So I’m back to Destiny for the first time since Kings Fall, got myself to full legendary gear at 260 light and a couple of exotics at 265ish and I seem to have hit a wall.
I’ve run a dozen Vanguard Strikes and a couple of Heroic strikes but all I’m getting as rewards is 255 rare rewards. Had a couple of legendary drops from random enemies but that’s it, and they all cap out at 260.
Any tips for levelling up faster?
I haven’t completed the main quest line yet, so I assume I might not be getting better drops until then?
Or could it be I don’t have any of the DLC? (I’ll be buying Osiris and Warmind in 2 weeks and the Forsaken at the end of August)
Or do I have to grind away at planetary missions and hope the vendor rewards are good enough?
Or do I just keep grinding away at strikes and hope to get better random drops?
Gonna be trying new things out anyway but the right direction will be much appreciated.
Edit: Looks like it’s a similar deal to D1, dailies, weeklies and bounties. Thanks for your help guys

probably lacking that but towel, cape or armband.... goodluck with getting that specific item from your milestones.... it took me 6 weeks to get past that point... -blam!-ing stupid

2 RisposteNah brah, you fukked. Just give up.

Unless you purchase the DLC, you’ve hit the 260 soft cap, you’ll now need to do milestones and grind for exotics. Hope this helps

1 RispondiYou've probably hit a soft cap, at which point things no longer naturally drop above your current level. You need to do milestones (flash points, call to arms, nightfall, heroic strikes) as well as participate in raid activities or get clan engrams to progress. If you raid for a couple of weeks, it's supposed to be fairly easy to be near the max. If not, getting above the soft cap happens very slowly, and not at all without milestones. Not word on if bounties can drop above soft cap or not. Might be worth a try.

1 RispondiYou gotta get them expansions.

2 Risposteare there dinosaurs on the other side?

2 RisposteThere is a soft cap on random drops. I would recommend finishing the story first. Then focus on doing the weekly milestones and the raid. Those are the only activities that will provide rewards above your current power level to allow you to continue progressing.

1 RispondiI would recommend getting the DLC. I'm also at the wall, but I have not had time to grind things out. I mainly play Crucible.

For leveling up, you’re gonna want to do milestones, raids, nightfall’s, and the occasional heroic strikes. There is no real way to level up fast, Bungie saw to that in Warmind. Only the most hardcore raid players I’ve seen got up to that level fast.

From here on out it's pretty much all about milestones.

Join an active Clan and use their Clan rewards in your favor. Finish the Story and use the Guided Games NightFalls for some additional Powerful Engrams.

8 RisposteDo the weeklys and the campaign and you should get up to 305, but also do leviathan when you can for powerful drops.
