Auto rifle metas have a very low skill gap by comparison to anything else, especially hand cannon metas.
Auto rifles perform poorly in air and their damage model performs poorly in peek shot situations, so when it comes down to it the only skill set really tested during an auto rifle duel is aim/strafe.
Compared to a hand cannon duel where aim, strafe, peek shot and vertical play are all part of the equation.
This gives players who have mastered destiny movement and cover useage a bigger advantage in hand cannon metas, but not so much in auto rife metas.
BUT WHATS THE TRUE PROBLEM?
It’s not that 600rpm auto rifles have a 0.7s optimal ttk, that was a good change to Make them competitive against hand cannons.
It’s that 1.1 or 1.2s body shot ttk (depending on resilience) that causes issues.
Back to the skill gap argument.
In a hand cannon duel, if you land ALL headshots with a 150rpm you get a 0.8s ttk, if you miss a SINGLE headshot you get a 1.2s ttk
But in a 600rpm auto rifle duel? 100% accuracy gets you a 0.7ttk but spraying all body shots gets you a 1.1 or 1.2s ttk.
The penalty for 0% precision with a 600 rpm auto is about the same as missing a single headshot with a hand cannon
THATS THE PROBLEM
When the only real “skill” that is tested with auto rifles is aim/strafe, it’s really detrimental to the skill gap and when the punishment for inaccuracy is so low.
Yes the player with better aim will win, but the margin by which they win is less, which means:
-harder to get streaks
-less opportunity to outplay an opponent if you are weak already
- less margin for latency issues (which destiny is notorious for)
THIS IS THE PROBLEM
600 Auto rifles need a body shot Damage nerf,

4 RisposteYeah but HC meta for months and months on end was very tedious. If ARs are nerfed again, everyone goes back to HCs?

1 RispondiModificato da michael: 4/30/2020 2:46:46 PMEh I dont know. Hand cannons don’t take a ton of skill either. I know with a hand cannon you have to worry about timing shots and hitting headshots et cetera but honestly with how generous the shooting mechanics are in this game I don’t think using a hand cannon is that much harder. I’ve always used hand cannons exclusively but I realize how easy they are even compared to auto rifles. To be fair I play on PC and I know hand cannons are more effective there. But even on console there are huge hitboxes and a lot of aim assist, on every weapon type.

2 RisposteLol I am thee most "Anti HC" player out there, when HC's were META I got a "Trust" with Opening shot/ explosive rounds and range masterwork and I was straight dumping on people got to "80 something kills with it" and vaulted it. HC = Crutch

5 RisposteDude quit your -blam!-. Hand cannons have been meta for way too long, it's a good thing they got knocked down a peg. Change is good, either adapt or bail.

5 RisposteUnderling issue: "you are a chronic complainer!"

2 RisposteHand cannons were meta for like 15 months, stfu.

LH /NF are still 2 crit 1 body, so you have forgiveness built in. That's what using a precision weapon is all about. Autos are scatter projectile weapons. They require constant target tracking with constant damage application to have any respectable ttk. I would argue that only great players are achieving an auto's optimal ttk on a consistent basis. Your average players are not hitting 7 out of 8 crits for optimal ttk. Going a step further, I would argue that your average player is not even hitting all body shots on a normal basis. Missing the target completely with one or more shots is probably the norm. Auto's are fine the way they are and their body shot ttk is fine if a player is actually landing all of those shots.

1 RispondiAdaptive autos wont be nerfed until the end of the season.

Modificato da Old Man Pookie: 4/30/2020 2:29:37 AMHonestly, all your post will do is confuse the average gamer. This game is not an eSport. Time to kill is not relevant for the average gamer. Let them have 600 rpm auto rifles. It's how they compete and who Bungie needs to cater to because they spend money. The sweaty elite players who do nothing but complain and moan are usually the ones not buying from Eververse and keeping Bungie afloat. Yes, Bungie needed to keep the sweats happy when the game cost $60. Now that the game is free, the elitist MINORITY doesn't bring in as much as the casual/average MAJORITY. Stop worrying about nerfs and buffs. There will ALWAYS be a meta in EVERY pvp game, not just Destiny. There will ALWAYS be a weapon that is slightly better than others. 600 rpms are great, but at a distance, get outclassed by pulse and scout rifles and at close range get outclassed by sidearms and SMGs.

11 RisposteThat's funny. Your post led me to the conclusion that hand cannons need a bodyshot damage nerf.

1 RispondiThere is zero skill in this game. It's all about which side has less lag. You could be the best player in the world and be put into a match with horrible lag and made to look like a noob because of these horrible peer to peer servers. And that happens a good 50% of the time in this game especially on consoles.

5 RisposteI was having fun earlier outgunning SUROS users with a 180 handcannon.

13 RisposteAhh yes the shotgun ape is mad 600s counter his aping.

9 RisposteAutos are fine. Glad to see a new meta. HC meta was super stale and really old. Stop crying because your crutch weapon isn’t the god tier go-to anymore.

1 RispondiModificato da ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ: 4/29/2020 3:31:53 PMAutos are great. Glad to see this new meta, after 20 straight months of hand cannons. Adapt by using the new meta, continue to use your old meta while whining or just stop playing.

9 Risposte
BUT WHATS THE TRUE PROBLEM?
That you're still getting shot at and now you need a new scapegoat?

U got the point. I hope they will nerf body dmg from 600rpm ar soon.
