I matched with a two stack earlier today who taught me a thing or two.
I went down a split second before the rest of my team in the first round and the titan on my team let me know I had messed up by repeatedly shoulder charging me at the start of the next round. I took a hint and played back a bit next round instead. My team got cleaned up and I traded out in a 1v1 after they collapsed on me.
Titan was still not impressed so he showed me he could shoot real good with his adept immortal.
I decided to just play different angles and herd the other team into my own using trips and knives. This was the winning strategy. Because my Titan team mate just ate them alive for the rest of the game. One sniper head shot after another. Guy was cracked. I did have my doubts at first. This was a 2 stack with me as a solo versing a 3 stack. And the hunter on my team was under leveled and using double primary and the titan was trying to tilt me. And the other team came out the gates strong.
Didn't matter tho. The titan just kept head shotting everyone. All 3 of them round after round. He did get a couple of glaive kills during the heavy round I think. At least it says he did on destiny tracker.
I was not really ready or paying attention for the guy who flanked me in the final round (I was watching the titan) but it did give me the opportunity to watch how the titan was getting so many juicy sniper kills from my new vantage point beyond the grave. Before I could even swap to his pov tho the guy who flanked me took down my hunter team mate out and got sniped himself in return. The titan ran over and crouched on my ghost so I didn't bother swapping views, just waited for a revive. He sniped one of the other guys from a crazy angle I didn't know existed. And the last enemy turned and ran.
This titan had it in the bag. Years of training. And I was getting to witness it. Live. Up close.
He was still crouched on my ghost, his buddy's was right there as well. He could revive for a 3v1 no problem. I had dropped a green brick so he absolutely had a sniper round and an adept immortal that shoots real good. Lots of plays to make. Last enemy had retreated the wrong way and had boxed himself off with no line of site and no access to his own teams revives. He was trapped.
Not even any real pressure to win either. We were 4 : 2 and all of us had supers or were close to having by this point.
And this is when he absolutely blew my mind.
I'd heard of this style of play, but never seen it with my own two eyes. I'm still in disbelief hours later.
He pulled out colony and fired a long burst of robot bugs into the room the other player was in and then tcrashed his dead buddy and bagged til the round ended.
I mean the first 5 rounds played like normal, he theoretically could have been getting more sniper rounds off of his buddies dead body and he was definitely getting it off of the enemy as he killed them. All the action was happening so fast I wasn't really paying attention to the titan tbh. More just staying out of his way, waiting to pounce for cleanups that weren't necessary and waiting on my cooldowns and or peek shooting for chip damage.
Round 6 was a bit far fetched from my viewpoint tho, with the titan getting 3 snipes back to back and no way of having the ammo to do it. I should have left then and there but I wanted to see how it played out.
Sorry to the teams who have to verse those guys and guys like them. I reset my card in disgust. Sucks for everybody involved.
