Ever since season 17 dropped I've been getting the message Contacting destiny 2 servers popping up every 20 mins or so. A third of the time it does this, I get kicked to a black screen but am still in the fireteam or kicked to orbit, sometimes its weasel other times its anteater.
I am sure this is not on my end as I have had no issues with other online games or even D2 itself before season 17 released.
I really like the new content but its borderline unplayable with the amount of bugs and error codes.
Not surprised but still disappointed.

Lots of errors today. Can’t play the new story mission

I'm a retired Network Engineer from one of the big three wireless cell providers. When Bungie divested from Activision, they had to move off Activision servers and migrate Destiny to their own server network, and therein lies the problem. I would bet their IT VP went with the cheapest cost for hardware and equipment, hence their sub-par network performance. In short, their server network sucks. Bungie seriously needs to dig deep into Sony's pockets to upgrade their network, because for most of us, dealing with Destiny's constant network issues has gotten old. When ever I get the 'contacting servers' message, I routinely do a speed test at the same time on my PC which is hardwired to the same internet connection. I routinely see 450+ mbs download and 35+ mbs upload with 30 ms latency.

2 RisposteModificato da Ms_Mello: 5/30/2022 12:47:41 PMI've had 5 baboon, 2 bee, 3 anteater, 1 canary and a couple of other error codes I can't remember. I hope they fix their servers really soon because it's seriously annoying having to sit through what is now becoming an unplayable game

1 RispondiAny news on this? Is anyone even responding? This game is completely unplayable for me. I get on for maybe 30 seconds before I get tossed out on a WEASEL error code. Is there any customer service? The Help blog has been no help. I’ve tried all the “Solutions” on the site and none of them worked. So what now? Where do I complain?

1 RispondiThis has been happening since WQ's release for me, but since 17 it's been nonstop during gameplay. Usually it was primarily doing inventory management, but now it's while I'm playing consistently. I've followed quite a few guides on how to mitigate this problem. I have 2 xboxs in the house, one wired, one wireless, emptied both caches and nothing. NAT, speeds and pings are good from what I could see and nothing else seems to have any connection problems when using the systems. I'm at a loss as to what I can do at this point.
