I'm seriously under the impression that Bungie nerfs you if you perform well.

Where shots seem to pass through enemies. Where aiming is suddenly too heavy or too light. Where your shotgun doesn't kill for explicably no reason. Where trading happens when they shouldn't. Where you face full stacks while running solo. Where Supers take almost no damage whatsoever. It's like Destiny 2 has a huge factor in 'fake difficulty', but is so subtle in hiding it. I mean, Bungie was caught throttling XP gain, what else could they be doing?

    The full stacks thing is just stupid. Just because they put a 4 stack together doesn’t meant they’re good. I’ve been grinding through comp solo, and I’ve won more against 4 stacks than 2 or no stacks.

  • Nothing puts you in your place better than when your on a 7 win streak in gambit then Bungie decides you should join a team that only has one player and the opposing team already has there primeval

    • Last night my friend and I saw this in action. Damn near every game it was him and I on top with our 4 blue berries going negative. And we started seeing a pattern with the spawn system. Seems like if you go on any type of kill streak and die the game will just give you awful spawns for a few lives. The last game we played last night I did very well the first half and then literally the entire second half of the match was basically spawn killed over and over until the game ended. The game would literally spawn me next to the entire enemy team and I’d be dead before I could get out of the spawn in animation. 😑

    • Earlier today I think this was the case to a poor fellow player. The said player shoulder charged me and all it did was push me away LMAO I took 0 damage .

      • I noticed this, especially last night's run. I mean, I got 2 exotic drops from gambit during 2 entirely different matches but after my solid 5 streak, it went to straight hell. Grenade damage wasn't there, shots missed when they should have hit. Full shotgun to the face with hardly any damaged........ yeah da hell bungo?

      • Me and my friends joke about this all the time. It's strange how one can go from a bunch of 30+ kill games with a 3.5 KD to a bunch of 11 kill games with a 1.5 KD even though you're facing the same opponents, doing the exact same thing you've been doing, but now for whatever reason everything you do is far less effective. I almost feel like ghost bullets are an actual mechanic that increases based on your consecutive performance. There's been gun fights i recorded and played back and watched my reticle be directly on someones head but whe i shot nothing happened to them.

      • Sometimes I wonder if Damage Referee goes in the opposite direction: suddenly a player is godly and even if they were to use a butterknife your super still wouldn't be enough to down them.

(It’s called bloom, and it’s to make sure everything isn’t a laser beam all the time, it wouldn’t be fun if it was) Where aiming is suddenly too heavy or too light. (Adjust sensitivity) Where your shotgun doesn't kill for explicably no reason. (Shotguns have pellet spread, it’s a part of the game.) Where trading happens when they shouldn't. (Welcome to latency, look it up) Where you face full stacks while running solo. (Sucks that matchmaking is a thing, and would take considerably more time to actually put you with only solo players, huh?) Where Supers take almost no damage whatsoever. (Welcome to masterwork armour) I’m by no means defending destiny, but this complaining is just kinda ridiculous.

          • Whether Bungie is throttling or not, to me, this is a game I play for entertainment. Rewards, progressions, etc, "feed" me by keeping my interest and keep making it fun. To me, that includes figuring out what works best in any environment or situation. I have no control over any of what Bungie or other players decide to do, so I adjust to whatever comes my way and accept that I'm a great target in Crucible :p If it were easy, it wouldn't be any fun! and, FYI: Hunters rule, Titans drool!

          • Definitely don't doubt this but it leaves two burning questions: WHY? What idiot would think this is a good idea? And HOW? The amount of programming alone required to pull this off would have to be amazing...

            • Why is easy, to keep all things level on win/lose. If there was a larger player base and proper servers sbmm would work and everyone would be equally skilled. The top 10% complained previously about any sbmm because it made their games too hard-- much easier to stomp lower skilled players. The how, same kinda thing as the buff that builds when you don't get something like a nightfall exclusive. Wins add up to a debuff kind of mechanic lose a few and it's a buff. How that effects things could be anything from more likely to match teams or more skilled players, or the reverse.

            • I’ve consistently been getting we Ran Out Of Medals and for the most part 3+kds in almost of my quickplay matches. That was roughly two days ago. Yesterday I got a we Ran Out Of Medals and unbroken in comp. bungie isn’t nerfing you. You just sucked or played better people

              • If we had matchmaking that matched us against similar skilled teams every game it would get boring you would never be given the chance to see what you can do against a team that is way better than you,, you couldn't feel good about getting a 50 bomb and carrying your team to victory because everyone would be the same skill level. Bungie is using the same matchmaking skills they had in halo but the community keeps getting worse the crucible is so bad to you because you made it that way you asked for this because you don't actually know what you want.

                • Inconsistent* I'm very skeptical of the argument that Bungie rigs the game to keep you from winning too much. I have not had this experience of wildly differing damage dealt. Given the circumtances of random rolls and new gun perks, its easy for me to believe that you got owned by one guy with an excellent Trust roll and skills that surpass you, and then joined a match with a team of poor trust rolls and little skill. This is more likely than Bungie rigging the game. when you threw a pulse grenade in one round its likely your enemies resilience was high enough to stave off the brunt of the attack. Second time may have been a low resilience enemy. Again, way more likely than Bungie rigging the crucible. There seems to be a lack of though process on your end as to why these things may have happened, in the interest of posting a buzzy controversial topic on Bnet.

                • I suspect this is a little paranoid and you are focussing on the negative. Yes I've been shot through walls too - but law of averages states that I must have also shot someone through a wall right? It's not the whole world against you. When something bad happens there is a tendency to externalise it, when something good happens that was all your skill right? There is no possible reason I can think of for a games developer to behave in the way you suggest.

                  • oh yeah definitely bungies fault that im not good at crucible. the evidence is clear!! I can dominate in 007 on n64 like no other but when i play crucible you would think that I would dominate since I have mad skills in 007 so those should carry over like any other shooter but no bungie knows my 007 skills and has nerfed me for some grudge or something like that. So yes i think you are right from my own personal experience I totally agree.

                    • I def. notice a big fluctuation in weapon damage & aim assist between matches. Whether that is intentional or just a result of poor netcode I don't know. What I do know is, my internet works fine in other online shooters, so it must be poor game design.
