With the difficulty changes for D2, it has definitely made the game harder some needed, but some a little overtuned
Vanguard ops- Great
Battlegrounds- Great
Legendary campaign- Great
Neomuna Patrol- good
Hero NF- Great
Now comes the real fun part
Legend Dares- ok/good (either keep the same or tone it down slightly and put back on extinguish)
Legend lost sectors- ok(Depends on location
Master lost sectors- no
(unless guarantees exotic then ok)
Legend NF- ok (Depends on location and teammates)
Master NF- no (unless guarantees NF weapon and exotic armor/ ascendant shard then ok)
GM NF- good (Grants great rewards compared to difficulty)
Master dungeons/Raids- Big no
Now an idea to make the raids harder that would burden the players too much is something similar to d1 “Hard Mode”
In year 1 of d2 there was a elected difficulty for raids called prestige raids which were similar to hard mode in d1.
How I would do it is to put player 10 under the max power level of the raid and have extra mechanics to the raid. This would keep the challenge in raids and if the player skips the normal version and goes straight to hard mode they get double loot.
This would also persuade players to play the harder content first to get a huge jump in levels or extra chances in the loot they want.
