Breakneck still broken

It’s very sad that it’s taken almost 2 seasons to fix the nerf on breakneck yet a kinetic sidearm can still out Dps it. Actually all auto rifles need a buff. Clearly you(Bungie)are incapable of proper updates fixes and creating content, either sell the rights to a company that actually cares about the product they are selling or crawl back to Activision, if they would even have you at this point. Way to ruin autos for sake of pvp and fail on every level to produce quality content or updates right now. A new lead is needed as well, get rid of Smith, he is no good for this franchise.

  • The problem is that there was a fair amount of people who enjoyed using the Breakneck in PvE. Bungie generally doesn’t like players regularly enjoying themselves with weapons that were earned outside of Competitive. They’re some strange cats for sure.

  • I'm not sure why they designed a weapon with double damage perks, but then continue to go out of their way to throttle the damage so it doesn't do more damage than other auto rifles with single damage perks. It has two damage perks, it is designed to do more damage, at the cost of not having perks that improve other stats, such as range, stability, and reload speed. It would be like if they took my rampage/kill clip kindled orchid, and said "okay, you can have the kill clip bonus damage, but for every stack of rampage you get, your kill clip bonus damage is reduced". I'm taking double damage perks at the cost of not taking something like rangefinder, or outlaw. Just let breakneck do more damage, just as it was designed to be.

      I don't understand why it was nerfed in the first place. Why? I never heard of a single complaint about it, before the nerf.

      • This is so funny that you sweat for a weapon (and breakneck not that easy to get) and then when you over rampage 2 goin into 3 your damage got punished? Less damage than rampage 2? This is like a good joke, Or maybe BreakRifleSplitter - rename it xD

          • Breakneck could use another 10 bullets or so in the magazine, and High Caliber Rounds. ;P I mean, it's not good when there are any number of better ARs in the same archetype. It feels underwhelming even with Weapons of Light on.

                • the new breakneck got nerfed @ 3 stacks of rampage..... It got buffed @ 2 stacks yes, but why secretly nerf it and not put it in the patch notes? LMAO

                • I would like more ammo over all I'd say at least 650 in reserves (at bare minimum) and then at least 55 in the mag. Otherwise, it's not really worth it too use... Sad cause I had my hopes up when I heard they were "fixing" it. And yes auto rifles are a must for a buff overall.

                • Activision wouldn't have them back. The only reason you let someone out of a two year remnant of an ironclad contract, for $100-140M, is if you have doubts the contracted can make that amount of money over the next two years. Keep in mind development costs anywhere from $50-100M annually. Activision selling the publishing rights for that amount was a vote of, "no confidence."

                    • Auto rifles are the most universal and most used weapon archetypes all over the world, you see autos been used the most on all shooting games. destiny happens to be the one game at least to my knowledge where auto rifles happen to be the weakest weapon archetype. Its not just one or two auto archetypes that suck, its literally all of them. No matter how much anyone in destiny loves auto rifles and some can make it work, we have to admit it takes far more work to perform with an auto than anything else in the game. All auto rifles in the game need a massive buff, they need more damage, they need forgiveness, they need range! Im not saying they need to win all gun fights, I’m saying they need to be viable, Damage and range is a really good start. Before anyone tries to say auto rifles take no skill let me remind you that auto rifles take more skill than any other weapon archetype in the game at the moment. To use an auto rifle in destiny you need to 1: land all headshots, missing even one bullet will increase the time it takes to get a kill. 2: auto rifles require some seriously good tracking 3: auto rifles cannot poke damage from corners like hand cannons can, this means you will take a ton more damage because you cant shoot and poke from cover. 4: auto rifles require the most mathematical prediction in terms of range, you have to seriously consider where you are engaging from because if you start doing 1 less damage from falloff damage your ttk can go from .7 all the way to a full 1.4 seconds. They are extremely unforgiving if you cant engage at its maximum range, autos really do need buffs.

                            • Stop blaming PvP. There's all that crit damage change & damage roll off & multiple other changes that impact the gun. I used it last night & it was.. fine. Seriously, ppl like you need to grow the **** up & get a grip. It's a fun in a game with thousands of other gun & you want the entire world of Bungie to rotate round your one little gripe.. This forum is the worst it's been for whiny miserable entitled lil ***** constantly demanding this or that gets sacked & that blah blah hates it's customer..
