I feel like Icebreaker should come back in some form
Yeah Bungie is still traumatized from 'gamebreaker' but I feel this exotic should come back in some form rather than be doomed to oblivion forever. I would be fine if the infinite ammo mechanic was changed or completely scrapped for something new just bring back this iconic weapon.

If it were to comeback it wouldn't have the ammo perk ....which at this point what the point of having it back

Its pretty much the same deal as hawkmoon. If its not the exact same, then its not the weapon. Even if the new perk is arguably better.

The infinite ammo is the guns identity but I agree that perk doesn't belong in D2. Gun should stay in D1. Use the model for something else if you have to, but don't call it Icebreaker.

IMO, I'd rather have NO Land Beyond than Icebreaker.

Modificato da Chucky: 2/3/2023 11:13:46 AMIf you take away it’s regenerating ammo then it’s not icebreaker anymore so there’s no point, although the combustion is effect was pretty nuts, used to wipe out a whole hoard of thrall in the entrance to crotas end with one shot.

Look I get it, we all had a blast with ice breaker in the old days when it was new and cool but for real there's enough exotic slots being used up by D1 exotics. I think sticking to new unique exotics would be best for the game even though I know as of recent there haven't been a ton of super cool ones but we do get some nice sometimes lol

I don’t see why not. It was a decent sniper in d1 it didn’t break the game. I don’t know what all these people are talking about lol. The only sniper I remember being broken was the original legendary black hammer.

I think it’ll never come back as they’d never give it Ammo regen. At that point is it really even Icebreaker? Invective could be tweaked to only regen if you have a full magazine, but Icebreaker only having the 1-mag would be pretty limiting. Icebreaker will stay with Pocket Infinity as 2 weapons that break the game too much to ever come back. Even No Land and Universal Remote could come back with massive reworks. Now a new PRIMARY with a single regenerating mag could be a cool idea for Bungie to work with.

1 RispondiIf it doesn't have the regenerating ammo it wouldn't be icebreaker and we all know Bungie won't bring back infinite ammo. Changing it would be like bringing back Gjallarhorn without the wolf pack rounds.

Bro is overcomplicating it. If the perk isnt the same then it simply isn't icebreaker. And what exactly will it regenrate in this scenario if it is not ammo?

I think mulligan, heating up, and permanent radar would be the best way to being this weapon back

1 RispondiBungie could do it. They could bring back Invective too. They just won't take the time to figure out a solution for the "problem" of infinite ammo. Then again, with the way the game breaks every update, maybe they shouldn't be digging around in the code trying to figure it out...

4 RisposteIcebreaker really doesn't have a place in D2s sandbox. If they brought it back, but changed it up people would riot. It's best just to leave it as the happy memories we had with it back in the day.

I would like it to come back. One of destinys iconic weapons. Even if it gets changed up abit.

For example, they could simply give it a regenerative verb something to do with fire would be more than adequate.
