seriously this whole thing has been a shitty soul crushing grind of the worst order. I derived no joy from this event other then exploring the EAZ (the map itself is fun, the event happening inside it is garbage.)
anyone else burnt out by the Solstice?
EDIT: so after a 24 hour Survey it seems that more then half of forum users (1,339/410) are burning the candle at both ends pretty hard as of this edit. if this is how Bungo plans to roll things out in the future they should be very careful as Activition can no longer be their sugar daddy to bail them out.
Edit 2: wow this really blew up, Maybe I should write a thesis on "toxicity of the vocal minority with'in communities and their effects on their Peers" using this thread as a source.

3 RisposteI find it funny that just a year ago or so, people were begging for more grind.
-
This ain't a grind! This is a Mega-Grind-The-Piss-Out-Of-You-A-Thon! This reminds me of curse of Osirus where everything was an artificial extension of a dlc expansion! This crappy armor grind is EXACTLY just that, except it's a smaller form of that, just not that much smaller! Still can't summon your sparrow on Mercury, see? Bungie did that to artificially make Mercury seem larger. The only reason I've hung on this long is that secret zone under the EAZ and the hope we get Gjallarhorn by finally getting the quest, which I have a feeling that too will be an extra extra grind on top of another grind. Other than that, I'm about to drop this XXL Super grind fest of a grinder, it's not a game anymore, it's a grinder!

I’ve done my Titan in 4 days, grinding hard, and was painful Now i’m doing my warlock, but this time without grinding and focusing on play smart, and i’m enjoying this more Obviously doing 10 Gambit matches in 1 day, is super annoying You can take up to an entire week per character and still have a week left Then of course depends on the other things you have to do in your life There are things that i would tune, like extending the expiration time of elemental orbs and make the miniboss kill count for teammates
-
4 Risposte4 weeks to do it, and after one week the hardcore are crying. Filthy casuals have all the time in the world.
-
I'm trying to get all characters to the step for Shattered Throne, then I'll worry about completing it. It is a soul destroying grind though.
-
Not burnt out, just not fun
-
8 RisposteIts only week one, we have a total of 4 weeks and as an event everything is optional. I don’t see why people need to finish everything asap. If you take it slow, do some of the requirements everyday and mix some stuff around you won’t get burned out.
-
10 RisposteDon’t we have like a month to work on this? Take a break if you’re feeling burnt out!
-
Im basically giving a bump to other people's replies but its not terrible and is only meant for those who are hardcore gamers wanting the title or immediate armor 2.0. Turning month long grinds into 3 day (maybe week) grinds is terrible for the game and its community
-
Its a grind but its lasts for a month and it’s completely pointless to do unless u want the seal. You are torturing yourself if you are doing it on more than one character or if you are trying to turn the month long grind into a 1-2 week grind.
-
9 RisposteOnly gonna get more grindy come Oct 1st. My theory is most of this forum is filled with more casuals who play on console than dedicated players who most likely play on pc and use reddit. Can’t wait to leave this wretched console behind as soon as cross save hits.
-
Dont have much time to play this week so I had to take an efficient approach on this one. 3rd character going with some gambit and few mini bosses left. Of course it helps when the game itself won't feel repulsive. I for example dont care crucible but few matches every now and then isnt too bad.
-
3 RisposteIt’s not as bad as last year.
-
you have a month time. no one said you should finish it in one week.
-
Nope, not burnt out. Just finished 1 set of armor and still have 3 more weeks to make 2 more if I so choose. People are burning themselves out, it's no fault but their own.
-
6 RisposteI powered through one set, it got pretty boring. I've been taking my time at the second and third set we have three more weeks do it won't feel like a chore. Also I'm pretty sure the masterwork is account wide so that's great.
-
Already done this event last year... Never again.
-
All I can say is I'm really glad they pushed shadowkeep back till Oct. 1st. I want to take a break from Destiny once solstice is over.
-
Got through my second set yesterday, just started my third. I can see why people would easily get burnt out grinding the armor. Although you do have a month to do it in, so its not like this Curse week will be the only one. Go your own pace and look up a recommended order to do the steps in.
-
So 23% believe the grind is fine.
-
I only did it on my main guardian account (Titan). There's not enough incentive or reward for me to do it on my Hunter and Warlock. That sparrow is not pushing me to do it. I was expecting far better rewards. Now if they would've say I don't know introduced solstice weaponry as well then sure or something along those lines.
-
Same as last year, this event is mostly a catch up mechanic for people that havent played in a while. Active players have little to no reason to partake. Fight the completionist addiction to check every box that the game provides.
-
I LOVE D2 but I switched to minecraft after 1 character was done. Coming from someone who has every pinnacle weapon but NF.
-
Modificato da $hirtless Captain Kirk: 8/6/2019 5:58:37 AMDefinitely way too much. Literally toxic to the game and community. I suggest emergency patch this reset to change some of the requirements. Gotta reward those that already did all of it as well if that occurs. This is super bad for the game right now.
-
I'm not even at blue armor and I'm hating it. People complain that pvp quests are bad, but I feel the same way about strikes. It's painful to do the gauntlets, and I'm only at 4 of my 10.
-
My pursuits page is filled with progress bars up the wazoo and more are piling up. A chunk of those can't be done solo because, let's be honest, in Destiny 2, solo = anathema. Haven't seen my fireteam in weeks, the last exotic we got together was Outbreak perfected. I'm not even half way the bad juju quest because I was too poor. I laid low the patch before this one because of all the errors, lag spikes and invisible players (Might be region related). When I got back, we have armor that requires a lot of grinding but may also render all our other armor useless. So personally, I thought this is the perfect time to step back and re evaluate because it's possible, a majority of what players do here, could be power creeped or be obsolete in a month or so.
