The people who commit heinous crimes typically have serious chemical or physical brain issues, or have had traumatized pasts themselves. We should work toward a society where the mentally ill are treated. Not wait until they commit a crime to then amuse ourselves in their punishment/torture.

Nah, just put them in prison surrounded by criminals who have children and tell the inmates who the pedophile is. Then tell the guards to just stand their posts and not react to what happens next.

Punishment should only be delivered in equality to the weight of the crime. Pedo’s do deserve punishment, but some people get falsely accused and punished. I think burning may be a bit too far. Maybe (after sentence) force them to stay in a 1km radius of a neighbourhood filled with only elderly people.
