Sleeper is kinda game breaking in Gambit
It’s honestly an issue. You either Use a sleeper in gambit or you’re at a severe disadvantage against invaders or when you’re invading...

3 RisposteThere could be an easy fix for this: Set Invaders Heavy Ammo to 0 for the Invade. They already have an overshield and can see every Enemy Player. That should be enough.

16 RisposteDisagree 100%. Sleeper is no different than using a sniper. They are both one hit kills. Both are at the mercy of someone who knows how to rush correctly and knows how to evade. Tip 1. STAY OUT OF SNIPING LANES. This of course will come with map knowledge. Right now, only those who play Gambit religiously have a good feel for sniping lanes in the maps. Keep playing and you will start to learn them. Tip 2. SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. The enemy invade portal opens at 25 motes deposited, and again at 50 motes deposited. If you aren't paying attention, you could be in a vulnerable spot when they pop in. So, when you see they have deposited 25 motes, keep working on your add killing, but stick close to cover. Additionally, you can spread out to the 4 different locations on the map and try to spawn kill them. From my experience, they never spawn where you are currently fighting ads. Tip 3. MAP TRICKS. Some maps have tunnels, some have portals, than can get you to other locations on the map quickly. When you are being invaded, hop in a portal and teleport to another side of the map. Good for evasion or for getting behind the attacker. Tip 4. Play aggressive against snipers and sleepers. Get in their face quickly and keep a close range weapon as one of your options. Tip 5. STOP ASKING FOR NERFS. This ruins great weapons all because of ONE game type. Don't be that guy.

I think you might be right you don’t even need to hit near them just in their direction and always hits I’ve dodged the beam and it still hits me it’s not like a sniper that someone else said in the comment section the beam is too thick

5 RisposteNo. The gun is not the problem. Sleeper is just fine for PvE [i]and[/i] Crucible. What makes it perfect for Gambit are the terrain and wall hack given to invaders. Cry more about that and leave the gun alone.

1 Rispondi90% of the people I see in gambit are using sleeper, if the gun was fine as it is then everyone wouldn't be using it. One thing I'm sure about is that the destiny community gravitates towards using the most overpowered and broken setups. The fact that so many people use it is proof itself that the gun is not ok.

I concur... Not sure how to fix it but I am sick of Getting sleepered from across the map when I have no idea where the invader is.. I think maybe heavy should be lost when u use the portal... U have 3x shield a super grenades and 2 other weapons leave the heavy when u cross the portal

My exotic of choice is usually Riskrunner. But then, I'm not great at precision shooting. I'm the one who excels at getting hit. And since Riskrunner is all about getting hit... well, there you go.

I've played a lot of gambit, and banked a lot of motes, even have over half the triumphs completed already. Honestly, the problem that I have with Sleeper is that it is meta and I'm just kind of tired of seeing it. Not that it's one shot killing me, because a lot of guns or a decent super from an invader can do that anyway, just that it's run it or be at a disadvantage. It is the easiest weapon to kill either invaders or as an invader with. It's also one of the absolute best weapons for burning down the primeval. My problem stems from how it one shot kills anyone and how it's such high damage against the primeval. It is the only weapon I have seen run that's able to kill someone, even if they have an over shield, with a body shot. I also ran Whisper instead of Sleeper for boss killing just to see if I could do comparable damage, the damage is definitely comparable but Whisper is infinitely more punishing because you have to quickly hit precision shots. Not so with Sleeper. My suggestion would be to disable the weapon until it can be properly tuned down, probably to be more in line with powerful sniper rifles or other such weapons where a body shot will not one shot kill someone while they have an over shield. This would also mean that you could have some primeval killing variety as well, which would just simply be pleasant to see. I would love to see more variety; snipers, rockets, grenade launchers, that one crazy titan with a shotgun. I think it would make the game mode more fun to be able to shake things up with different weapon strategies.

2 RisposteSleeper doesn't need a Nerf, but there needs to be a change to Heavy economy. I'd make it so Invaders lose their heavy on death. Adds a risk vs reward scenario, and reduces heavy usage, theoretically.

6 RisposteI feel like sleeper should be banned in Gambit. A lot of people are saying "man up" but everyone and their mother wouldn't be using it unless it was fantastic. I can outsnipe a sleeper with a sniper or another linear fusion, burst em down with primary, but none of that matters if you have someone skilled with it in hand. I killed 15 players in a single match using nothing but tarantula and a sniper, it's not hard to do at all, but it's no where near as easy to use as sleeper. Oneshot across the map, super of not, is honestly quite insane. It has always done it, but never this effectively. Even against pve enemies it is an absolute monster. 10 tapped the nightfall boss with it with nothing but heavyweight on and 40 light levels below the recommended. It's insane. I will take a ban over a Nerf in gambit.

And they thought a pvp/pve game mode would be safe from the nerf babies, WRONG bungie. They want sleeper nerfed now. So a--blam!-ing-gain pve will suffer because of pvp and the crying toddlers.

get good bottom line I have no problem killing an invader with the sleeper and im no sweat its team work that beats it not other guns that's like saying oh snipers shouldn't b a 1 shot to the head they should take at least 2 shots to kill..... not reasonable sleeper has always been an overpowered weapon and needs to stay that way

It means you either suck at hiding from invaders or taking them out when the game already tells you when they're invading. In some cases the Drifter even calls out where they're invading from. It's no different than a Hunter showing up with Golden Gun and taking out every member. It's also no different for you to invade with your own Sleeper or counter with one. Play smarter or just accept the fact that something is meant to kill you and the other guy got the drop on you so he earned it.

Or use a sniper and have some skill, use call outs and get out of the way. Those are other solutions instead of crying to bungie to stop the big bad guardians with sleepers owning me left and right.

Just play smart, think ahead, predict where the enemy will spawn, dont peek in such obvious ways. Usually works for me and I get the kill.
