Hello, I am a returning player who has just purchased Destiny 2: Legendary Edition. I was disappointed to find out that I am required to "upgrade" to the Deluxe Edition (an additional $30) in order to unlock the Hawkmoon quest; content I presumably already paid for.
It seems that this is a common and frustrating issue for players. I cannot tell whether this is an act of carelessness, or ambiguous design to put the same content behind two paywalls. If a user is paying for the more expensive edition of the game, it should include the content of the lesser expensive variant.

I agree that you shouldn’t have to back pay for finished seasons as you don’t get the full content for the same money. Should atleast be discounted. Kind of a scam.

Beyond Light digital deluxe edition includes Beyond Light and all year 4 season passes. One could argue that legendary includes more content just less seasonal activities but both are meant to serve completely different functions. So it's not the same content behind 2 walls, it's different packages with different contents for different purposes One is meant to help newer players catch up with all the expansions and the other is meant to help returning players play the most recent seasonal activities. What is included is spelled out clearly in the descriptions in the platform stores,
