What do you prefer - DLC's or Seasons?
I prefer DLC's myself. I feel like they have more in them on the whole.

With the season pass there is a constant stream of new things to do. A mix of the 2 would get my vote. For example: a ‘comet’ size DLC every september, with an anual pass to keep things going throughout the year.

Forsaken was followed by the season pass and I've enjoyed that format.

Unfair comparisons in poll. Those are (but for rise to an extent) major expansions. Try comparing Curse oO, warmind, dark below...etc. content was was good/ok but was done with in a month or so with nothing to do for several months. I like this new approach BUT would like to see a tweak. Add at least 1-2 new strikes and pvp maps. Shit, repurpose some old shit even. And maybe a slight 5 or so story missions. Just a little taste. The constant things to do with only minimal downtime until new stuff is great. Now I didn’t play this recent one (until now to get to 700) because I hate gambit. No biggie. Got to play other games and take a break. I think if they do this again they learned from drifter dlc. Can’t have a new dlc surround one type of game mode that people may not like and that’s it.

It’s only fair if you compare the smaller DLC’s (TDB/CoO/Warmind ect) to the season passes. Content wise the seasons are pretty much identical to the smaller DLC minus the story missions and a strike or two but are cheaper to compensate. Me personally I would prefer DLC but honestly the season pass is completely fair and adds a good amount of content

You notice the DLCs listed are the best ones? What if it listed The Dark Below and Curse of Osiris instead?

They have their ups and downs. With dlcs you get major updates with cutscenes, a campaign, and some big bad raid boss. Downside is you get a dlc, the nothing for months until the next dlc. Seasons you have something going on every week and I believe that's bungie's intent with doing seasons instead of dlc.

DLC’s. Stick to what you know, DLC’s guarantee hype and content whereas Antal passes are too vague and lacklustre. Annual passes feel like free mini updates that are irrelevant after a couple of months

I wanna say DLC, but looking back I actually can't. I mean forsaken was a good size, but osiris and warmind were so disappointing that I actually walked away from d2, only returning a few weeks ago. I'm curious to see what bungo can do with the whole season setup.

The Annual Pass is DLC. I don't care how Bungie addresses it, I don't care that they address each new expansion as a Season instead of a proper title, that is not what a Season is. It is content that was added to the game after the base game launched which requires us to spend money to access. That is the definition of a DLC. Now let's look at other games that do have Seasons: Diablo 3, Overwatch, and Fortnite. They get content added in every few months. Do they have players pay money to access it? No. They don't. It's fine if you want to try the Season model with your game, but don't put a price tag on it and say that's what it is. Because all you're doing is trying to fool players into thinking it's something else.

1 RispondiYou do realize that these aren’t comparable right? Seasons were never meant to replace large content drops like the taken king they are meant to replace small dlc like curse of Osiris. We’re about to get information on the next large content drop for this fall, which will probably be similar to a rise of iron or forsaken amount of content with some info on the next annual pass. Obviously everybody is going to prefer large content drops If the question is seasons vs the small dlcs, than personally I think season are monumentally better. The seasons aren’t something that you can run trough and finish in a few hours of playtime, it’s nice that we are continuing to get content, however large or small, as the months go on in the season

To be fair, outside of strikes and crucible maps, the annual pass had more content than all other dlc besides ttk and forsaken. It have us more activities (like forges, gambit prime/reckoning, and the 6 player activity in opulance) , exotics, legendary weapons , raids. It's not that the annual pass lacked content, it just didn't have any maps , strikes, or story missions. anarchy,izanagi's, last word, le monarch, jotunn, escape artist. Strong hold, lairs handshake, outbreak perfected, thorn, arbalest, lumina,PEREGRINE GREAVES!!!!, kapris sting, that one useless warlock exotic, truth, and wherever else is in opulance. [spoiler]yes i know a lot are d1 exotics and some were available without the season pass but the point still stands, if all this was released in 1 dlc, it be the 3rd largest content drop.[/spoiler]

5 RisposteCan we get a third option that's not so lopsided? I'd actually be for another Forsaken-ish release followed by another Annual Pass. Though I would like to see the Annual Pass model improved a little to include at least one new strike and one new Crucible map per season.

Rearrange your comparison. Seasons compared to the the two dlc format per year.

You’re.. comparing apples to oranges here. You should have compared seasons to smaller dlcs instead of major ones
