Destiny is not a solo/casual game. And raids are better without matchmaking and with team strategies implemented. There are many ways to earn exotic gear as a solo player. Presage is the newest example of this. Also legendary lost sectors. Also the power grind is very accessible this season. And Bungie is essentially nerfing the power grind going forward. Unless you’re doing grandmasters, power level is basically viewed as irrelevant for all intents and purposes. Aside from raids, all content can be completed alone.
Also, to get drops you gotta play the game.

That power grind nerf won't change anything unless they change the pinnacle grind. It's easy to grind the first fifty levels in a day with random drops, but the duplicate spamming drops and +1's are the killer. We will still be in the same boat.

Who cares about the “pinnacle grind”???? We have the artifact now. Besides, not everyone is a no life with unlimited hours in one day to grind power in Destiny. Further more, power is irrelevant in most activities, and not that many ppl care about grandmasters, anyway.

What’s presage and how does that enable solo players to get otherwise locked out exotics for solo’s? Thanks for the advice as well!

It’s an exotic mission that can be completed solo, at the end you are given an exotic weapon.

Dang, I didn’t know this existed. That’s half my issue with the game. Hated being barred out of certain exotics. I’ll check that out.

Also look up the hawkmoon mission for an exotic hand cannon. These missions are for specific gear, you won’t get raid weapons, just letting you know.
