Soltice is burning out the player base.
seriously this whole thing has been a shitty soul crushing grind of the worst order. I derived no joy from this event other then exploring the EAZ (the map itself is fun, the event happening inside it is garbage.)
anyone else burnt out by the Solstice?
EDIT: so after a 24 hour Survey it seems that more then half of forum users (1,339/410) are burning the candle at both ends pretty hard as of this edit. if this is how Bungo plans to roll things out in the future they should be very careful as Activition can no longer be their sugar daddy to bail them out.
Edit 2: wow this really blew up, Maybe I should write a thesis on "toxicity of the vocal minority with'in communities and their effects on their Peers" using this thread as a source.

There are 3 weeks to do this. It's not even gone 1 week yet!!! Yes, it's a grind but no one has to do it.

1 RispondiSince the launch of D1 until about two weeks ago I happily grinded everything in this game. Now I get home from work, shower, eat, turn on ps and I just hesitate at launching destiny. I’m finally burned out. I may eventually finish one set of solstice armor. I’m on the blue set for my titan. I just have really no desire to grind.

Honestly so far the only parts that are starting to make me burn out is: The 100 EAZ Minibosses which I wouldn't say is hard just extremely tedious to do since it doesn't count the teams kills just your own. 10 Gambit matches as I just plain don't like Gambit full stop. 10 strikes, 10 public and heroic events and the 25 patrols on X planet again these aren't hard it's just the activities themselves are so dull and unrewarding that it's just mind numbingly tedious to do as most of us have done dozens of these over the years anyway. The rest like collect X orbs, collect X orbs while using X element weapon/subclass, kill X number of Y enemies, 5 challenges, X element weapon final blows and hell even the 50 bounties are a bit more exciting cause I can mostly pick and choose where I do these so I can have some degree of fun and work towards a goal at the same time. This is just my take on it, I'm not frothing at the mouth angry at this event like some people seem to be but at the same time I'm just disappointed that this "celebration" event is nothing more than tedious busy work for a month, that said I'm planning on getting all 3 sets to purple by the end so yeah.

I’ve done some of the work towards completing my blue set. I’m so f’ing bored. It’s just such a long grind with nothing as a reward along the way. It’s just tedious steps that completely wear out any welcome for any of the activities I’m doing. There’s no interesting event engrams, no interesting loot drops, just grind grind grind. Oh, but I’m allowed to use my quite limited bright dust or PAY for the glow shader. Gee, thanks. Really missed the mark with this event. Armor grind requirements needed to be halved at a minimum.

That’s why I’m glad shadowkeep got delayed. I’ll have a minimum of 3 weeks to take a break. Realistically, I’ll finish my 3rd by Friday/Saturday, so I’ll have even longer than that.

Many of my clan members are taking a break before Shadow and as a clan leader I’ve seen so many succumb to the grind . After 5 yrs of the grind it’s starting to wear thin . My guardians have looked like plebs for months now one extra month won’t hurt and it’ll be unlikely anyone will wear solstice armour in the future .

Solstice killed the game for me. I’ll come back for Shadowkeep, but atm I have no will to do anything in this game.

My plan was to do all 3 characters and I just got to the blue on my second character but I really doubt I push it at all on my 3rd. I might grab it and if it gets done fine if not oh well. I should be having fun while doing it and for the most part it has not been fun at all especially the 100 mini bosses that is just stupid even with the cheese but the cheese and the number of people using it just shows how bad it really is.

1 RispondiI looked at this event as a means of securing a (particularly good looking) armor set come Shadowkeep, I think that really helped put most of my suffering at ease with this year's Solstice.

tried starting my second character and went into Gambit and two of my team-mates were afking, so I completed my match and then I logged off. No way I'm grinding out another character

4 RisposteIt’s not really that much of a grind I’ll probably have all 3 fully masterworked by the end of tomorrow but it would be better if it wasn’t a free event so it could put in harder objectives like do a flawless raid or low man raid rather than do 10 matches

I literally don't want to do the armour at all. I'm 3/4 through the blue set and am just meh. Prefer playing pvp tbh..
