How many vets are there of d1?
Ive been playing destiny 2 but my interest is really starting to fall off. Im thinking of going back to d1 and completing all the quests that dont require a team. What are your thoughts on destiny 2 so far?
Edit: nice to see so many of you. I have another question for you all to answer. How would you feel if they merged d1 and d2 to make 1 evolving world like they said in d2 shadowkeep vidoc?

7 RisposteChristmas noob here! Man, i remember a time when the game had like 15 exotics and they were rare af. Bungie wasn't giving out free ones like devil's ruin. Wtf happened? How did we get to this point?

D1 is infinitely better than D2

D1 is better. D2 is bigger. Quality over quantity. If they put some of the D2 subclass features and exotocs into D1, I'd be playing again. I only stopped because I've done EVERYTHING in D1.

Played since D1 beta. Bored to death of this game now. I feel it's the worst it has ever been and haven't played much since I rescued Saint 14. Just tired of the same old log on and grind a gazillion bounties, get tired, get bored, log off routine. This having to log on because I will miss out on content every three months is just garbage and a terrible idea on bungie's part. I'm sad at what this company has turned into. A lot of talent that seems to be going to waste and on what?

D1 week one vet. Still remember when Xur sold the GHorn... didn’t even have a strange coin to my name at the time but I sure as hell wish I did once I realized what it was! Good times. RIP D1, maybe you’ll have a fresh start again on PC and people can enjoy you once again... with some QOL improvements of course.

They're both fine. D2 simply needs more end-game and more content to keep people continually interested. Right now it's just too much about the grind. But then... D1 had its fair share, too. Right now I'm just grinding to finish a few catalyst / exotic quests. Beyond that, will have to wait until a decent DLC drops as I have no interest in these seasonal, everything will go, events.

1 Rispondiraids in d1 were more fun . meaning fun after getting loot drops , going in and doing it for fun.

2 RisposteDon't know if you'd consider "joining just after the release of TTK" a veteran, but if so, then I'll oblige. D2 is suffering from the "wide as an ocean, but deep as a kiddie pool" problem, in that there's objectively a butt-ton of stuff to do in the game, but none of it is actually worth doing. In D1, raids were true endgame and had worthwhile rewards, crucible was rewarding because of the hunt for god roll weapons like Matador and Eyasluna. Even the daily heroic story missions felt worth doing in D1. In D2, especially post Shadowkeep, everything got muddled up. There's no discernable endgame, raids aren't worth your time, crucible is boring and broken, and there's barely anything that feels worthwhile. Once you've gotten all the random drop exotics, gotten the weapons with the rolls you want, and customize your guardian to look hawt as hell, then you're done. There's no rewarding endgame, the power level climb doesn't even matter anymore because of artifacts, and trickle feeding of subpar content is killing the game.

D1 is just far inferior to D2 but the game was new back then.

Been a Guardian since it came out and have played damn near every day even if for only a single Strike run. The one and only real complaint I have is I hate the D2 Raids and deeply miss my old D1 Raid night parties with my fire teams (I had 2). I ran Lev once and it was OK almost even fun but after that I watched Kackis's Raids for Dummies for the Lairs and newer Raids and all their stupid mechanics and said nope not fun, not doing them. I'll admit too, the truly sad part, I have a great clan and if I spent the massive time to get comfortable with the mechanics I'd probably run them. But I hear how its taken them all afternoon and evening to take a couple new people through and they'll pick it back up tomorrow and well I back to not fun, next.

2 RisposteD1 was and is still better loot incentive and playability wise. D2 is better clambering and cutscene wise.

I miss the loot grind. Raids had normal and hard mode gear with exotic primaries in year three. Factions were...there, the game kept me playing. D2 isn't a bad game at all. I just got tired of it's crap.

Been here since the D1 alpha. Sometimes I play an unhealthy amount, sometimes less. At the moment it’s on a downswing.

Logged a ton of hours in D1. I have a hard time bothering to log in anymore.

Destiny 2 is azz, and it makes me upset because of what this game could have been. Bungie worked hard and poured their heart and soul in the first destiny, and it showed. I could play D1 24/7 and enjoy every minute of it. Ive logged into this game and logged right back out during the loading screen more times than i could count. They have catered to all casual players in the crucible, allowing even the trash players to get kills (grenade launcher primaries, erentil, and not forgotten users mainly) and have completely ruined this entire franchise with the release of D2. This game could have been the best franchise in video gaming history, what a waste, and yes ive been here since early D1.

D2 is a slightly more annoy version of D1 but at least D1 wasn't so annoyingly complicated as D2 is. Every time I go back and play a little D1 I have fun... Ahh remember fun? Those were the days.

I’ve been here from the beginning, being excited about a new part of the story and game, I dragged my friends into playing with me in the beginning and due to how it feels in their words” too light, compared to how D1 feels” Now I play solo and just recently got my brother to play with me if only a few times a week The state of everything is rough, nothing feels refined or worth grinding
