It is said the mode of trials is a team focused mode so having freelance instead of solo matchmaking makes perfect sense, and I will explain.
Trails is to be a full 3 man team vs a full 3 man team, and may the best team win. Now by adding solo queuing matchmaking it is allowing 3 man teams to play either a team with solos or a 2 stack with one solo player. This is not balanced, and not what trails was meant for.
Now if Freelance is added instead of solo matchmaking it will help keep the whole core of team vs team battle in place. Trails will now only be 3 player team vs 3 player team and solo players vs solo players. This is perfect, and most importantly keeps things balanced and fair. The only ones that suffer are two stacks they have to now find a third in order to compete.
Freelance makes the whole process much better for trails. I hope this is something you will cosider.
Thank you and have a great day

True. But the question whether there is enough interest in Trials to sustain TWO playlists. Trials has had difficulty keeping just ONE healthy.

You kids made the same argument for freelance in IB and comp yet those gamemode are LITERALLY no different than the regular ones. When you are going to realize that YOU are the problem, not the game?

Answer this question: What was the point in allowing non-premade teams to queue up to play Trials? Do you think Bungie was trying to breathe life into a playlist where exclusive pinnacle loot can be earned? Do you think Bungie did only it to remove the exclusivity of Trials loot? Did Bungie want Trials to become a playlist more casual and rewarding than any other crucible play list, including Iron Banner? lol this feels kind of like somebody inviting you over for regularly occurring dinner party because they’d enjoy having more company. Then you start making a bunch of demands of how the menu is prepared, what drinks you should be served, what music has to be played and demand that you and some of the other guest should get your own table in another part of the house.
