This stingy loot mentality has to go. Seriously. When held up next to Diablo, Borderlands, Warframe, and the Division, Destiny is one of the stingiest games that exists.
The menagerie chest exemplifies this. When given the ability and intentionality, people will grind a piece of content into a fine powder if they feel like the loot they seek from said content is attainable.
Mtashed(like or hate him idc) did a video about menagerie drops this week. He ground 70 Waking Vigil handcannons from menagerie. Thats approximately 10-12 runs(on PC) at 6-7 chests per run. HE STILL DIDN'T GET THE ROLL HE WAS LOOKING FOR!!!
This highlights a couple things:
1. The menagerie chest cheese is not "an issue that needs fixed". If anything, it needs implemented into the game in a way that doesn't require a relay race.
2. Menagerie is an indictment on the loot stinginess of the rest of the entire game. Looking for a specific roll on a weapon from any other game mode in Destiny? Hope you want to live in that playlist cause that's the only way you're even gonna have a chance at getting it.
With all of the potential weapon and armor rolls available in D2, this game should be RAINING LOOT, but it doesn't.
Crack the faucet open just a bit more Bungie. The menagerie chest cheese is proof that, when given the ability and motivation, people will play your game non stop for a chance at some good loot.

204 RisposteWe have got a lot of feedback about the Menagerie chest bug being fixed. I have seen a lot of suggestions on reaching a middle ground that still allows multiple rewards per run. Let me know your thoughts and I will pass them along to the dev team.

A guaranteed double drop with the perk providing a possible 3rd drop would be preferable... I understand but there are still a dozen things I want to grind for but I can't get the 1 drop I blew all certain runes to try and get. Which leaves me at this rate. Months away from even getting 2 of the drops with the roll I'm looking for. I'd also like to see this loot reward type system added to reckoning... Instead of runes putting in certain mote combos even if it doesn't allow a set masterwork i very much want to guarantee at least the friggin drop or even weapon vs armor drop IF it drops 2 rewards to make up for the lack of player curation in the loot rewarded. Also. Remove Blackout modifier. That would make reckoning less trash entirely. No Joke.

The amount of air assaults that i have rolled on that gun made me cry literally. It was thankfully not long after that i got some really good pvp rolls and decided on the one i wanted to keep and not long after that managed to roll a pve one. Didnt have great barrel or mag rolls but it has outlaw rampage which is good enough for me with a forced range MW. Point is, theres those of us that literally go through hundreds of rolls before even getting something thats remotely usable thanks to rng. Im fine with rng I have been an rpg player my literal entire life, but the amount of things that some guns can roll with needs to be drastically reduced. No one uses air assault and youre lying if you say you do. Without the chest glitch, i would have quit the menagerie a very long time as i dont slam my head into a wall for very long before going "eh i can live without this its ruining my enjoyment of the game to grind it." Which is how i currently feel about anarchy and always on time. I skipped my first week of SOTP last week. Its just not fun anymore to grind for them. rather spend my time doin crucible and getting better to go after legend then to slam my head into that wall that MIGHT come down finally. Edit: meant RPG not MMO but nearly same difference.

1 RispondiThis game is a shooter nerfer. There is very limited loot. So they have to restrict the fun i mean loot drops. And every season they nerf the previous meta making all the time you played to acquire said weapons/rolls worthless

2 RisposteSaw a clip where someone had 110 guns. He got the god roll finally, might be a second video to the one you menation as he had done before. To have to go through 180 guns before you get a decent god roll is beyond me. Then again, Im among many that got the 1000 voices on my first completion and I have clan mates that has opened 100 chests and still dont get it. I would never grind that much for something I can use 5 days before it is nerfed or meta switch to a new weapontype as it seems to fo constantly

Oh wait, the one that is a god roll is mysteriously in the corner, not where the rest of the Waking Vigils were, and it’s the exact same roll that I showed in the first video but I’m gonna act excited anyways”

You can single out your favorite time-gated (raid) or rare-ish non-or-limited-grindable item (some world armor/weapon drops, iron banner, etc.) and there is no avenue to EVER reliably have exactly what you want. (I'd love to have optimal Scourge armor, I'd wear it 24/7 but nope, it's mostly meh after 40 runs.) We have a "gunsmith" that can't even change the scope/sight on weapons he stocks. They really need to add a way to slowly but surely pick perks on your favorite items, even if it's only one perk node per account per week.

So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

I'd suggest a compromise of sorts. Maybe allow the player to transfer attributes when they infuse. Also, buff a few of the weaker attributes, so that people don't need a certain set of stats and nothing else.

Couldn’t agree more with this statement. I’ll even go further and say the old Menagerie weapons should rotate weekly. I ground one or two weapons out for 2 weeks and still not one true god roll, so I don’t see the problem. Would like to see retold tale and some of the unobtainable gambit prime weapons go in the pool.

Could not agree more. Took me about 35 runs with the chests "bug" to get the Beloved I wanted. I don't see myself running the Menagerie 140 times just to get 1 weapon I want. (140 times multiplying 35 runs with 4 chest runs each)

18 RisposteGood luck with this. Bungie has to severely inflate playtime to keep investors happy. Best way to do this is to lock loot and make obtaining it extremely difficult so bungie can make you grind for it thus inflating playtime. Then they either nerf that weapon/perk or change the meta. Rinse, wash, repeat. This shows not that we NEED bugs like menag chest glitch, we need more AND better loot/perks but bungie has run their idea pool completely dry hince D1 exotics returing, putting in random rolls to increase the grind for tha "god roll" ect ect. Bungie will never change from this because then it would make streamers and youtubers irrelevant because then thy wouldnt be "good". Nobody likes seeing their favorite streamer or tuber get wrecked 9/10, they want to see them doing the wrecking. Bungie does this by making the best stuff almost impossible for the average or even semi-hardcore player to get. See recluse, NF, LH, ect ect. Of everyone could get it then streamers and tubers would get completely demolished, they lose veiwers, they stop playing, bungie loses free promos. So i don bother to grind for these god rolls. I got lucky on my austringer and calus mini dropping within my first few runs before i even knew the glitch existed. I played menag to just play with friends, didnt really care about loot after i got mine, wouldnt have touched it again but i enjoy playing with friends. I wont go after any pvp pinnicles because pvp, especially comp, is absolute garbage in every aspect. If its a raid exclusive oh well, ive done 1 raid and we did the wish wall for the final encounter, once. After grinding out izanagi i have no desire to grind exotics ever again. Bad Juju wont even be a top priority for me, if it happens great, if not oh well im not missing anything really. Its all about inflating playing for garbage loot to keep investors, streamers, and tubers happy. The rest of us dont matter to bungo

Menagerie has given you the chance to pick the actual loot you want, takes a few minutes to do, and because of a glitch you feel you don't get enough loot? there is ample loot in this game, you delete loot by the tons. who cares if some youtube personality farmed 70 of one weapon and "didn't get the roll he wanted." that was his choice to do that.
