Would the community like an SRL event?
Clearly this forum doesn’t represent the entire destiny community, but I’d still like opinions.
I would kindly like to ask bungie if there will ever be an SRL event in D2. It was a really fun event bungie gave us a couple of times in D1. It offered a nice break from the same ol’ same ol’ that is ‘the destiny grind’. I was hoping it would be brought back in D2 and am quite curious if it’s just been dropped entirely from the event list.
Not sure if this has been asked before in the forums, if so I missed it.

No!!!!! The question should be: “would the community want a SRL event if it meant the resources used to create it took away an exotic quest like Zero Hour”. Basically I would rather have bungie spend time on cool, meaningful content then designing maps where clowns can race their sparrows for no real reason at all. My advice: GO PLAY A RACING GAME!!!!

It’s NOT gonna happen. The content creators don’t think it would make good content and as long as Bungo goes to them and say, “SRL or…” then we’ll never see it. Simply put, you can’t post a “70-Kill Challenge” video about SRL or a guide to the new “challenging” content that rewards the newest weapon.

Crucible is on fire, they only have so many resources I would rather they fix the competitive shooting in a first person shooter before they introduce racing in a first person shooter....

SRL used to be an "after the raid" or "after trials" activity for us to all wind down and have a laugh. I'd be great to have it back. The last time Bungie commented on SRL in the forums they noticed how divided we were on it coming back in place of maybe something else. I hope they reconsider it.

I don’t understand how they haven’t made it a standard mode. Bungie didn’t realize we liked that mode.

3 RisposteSure I wouldn't mind if SRL was in rotation kind of like IB is when Saladin shows up in the tower. A plus if they have Amanda be the SRL NPC (feels like she's a wasted character who could be a lot more). Better yet, how about a racing mini-game instead of staring at a loading screen for 5 minutes during matchmaking.

According to Bungie though, it was extremely time consuming/expensive to make relative to other free content, and player metrics showed that player engagement wasn't high enough to justify it. Still I hope that some day it becomes more relevant for them to make.

It gave a full use to the Sparrows, and it was a game option that didn't involve gunplay making it much different than anything else in the game. PLEASE GIVE US SRL BACK!!!!!!! I loved completing the books and running the SRL suit with my New Monarchy Shader and Sparrow

Would much rather have across the board improvements to pvp both Quickplay options on playlists, 3v3 modes like skirmish and elim, more frequent sandbox updates (at least monthly), new maps and of course Trials. This is a shooting game not a racing game. Put the devs where they need to be.

5 RisposteI have a strong feeling the Micro Mini sparrow would ruin the races. As fast as all other sparrows but feels much more maneuverable. I'm not claiming it is, but it does feel like so. Much easier to fit in tight turns than on any other sparrow.
