantly harder than normal strikes of course but I get your point that strikes definitely don’t feel the same laid back relaxed no effort content you used to be able to do

You can over the majority of content, even content that says it is capped still allows you to over level. There is no -5 power activity that doesn’t allow you to over level.

  • Dude we’re talking strikes. Of course not everything is -5 Load up a random patrol zone (outside of Neomuna) and you’ll easily notice the difference between a patrol and a strike. Yes strikes are -5 NO MATTER WHAT. This was stated months ago when Bungie discussed the new power deltas. There were even threads fuming over the deltas, especially in base raids and dungeons. So no, you can’t over level an activity if it has an active power delta. Just how you’ll always be -10 while patrolling Neomuna, you’ll always be -5 when running strikes. So to go back to OPs comment, yes. The swing of -25 levels is noticeable (going from +20 to -5) but it’s not unbearable.

This is the main reason why the people complaints about dungeons were laughable. While they did get capped, you were technically doing more damage than you were before, while taking less. For exact numbers you can visit the TWAB below or look up community testing from that time, which showed consistent numbers with what bungie later released. The point you keep trying to make about over leveling by 20 is pure nonsense. Over leveling was scaled differently than being under leveled.

  • I can understand the negative power in some content, but in Strikes it just doesn't make any sense. I do hope that this negative power goes away soon. Quite hard to feel like you are making progress when you are always under power. Oh and it also removes the fun.

  • Yeah. It was laziness on their part and their refusal to add the delta back in makes me think they never will. That’s why I don’t play anymore.
