Terraria. Big modding community. Base game alone is amazing.

Maybe not underrated, but I found Path of Exiles to be quite a fun aRPG. A way bigger game than I expected. No character customization, but I like it enough to over look that. The vibe just speaks to me. Also necromancy.
Now there was some serious lag/glitching that almost killed it for me, but after restarting and updating my computer (fiddling the settings too, though I could test high graphics now), I've had 0 lag for the whole day.
Evolve was super fun, the thing that killed the game was greed with all of the season pass and micro transactions that would be perfectly acceptable in today's awful market. Battleborn was killed by comparisons to Overwatch when they were completely different genres. I couldn't even get my friends to try it because they were so convinced it was just worse Overwatch. Gearbox helping to fuel that pointless rivalry didn't help matters. There was a Shadowrun shooter on the 360 that was actually a blast despite being a shooter with a Shadowrun skin. I think we ended up playing that more than Halo Reach. I have yet to play another game with such fun teleporting mechanics.

1 RispondiModificato da HiddenAlignment: 7/20/2022 4:10:26 AMDeath’s Gambit It’s one of those games that didn’t do well at first, but got much better after an update. The soundtrack is gorgeous, pixel art and animations are wonderful, the story and characters have charm and the overall Dark Souls/Metroidvania combination is pretty well done. Yet nobody talks about it. I’m lucky that a friend recommended it to me, or I would’ve missed out on a hidden gem.

Steamworld dig 1&2. It's a super cool little indie game series with puzzles, platforming, mining, and combat. It also has some cool story beats and I suggest playing it without looking up the story first.

3 RisposteSlay the Spire is a deck based rogue-lite that i've sunk several days into worth of play time. They have this system where you see exactly what the enemies do beforehand and it works perfectly. The difficulty is well balanced, the replay value is great and there is a lot of different ways of beating the game. It has a one player board game vibe to it and that's why I love it. Streets of Rogue is absolutely nothing like its namesake but I digress. Another Rogue-lite game, this package has so many moving parts that it is impossible to amply summarize. The enemy AI is superbly done which is necessary for all the different denizen roles. The chaos of Far Cry or Goat Simulator meets a top down level focused arcade game that is simply brilliant.

1 RispondiLittle Big Planet. Single most underrated PlayStation exclusive I can think of.

Modificato da SparkleGuy: 7/17/2022 12:11:12 AMIt's not underrated, but just not as well known I think Prey (from 2017) one of my favorites. It's like bioshock, but in space and in the future rather than underwater and in the past

3 RisposteAlice: Madness Returns Alice in Wonderlands platformer, but twisted and weird in an older teen-rated Tim Burton sort of way. Sequel to American McGee’s Alice from the early 2000s. Puzzle Quest 1 & 2 Match-3 puzzle RPGs, but actually good and were made before microtransactions so there’s none of those. There is a third one out, it didn’t look great on the let’s play I saw tho. An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs In the future aliens have built airports to travel between planets. For some reason all the aliens disappeared and now they’re all occupied by dog jpegs like this one. You have lost your wife and have to go searching these airports for her.

Modificato da Swiftlock: 7/18/2022 6:08:03 AMNo Man's Sky. So many opinions from players - and mainstream gaming media - totally bashed NMS at launch. Now it's an entirely new, much better experience thanks to tons of updates and continuous support from the community/devs.

4 Risposte

I would say Xenoblade Chronicles. If you have a Wii, 3ds, or Switch, you need to play this game.

Heard of xenoblade, but never tried it cuz of the girls there. I mean come on guys chill with mythra/Pyra Apart from that Burnout Paradise is a good go to for me.(not sure of its popularity though) Game itself is fun although last time I tried to play it servers were dead.

dreams is actually a fun little game to play when you’re bored of everything else, i’ve had a lot of fun and laughs from people’s creations

5 RisposteAzure striker gunvolt. One of the best side scrollers I've ever played.
-
Mad Dash Racing Blinx 2 For Honor

1 RispondiTitanfall 2. One of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences I've had and the campaign was on the same level. I think Call of Duty Black Ops 4 got a bad rap too. I played up until max prestige and topped out around level 500 and enjoyed it. A very well rounded CoD game in my opinion and fun to just not think in.

A friend of mine recently recommended me to play Phantom Dust since it’s free on windows and Xbox, and that it is really good. He said that it was like an arena shooter mixed with hearthstone and it was super underrated I haven’t tried it yet (I will soon, I just have too many games in the back burner), but if he recommended it then it’s probably good

1 RispondiDead cells, it’s the reason I’m decent at video games now

I’d say No Man’s Sky cause even though it’s semi big now I never hear about it

1 RispondiModificato da Merribor: 7/6/2022 2:47:22 PMOf the Zelda games, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are criminally underrated. Mechanically, these games do a really good job of exploiting the features found only on the DS or Wii U; you've got stylus movement and combat, the ability to draw all over the maps, puzzles where you have to carve certain shapes into slates, boss fights where you'll need to use two different perspectives on each screen in order to beat it, and an instrument where you actually need to blow into a really crappy mic, among other cool little features. If i had to choose between the two, i'd go with Spirit Tracks. It's a much more streamlined version of Phantom Hourglass that expands on some of its mechanics. The train overworld is a more engaging and challenging than the Great Sea, and the buddy system in the Spirit Tower where you get to control both Link and Zelda is absolitely brilliant. It's close, but I think i might love Spirit Track's soundtrack even more than Phantom Hourglass and maybe even more than Wind Waker. This iteration of Zelda's lullaby is especially soothing. The Great Sea theme is gone, but it's replaced with a newer, adventurous train song. All the somgs are train songs, and the composer even uses some cool motifs throughout the soundtrack. However, i would be remiss if i didn't mention the best part of either of these games: Phantom Hourglass' PvP. I've probably sunk more hours with my little brother into this stupid battle mode than both campaigns combined. The perfect travel game: matches are short and snappy, but very tense, with a cops-and-robbers-esque feel coupled with strategic thinking under a time constraint.
