Do you want enhancement cores removed from infusion?

Yes

2285

No

249

Just provide more sources

544

Don’t care

261

Just curious Edit: It was pointed out to me that I should be more specific. I mean enhancement cores removed from infusion, not everything Edit 2: just wanted to clarify, I am not for enhancement cores being removed from infusion. I really don’t care, I have plenty enough for my needs. I was just curious how many people were like me, and how many people really wanted them removed

No real need to be honest 3 easy reasons why 1. You dont need to have powerful gear equipped to get max power drops. 2. The only thing you need max power for currently is reckoning. 3. Being max power in unnecessary activites simply caps you and you deal no more damage to enemies then if you were at the required light So if you love ace of spades you can use it across every activity and not be handicapped for it, you can use your favorite gear and be just fine in every activity When you are ready to run tier 2 or 3 reckoning you infuse 3 choice weapons and 1 exotic armor (costing you around 8 cores) and do it. When you hit max power you infuse your favorite set of armor and weapons up costing you 16 cores. Total cost with running reckoning before 700 power includes = 24 cores. That's no alot. It costs more to masterwork a single weapon then to infuse an entire set of 5 armor and 3 weapons. If anything the masterwork cost should be lowered, infusion cost doesn't need it The only people I can see having a core problem are either: A) New players, easily resolved by doing the bounties by drifter that get you to 640 then you're in the same boat as every other player and just need to get 24 cores B) Players that have OCD and must infuse thier favorite item into their +3 light drop for no reason, they dont need it power wise as they can continue to run with thier favorite item at 3 less light for anything not-reckoning, it's simply because they see something they can infuse and suddenly have to. That being said I couldn't care less of they remove it or not, but examining it realistically there is no real need to do so

    • I personally have no issue with them. I rarely infuse until I get to max light

    • Not sure how accurate the poll is as it seems more people use reddit than this forum. That being said since season of the drifter started I have been getting more and more cores. I have infused all four sets on each character up to 700 and am back to where I was before season the drifter started. I am not probably going to master work any of them because as soon as I’m done with the reckoner seal I probably won’t set foot in prime for awhile. We will see though.

    • Destiny as a series had always had a currency, or other slog style requirement for leveling. Vanilla D1, legendaries could turn to blues, etc. They were legitimately rare. You also HAD to raid to get max level, the only gear that had max potential was raid great. You had to earn periods, by gaining xp with the gear on. On top of that, every perk had to be unlocked with a host of materials, ranging from character specific materials, planetary materials you had to collect yourself, and legendary mats that only dropped from endgame activities (just like enhancement cores, only worse), etc. Infusion wasn't a thing. Your old gear was always old gear. Eventually they gave pvp options for max gear, but they kept the material requirements the same. When Crota came, we got a new version of our endgame mats, another garbage but if the economy to tangle with. Same frigging item, new name. Masterwork cores, meet Enhancement cores. In HoW they tried to appease some of the player base by giving us another brand new, rare, endgame mat that could be used to bring older legendaries up to the current max. Much celebration was had, though there was grumbling over the rarity. In TTK, they threw everything in the trash. It was a breath of fresh air for some, and a slap in the face for others. Your hard earned great that your invested in was locked behind Y1 levels, no ifs ands or buts. Hardcore endgame players had to wear greens and blues like the rest of the community. They also finally gave us infusion, but it was pricey AND risky. You could try infusing something, and actually lose power level. If you lucked out, you'd get a point or two increase, even from much higher gear. I left the game at this point, so some of the details may be a little blurry. They finally caved and gave us 1:1 infusion. We could also infuse across different classes. They also gave us an insanely expensive way to buy the mats, if you just needed some in a pinch. We got Motes of light, to use pre-earned xp, to level new gear. Things weren't great, but headed in a good direction. Rambling and reminiscing aside, my point is, we've always struggled with economy, reward, and investment. They came close at the end of D1, but just like TTK, D2 can't out and threw everything in the trash, giving us a while new system. They have tried time and time again to get us to play the game they want us to, and eventually caved when our whining became too much. We as a community need to do one of two things. -Accept the economy and game for what it is. Adapt, overcome, and enjoy the good things that do exist. OR -Stop playing the game. This constant battle of wills is helping none of us, and as much as change has helped the game, it's also destroyed it. When the game was unbearable, I quit. If it's unbearable for you too, please do yourself and the game well, leave. Just like I did, you can come back later on and see if it's in a better place. Do not torture yourself playing something that only makes you angry, when ultimately, this does not matter. I don't like Enhancement cores. I'd like to see them gone. But, to me, it's not worth leaving for. Maybe it is for you. And that's ok.

      • Provide more sources Lower/Fix price costs (Spider) Keep the Scrapper Bounties (helps with completing Bounties for Ikora too) And if Banshee is gonna have Weapon Parts Bounties that return Enhancement Cores, then make them worth the while (not too painstakingly grindy & worth the effort, not be Disengagement Chores) Oh and Bungie, make ALL the Spider Wanted Bounties return enhancement cores, & Weekly PowerfulGear Challenges return (3-7) cores too

        • A flat charge of 15 LS at Spider should solve the problem, the current escalating cost is a slap in the face of player as they grind to master work their favourite weapons.

        • I have never seen an issue with cores in all honesty, but i understand that that is not a common opinion. All we need is more reliable sources like the scrapper bounties, bungie should not be getting rid of those, i get more from scrapper bounties than any other sources

        • I would love to have different armor sets for different types of builds and do end game content. As is, I cannot do this because of MWC. The cost to do so is just to high and the resource is just too rare. I can also just forget about Masterworking weapons.

            • I wish they’d just bring back the level up system for the guns like early D1, unlock all the tree perks then once fully leveled it unlocks the masterwork option that works like the catalysts for exotics, getting kills with the weapon levels up the masterwork or you can use enhancement cores to speed up the process of fully master working the weapon (if you want). They want people to have meaningful choices with leveling up the gear we own or like, nothing more meaningful than spending quality time with your shooty gun.

              • This should really be more specific. I want Cores removed from the cost of Infusion. For Masterworking they're totally necessary and, in fact, should be rarer than they are now. It should also be pointed out that there has been one previous poll on this very topic, "remove cores from Infusion" won by a HUGE and significant margin from the other choices, and despite all of this vast empirical data that suggests players are not satisfied with the devs' stance on Cores, the devs aren't budging one bit.

                • Yes. Because increasing the number of them available still makes infusion conflict with masterworking. I've never masterworked a Y2 weapon, and only done armor pieces that came at L4... it burns too many potential infusions.
