Just curious what others are speculating at the moment regarding the way things get left in the previous year of content. Not sure if that was a Bungie idea or Activisipn but I’d love to know what everyone else is thinking or if it’s been confirmed anywhere and I’ve missed it.

With the new system, you'll be able to apply any perk to any piece of armor, so the only gear that will be useless is gear that doesn't have a pleasing appearance to you.
-
2 RisposteLove how people are bringing up borderlands 3 when borderlands is even more grinder than destiny
-
5 RisposteMe but I'm sure people are still gonna use the recluse crutch.
-
4 RisposteWelcome to loot chasing games, where periodically your old gear is rendered useless to keep you collecting new stuff. The only thing shocking is how people apparently don't get this is a thing.
-
That's pretty much guaranteed. If it doesn't happen I'd be more surprised!
-
If that happens, I definitely wont purchase Shadowkeep.
-
15 Risposteit will for sure , because you cant transfer items from Destiny2 to Borderlands 3
-
I'm assuming the gear will function and the perks will be relevant, but that the new gear will be so much more desirable - similar to how year 1 static gear without mods / enhanced perks compares to the current pool. Given the latest blog post about the eververse armor conversion to ornaments, I am choosing to look at most of the gear in my vault as more legendary shards. I admit that might be the glass half-full point of view.
-
I think our guns will be fine but yeah the armour is gonna be left behind most likely which im fine with for the most part.
-
Happens every year they’ve made the grind much easier I thought .

7 RisposteThat's what this game is now, rinse and repeat. There's no long term growth, the levels and LL are just a place to have to pay your dues before you can go do the latest content. Destiny isn't even scrounging up a million players during the peak of new content releases anymore, it's not for everyone and it's a fairly common thing for people to compare this game to a job these days. So anyways, yes. Bungie would create no incentive to play if the gear in the latest content wasn't worth chasing down. Well outside of collecting and friendship anyways.
-
Of course it will be better than current gear. Every large update increases the gear level. If it didn't, no one would bother playing it. The first blue drop you get will likely be higher. It may not have all the perks, but it will be higher. Take a hiatus from Destiny for a little while...come back and feel like you are really progressing again. ;D

I think it's kind of a mixed bag leaning in the positive direction. As long as the gear gets an overhaul (like what they're doing now with Shadowkeep and adding random rolls like they did with Forsaken) then it's an overall positive change. I'll take a good overhaul as a trade-off for losing old gear any day. With that said, it would be nice for old gear to get the overhaul too. As it stands, most gear is cosmetic in essence. Enhanced v not enhanced perks are the only real deviations outside of raid gear. I really see no point in switching gear sets around or keeping various gear sets other than raid stuff like the CoS (because of unique mod slots) set because there is no real advantage to different sets other than looks. I find myself just collecting the raid gear each new season and using that because it's the most relevant for the most difficult activity the game offers at that time. (Except last season, because I don't love gambit, so I ran Tangled Web gear, because it's awesome looking)
-
Yes, it will. Gear is now literally just for looks, it will have no statistical value, nor will it have mods statically rolled onto it. they're all getting stripped away for a pick what you play style. it's the future guardian.
-
If it is I will quick Destiny 2, just like I did with Destiny 1 as soon as The Taken King arrived.
-
3 RisposteThey've released some positive news regarding armor ornaments, but I'm still sure that there's a "-blam!- you" heading our way beneath the waves. Time will tell.
-
If once I finish this iron banner armor quest and bungie makes yr2 armor obsolete, that’ll be it for me.
-
1 RispondiMy guess is it will all be dismantled for investment into the new stuff. Like how they did at the end of year 1, IIRC. I’m okay with it, anything old will pale in comparison to what’s coming.
-
If the new stuff is better, who cares?
-
The only thing they need to do is make every single piece of gear in game be viable again , every planet set , every specialty set ( raid , escalation , iron banner , vanguard , faction , etc... ) A way to add whatever stat/ability we want ( sniper reload , grenade throw , super recharge etc.....) to any piece of gear in game not just the new stuff . Or random rolls but with current stats . So if you like the EDZ set you can go farm it with current viable stats then upgrade it to current Power lvls .
-
Honestly don't know. A couple of months ago, I'd have said definitely. Now I'm not so sure, they seem to be moving in the right direction.
-
With all the changes coming it doesn’t matter to me if our current gear won’t be converted. The changes seem like they’ll be well worth a minor short term setback imo.
-
8 RisposteUm.... In the vidoc they showed year 1 armor , everything's going into armor 2.0 This thread shows how dense some people are, Bungie announces sweeping armor improvements , and making all our gear relevant . Forums:"Will our gear be useless come september?"
-
Either they update the armour y2 atleast to open up to how it was in the ViDoc or they will just make Version 2 of all the gear liek the did with exodus in menagerie.
-
Not the eververse stuff!

Modificato da Erijian: 6/19/2019 11:40:56 PMIf I had to guess it's going to follow a similar trend to Y1 and to a lesser extent pre-Opulence armor. Y1 gear has no random perks, can be infused up and have mods socketed Pre-Opulence gear has no Opulence mod slot, can still be infused and socket mods Pre-Shadowkeep gear has no transmog options, can be infused and socket certain mods depending on version of gear
