For starters, most players aren't high enough light to do it. This is due to a variety of reasons (like bad RNG), but the worse part is that it's impossible to grind high enough to get there in a week if you're not already there or very nearly there now.
"But you have all season"
Except the passage of time exists and we have less than half a season remaining to complete it.
Don't get me wrong, I understand encouraging players to try new activities. However, something like 80-85% of your player base literally can't launch the activity because they're so far down the ladder.
Maybe give endgame players a separate list of challenges to complete or something, but these challenges took the place of weekly bounties and now you're gating it exclusively to people who play for hours every day.
Bungo, weekly bounties were universally accessible by every player, new light through no lifer. These new weekly challenges are not, and players who want to do them can't magically improve by 20+ light levels to do it, likely even in the remainder of the season because RNG exists and nobody is that lucky in this game.
I know a trials one is coming soon too, and that'll be another "only for the top 10%" challenge.
If we have to complete all of them to get the bright dust reward at the end of the season, that's going to be a huge slap to the face to players, especially the ones actually trying to level up and can't because RNG keeps feeding them the same useless leg armor over and over again.
One more thing, I'm season rank 112 and even if my light were, say, 1310, I still wouldn't be high enough light to do a Grandmaster. You have to basically no life the game to be at 1325 at this point.

You have two months to get it done. You can do one Grandmaster. Knock out some pinnacles and put on your big boy pants. Some challenges should push you out of your comfort zone. There are PvP mains who hate grandmasters. It goes both ways.

Was waiting for a challenge that I wasn’t gonna complete.

2 RisposteIf you love this idea, wait two weeks. 7 wins in Trials.. and only if Trials is up and running lol Bungie just really doesn't get it.

7 RisposteModificato da Smith5084: 3/17/2021 3:00:41 AMThis is honestly the most idiotic decision that I’ve seen Bungie make in the last couple of years, and let’s face it, that’s a high bar to clear. 95% of the player base won’t even hit the power level necessary to qualify for Grandmaster by the end of the season, and out of that remaining 5%, how many will actually be able to clear it? This is where I jump off. I’ve enjoyed this season so far, but I’m not spending days grinding through some bullshit activity that’s only actual difficulty is throwing waves of enemies at you that are grossly over-leveled compared to you.

Absolutely right. GM NF is a pain. I tried last season with several lfg teams in several different NFs and never made it once. Teams fall apart, people get frustrated, have to leave, some players are just not good enough ... this is easy for people who have a clan they team up with every day where everybody is doing endgame stuff the whole time. But for most people it’s just tiresome to even try. I completed two GMs the season before and pretty much cheesed them with a guy who was really good at it. Last season I had no such luck. And I work for a living so it’s a bit tiresome to try this for hours in the evening with no success and many different lfg groups. The weekly challenges are generally weird. Some are super easy but others are pretty much for clan people who play every day for hours. I’m having a hard time still trying to find all the collectibles in the Presage and many I picked up never counted because ... I don’t know? Maybe I missed one in some week and now I’m stuck? No idea. I can’t play this game every day. But I’m a decent player and things like Trials wins are just aggravating because they pretty much tell you that you can’t have this. I honestly think that most of this is about time you spend in the game, too. While in lockdown last year, I had no problem doing everything. I even got the seven trials wins twice (once for the seal MMXX and once for the weird shiny armor). But only because I had time. So it’s not skill. It’s just time. And that suxx as a requirement, especially if you basically need to have so much time to be able to compete.
-
3 RisposteTotally agree I play a good amount and hit the required level and I’ve tried a few GMs for the experience but not once completed one. I play the game because I enjoy it, I’ve completed all seasonal challenges because I like to complete these things and now there’s a ‘challenge’ that is likely unobtainable and if trials is also true I don’t even have a team so it’ll be random lfg and hope. Seems pointless working on seasonal challenges any more I don’t need the xp so the whole mechanic which I have been praising as it felt way more rewarding than bounties is pointless if there are elite level activities to do! What Is wrong with master difficulty it’s not a walk in the park but it’s achievable and to comp wins not trials as there is a single player mode.

7 RisposteI mean the first 1 is a joke. Most grandmasters are.
-
3 RisposteI mean, no one is "making" you do anything. And honestly, getting to 1325 is a joke at this point. So many pinnacles in the game. And if you've been keeping up with the weekly challenges, you should easily be +15 on the artifact. "Oh, BuT i DoN't HaVe AnY fRiEnDs ThAt ArE aLsO 1325." Find some. That's what clans are for. Don't have an active clan? Find one.

18 RisposteNo life the game.....3 strikes, 3 pvp, 3 gambits, 1 1300 ordeal, 1 exo challenge, 1 empire hunt, and the raid which grant 5 drops. That's less than 4 hours of play time per character, even if it took 5 hours that's 15 hours a week. A little more than 2 hours a day. That is not no lifeing the game.....that also negates repeat drops unless you are extremely unlucky every week.

9 RisposteModificato da DextroseSkulfyre: 3/17/2021 4:52:24 PMFirstly a challenge should be challenging. So when something is out of reach it allows you to work towards that goal. Not like most of the seasonal weeklies that are, reset, done, click. Secondly, you only need to do 75 of the 77. This would allow more casual style players to skip the grandmaster nightfall one - Conquest of the Mighty and the trials round wins one - Trial by Firing Squad in week 8, and still be able to finish that Seasonal Challenge - Master of All. It is nice to have something that is hard to do for many. edited - "have" in last sentence

3 RisposteI too complained in the past about how absurd these GM must be and always thought -blam!- it i’m not good enough anyway... Until i was bored with the game last season and decided to try these GM’s... my goodness do i enjoy these GM’s and the challenges they give! It made me a way better PvE player and i hope they will never make this a matchmaking activity... You need players who know what to fo and are patient. If i can learn them and get the conquerer title a lot more can do it. Before last season i always disagreed that most of the game is to easy but not anymore, but also you don’t HAVE to play everything in the game...

11 Risposte55 days to complete a single grandmaster seems fine to me. If there is a trials one coming it would likely be complete X amount of games like the comp one, to get more players into the game mode.
-
2 RisposteIf i no lifed this game, I could probably reach rank 100 within 2 days. However, there is no raid this season so majority of endgame players i know are taking it super casual this season. Majority of them were max level within 2-3 weeks from simply doing their pinnacles. No one wastes their time farming extra crucible matches or strikes. We do the endgame content only for pinnacles and call it a week. Thats basiclaly a 3 hour commitment each week. I would hardly classify that was no lifers. The LFG community just spends 2 minutes finding teamates for raids and nightfalls, and theyre max level within 3 weeks.

12 RisposteModificato da Inumbrate: 3/17/2021 2:34:19 PM5 Gambit Rank ups is way worse than running rewarding GMs.
-
11 RisposteThis. If it was master difficulty then fine, but gms are too much. I play the game pretty often, and I run the raids and can do decently well in trials (not like I’m going to go flawless, but I don’t absolutely succ). I’m still only 1320 max. Master makes sense, gms do not. It’s the equivalent of having a requirement to go flawless.

12 RisposteTo be honest, so far I see no problems with the Seasonal Challenges. I think they are mixed up pretty well. You have a good portion of Challenges that are very accessible. Those are the most popular among the casual portion of the players that don't have much time to spend in the game. They are very easy, don't require much time, they're connected to the Seasonal Activities and grant a good reward both in EXP and Bright Dust. Then you have those connected to the Grind like the one that asks Gambit Rank Reset, or Valor Rank Reset for more dedicated players that spend more time in the game and they prefer this kind of Activities. Are they long? Yeah. Are they impossible? No. Of course, since these Challenges require more time, their prize is bigger. And then you have few Challenges that are aimed to the Hardcore Players. The completionists, those that have the possibility to access and complete every aspect of the game. Basically, there are Challenges for everyone. And, since we're talking of "Challenges", clearly some of them are harder of others. Not everyone will complet eeverything and I don't think this is a problem. Also because at the end of the day, nothing will change. You won't lose nothing if you don't complete all the Challenges, so, no worries. One more thing:
You have to basically no life the game to be at 1325 at this point.
I work 6 days per week from 9:00 AM to 7:00PM. I play only 2-3 hours per night with my Clanmmates ('cos we're in lockdown, so no much to do after dinner) and I spend more time during Sunday. I'm at 1322 and 150-something of the Season Pass (I play only 1 character actively) which means that after this week, maybe next, we will be able to access to the Grandmaster Nightfall. There are players that have already SOLO the Grandmaster Nightfall. So, please, avoid this kind of arguments 'cos they are just lame exscuses.

21 RisposteModificato da IronHatchett: 3/17/2021 2:42:20 PMSepiks is absurdly easy, like it's stupid. Out of every GM I've tried this is by far the easiest. I completed it 4 times yesterday, once on each of the 4 subclasses. My last run, my team comp was arc hunter, stasis hunter, void bubble titan and the titan had never done a GM before. We completed that run on our first attempt. I plan on farming this GM this weekend for golf balls and exotics. This is really not that hard if you actually try and practice. Too many people immediately just complain about something at all challenging and regardless, If you cannot do it, it is selfish to say this should be removed from the challenges so that nobody can do it. Skip this challenge if it's too hard for you. You're only missing out on like 150 bright dust. Edit: Since this has come up twice now. Just because the challenge is available this week does not mean it has to be completed this week. For people who are high enough power, they can do the challenge, for those who are not this is a longer term goal. The last week of the season every GM is available and Sepiks can be farmed again then. There is zero downside to having a challenge available now, in fact it would be worse if it was made available weeks from now. Would you prefer to not know this was a challenge, take a break from the game and come back with 2 weeks left and still need to grind out a 15 power levels?
-
1 RispondiI don't think you will have to complete ALL the challenges to get the final Bright Dust reward. You will just miss out on the emblem for it if you don't complete them all.
-
I feel the same way. While I understand that joining an active clan might help, what about solo players? It's not just the power level that's the issue (though it is an issue, as I'm over level 115 and still haven't gotten a single piece of gear over 1301). Another problem is being solo or not having a mic, both of which describe me, as it's much harder to find and especially communicate with others. And even if the stars align and you get a perfect team, just a couple mistakes and you get kicked into orbit. I wish they added extra, more difficult but optional versions for veterans that don't count towards the "all challenges completed" seasonal challenge.

10 RisposteIs this Bungie's idea of "replayable content"? It makes me wonder what they are actually going to do when they reduce reaching the max level to only ten. No one is forced to run any activity, but it should be a sign that something is wrong when 90% of the player base doesn't even bother with a certain activity. This doesn't mean they should try to lure players into playing it, it means, (what are we doing wrong that most of the player base won't even enter an activity, and what can we do to improve it so more players would be more interested in wanting to.) Bungies logic for a lot of the decisions for this game they make are stupid. Yes, stupid because they have been using the same lame logic for years. Let's try to lure the players instead of trying to improve things because that seems to have worked for 4 years now right? I'm sorry, but BD is not going to magically change things to where most of the player base will run it when they can get it doing basic things in this game. Not even the power drops have helped increase the number of players running it. Maybe, if this company went back to the logic of thinking if we create replayable content to where the players actually get better gear that improves their stats, things like that that are an actual incentive maybe they will see more player willing to run certain activities. But that's too much to ask from this company, to actually improve things...

18 RisposteDefinitely annoying as it now blocks me out of getting the emblem for completing all the challenges i was on the way to getting. ( Emblem is on bungie rewards)
-
1 RispondiMatchmaking should be an option for all activities as Grand Masters Nightfall is optional activity. To get to a light level to meet the requirements means more rinse and repeat the same activities. Bungie never understand players want good rewards that will make them grind the game. Looting chests and get mostly is glimmer is annoying.

5 RisposteIf you’re on PC and need some help with this weeks Grandmaster Nightfall, feel free to reply to this with your friend code. My crew will do it’s best to help as many people through as we can.

5 RisposteThey need to just axe Power in general. They clearly have the ability to adjust difficulty in ways which don’t rely on Power—no matter your level, enemies in Patrol will always be squishier than those in even a simple playlist strike. And enemies in playlist strikes will always be squishier than ones in the lowest difficulty Nightfall. Power might keep players on the hamster wheel, but lately I think it’s also putting a lot of people off the game entirely. It’s fatiguing. Taken in concert with randomized loot, it’s also stupidly frustrating (“I only need boots to reach the pinnacle cap, so of course here’s my fifth helmet in a row”) and blatantly unfair. It’s an arbitrary number that breaks immersion and stretches the grind to an unhealthy length. If they really can’t think of a better way to give players a sense of progression, then...I, personally, would rather have nothing than this empty crap. Or if nothing else, disconnect it from gear, for the love of Christ. “Sorry guys, I can’t run Grandmaster because even though my max Power is high enough, that’s only if I equip my Crucible set, or these guns which I enjoy but which aren’t remotely useful to this activity.” Or “ah, shucks, can’t do it. Yeah, I’ve got some pinnacles to infuse, but I’m flat broke right now, and upgrade modules cost too much.” Or in my case, “gosh, I sure wish I hadn’t skipped over the first few weeks of this season, ‘cause now I’m several dozen levels behind all my clanmates and I can’t do bupkis in endgame activities. Guess I gotta run 11,000 strikes so I can minimally contribute in Master farms and Presage and whatnot.” It’s dumb. Kill it.

1 RispondiWell hopefully the shift back to the 10 power jump each season instead of 50 power, it will be much more accessible.
