Here are some rules that EVERYONE needs to know if they want to get into a Gambit match and NOT have the rest of your team throw their gaming platform thingy out the nearest window.
Rule 1: (the most important one) I do not care, how good, how amazing, how spectacular, how confident, how incredibly breathtaking you think you are at Gambit. When you hear the Drifter scream "Bank and you'll summon a Primeval." or one of the other 50 phrases he says, that means...
STOP: I do NOT care what the heck your doing, the second the Drifter says you can summon a primeval, that means you run as fast as you can to the bank, and drop in your motes, I don't care if you are one hit away from killing that random yellow-bar servitor, I don't care if you have your super charged and there is a big group of enemies just BEGGING to be killed, you STOP and you bank your f***ing motes. You bank your motes, you summon your Primeval, you win (usually)
Rule 2: Stop always going for a large blocker! there are so many times when sending over 4 small blockers can be WAY more effective then sending over one large blocker that gets melted in 4 seconds if the other team is smart enough to focus their fire on it. Especially because the small blockers can push your enemies off ledges, getting rid of any motes they had. Sure a large blocker could also kill some people, (not really) but nine times out of ten, a few small blockers can be way more effective than one large blocker.
Rule 3: STOP INVADING RANDOMLY! I don't care if you think it's your turn to invade in Gambit, stop just randomly invading when you have nothing, only to die, lose all 15 of your motes (another mistake; invading with motes) and then scream in the mic how the other team is hacking. ONLY invade when you have
a: Your Super
OR
b: Power ammo
Now it's not like if you don't have these when you invade you're automatically not going to get any kills, but it would most certainly help to have them when you invade.
Rule 4: Kill the wizards first! This one not many people may know about, but if you kill the wizards that spawn near the primeval when it spawns in you will be able to deal more damage to the Primeval, so it is always a good idea to quickly clear out those wizards before engaging the primeval.
Rule 5: Do not invade the moment the enemy gets their primeval. Trust me, this does absolutely nothing, save that invasion portal for when they have started to deal a bit of damage to their primeval to reset their progress (and remember rule 3 before invading) if you invade right as they spawn their primeval, sure you may kill them and set them back a tiny bit, but you would be doing so much more if you just wait until their primeval has taken a bit of damage before invading.
Rule 6: If you have zero motes, and there is an invader, well congratulations buddy, chum, pal, friend, amigo, (insert other friendly words here) you have just earned the title of invader finder/killer. If you have zero motes, stop cowering in a corner, and go hunt down the invader, kill him before he can kill you. Besides, it's not like hiding will actually do anything as the invader can see where you are through walls.
Rule 7: Always try to focus down blockers. Oh hey! would you look at that! There's a big ol' taken knight standing right beside your bank and he's really upset so he's not gonna let you bank your motes, so what's the logical thing to do? Kill him! or her, I don't know, do Taken have genders?
Anyway, legit though, focus down the blockers, because guess what, all those motes your collecting really don't mean anything if there's still a blocker in your path, preventing you from banking any motes.
Anyway, this has gone on long enough, those are some (yea, there's more) of the basic rules you should know before heading into your next gambit match.
And BTW don't think I'm telling you that you HAVE to follow these rules to the word and only focus on winning and not on having fun. NO that is not what I am saying, I am just trying to help you with some tips on how to be better at Gambit, and trust me, the better you are at something, the more fun it is (usually). By all means, have fun! It's a video game, after all, it's supposed to be played for fun! However, I can guarantee you that your team will be very thankful if you know these basic rules.

Now, eyes up guardian, go have some fun. :)
EDIT: To all the people who think this was just copied and pasted. (Particularly one individual, who's name I shall not say) this was NOT copied from some random website or something. Do I claim that these pieces of advice are mine and mine only? NO these are pieces of advice that I found from videos, playing the game, and watching others play the game. If there is some trick or website where you verify if this is copied then by all means do so. But I can assure you that this was not copied and pasted from reddit, or from another post on the forum, or whatever other website you may think. I wrote this. Am I claiming that I invented these rules? NO I am NOT I know I did not make these rules. I am not taking ownership of them.

I swear it’s like everyone else is trying to do that 15 motes at once challenge and they expect you to do it with them
-
Tip #1 don't play solo
-
I just gambit now and then for just doing something else. Its not that great but its okay.
-
3 RisposteGambit is so toxic. I’m playing right now for the breakneck and I got a message telling me to stop reviving teammates because they’re trying to throw the matches?!
-
2 RisposteGot Breakneck yesterday (on my Titan) and have almost reset Gambit for 4th time. Seen it all now and believe me, those that won't follow this advice are beyond help anyway. Gonna give Gambit a swerve for a little while, unless friends need another body. Talk about overkill.
-
Great post guardian 👏.
-
5 RispostePlayed against a four stack last night that I swear was banking every time they got to 5 motes. At one point we had 8 small blockers on our bank because we weren’t paying attention and they just kept spewing! It was a nightmare
-
8 RisposteThose are the rules you 'should' follow... However. These are the rules. 1. At least 1 member should be afk. 2. Always gather 14 motes then die. 3. Enemies spawning at one end of the map? You go to the other end. 4. Go afk. 5. Enough motes to summon? Get yourself 10 more then die. 6. Invader inbound? Gather more motes then die. 7. Hog heavy spawn, invade then die. 8. Go afk. 9. Enjoy! 😜🤣🤣🤣

2 RisposteI agree pretty much with all the rules you listed. The one I’ve been playing with as of late is number 5...not invading immediately. I used to firmly believe that as well, however lately there are teams that have figured out how to melt he boss more quickly. Sometimes if you wait til they’re down 75 percent health you’ve waited too long. When you invade early, I’ve found most players flee and while it doesn’t impact primeval health, it does impact their coordination and slow their progress.

Modificato da CORE SwarmFIRE13: 12/1/2018 3:46:29 PMAlso, invade if you have the option. Sometimes I would be forced to invade with my auto rifle because all my teammates left to go get motes. The enemy had a ton of motes so I did my best but got like 2 kills.
-
Wow you actually care enough about that sham of a game mode to write a novel about it hahhahhahahaha
-
Ha, I feel like Gambit is a slog (especially with AFK'ers these days), but these are definitely rules to live by. Good lookin' out Guardian.
-
One caveat to rule 3. If you have a primary/secondary sniper with a good deal of ammo AND CAN USE SAID SNIPER, invade.
-
You forgot also if your teammate needs 1 more mote to send a blocker of any size don't be a dick and push him or her away from it. The game mode is suppose to be about teamwork not I gotta collect everything so -blam!- everybody else.
-
I often invade without power because other people take it and I’m often the only one getting guardian kills and I still do fine. But I also have more than 26 matches.
-
7 RisposteActivision: how do we get the player base to hate the new game mode? Bungie: we could make them play 40 games of it just to get a dog shit autorifle. Destiny Player Base: we love repetitive gameplay for lackluster rewards!
-
I feel your pain.
-
That’s a lot of rules. You sound like a whole lotta fun 🙄
-
10 RisposteI find it odd that a player with the highest character at 543 would make this at all. I find it odd that the last time player was in a gambit match was November 10th. I find it odd that player has a total of 26 gambit matches. Of which the player lost 15 and won 11. Take all of these and it’s very odd that such a player would take the time to make such a post. Feels like this was cut and pasted somewhere else. Not saying the info is bad just seems odd that someone with this gambit history would be making this kind of post.
-
13 RisposteMost important rule, if a team wins the opening round then let them win the second round. 40 gambit matches gets boring after a while lol
-
1 RispondiI think one of my teammates took this advice a little too seriously. I was 1 more off getting that 100 motes banked without dying, and this one Hunter sprinted to the bank as soon as he heard the words, banked, and summoned the Primeval. I was not very happy.
-
9 Risposte
Now, eyes up guardian, go have some fun. :)
You might actually come off as "friendly and helpful" and get people to actually consider what you've said in this post if every single line didn't come off as the single most stereotypical assnugget with a I-only-ever-lose-cause-my-teammates-suck denial complex this side of the Xbox Call of Duty forums
-
1 RispondiSo...
nerf fusion rifles?
-
6 RisposteYou sound like a huge dick and i pray to the gods to never game with you.
-
9 RisposteRule 1- it’s your game play it how you want and don’t listen to geeky try hards. They have no life and feel the need to supervise and boss everyone because in real life they are just skinny little dweebs with tiny penises that never get used. Rule 2- start getting swoll
-
You guys are killing yourselves making these long winded posts about how to play like people who don’t already know are the ones that come here. Also, what you’ve laid out here aren’t rules, it’s strategy.
