28 RisposteI have an argument for God, based primarily on the Bible, and infallible piece of evidence for Gods existence. For those who don't read the Bible, or don't believe it, I will present evidence for him based on physical things. Human biology: is a great example of Gods perfect design. He designed us perfectly, after his own image (with a soul). The ecosystem: is another example of Gods perfect design. What other things could have created this Earth? I'm happy to have a healthy debate with whoever wants to engage. These are very few points, and small ones as well. I'll talk more when someone wants to debate.

What really bugs me is how dainty they all are with it. Can you believe the entire catholic church was founded on one verse saying peter should lead the church or something? All those wars and... Poor little Timmy. All because of a little mistranslation and human tradition. What irks me the most is that one verse in the old testament that's really obscure as to what it means to dress as the opposite sex so now we make transgender bathroom laws that make zero sense without any cases to support them while babbling on and on about the "fill-in-the-blank-agenda being pushed by the fill-in-the-blank to take over christian conservative america." Also, don't even get me started on how boring they are. What's that, Jacob? You want to go see hillsong? Wow, so do all of us! I have (sadly) spent seventeen years being alive and most of them were with people more flat and sheltered than a lord of the rings character. As for God? I'm going to hell anyways because I'm an undesirable.

I was raised Christian and sent to a Christian School through 8 to grade. After being in a public high school, and thus being exposed to new beliefs and ideas, I started to question my own ideas. Knowing the current Bible and it's numerous versions were originally translated from Hebrew, a language that has no spaces, punctuation, or capitalization, I decided that it's probably not the best to rely on texts that could be so easily misinterpreted. So, I became an agnostic atheist. I highly doubt the existence of god, but I don't fully deny the possibility. There's no way to prove he does or doesn't exist, yet.

10 RisposteIt’s simple. I don’t see a god, I don’t hear a god, I don’t sense a god and I see no evidence for a god. Therefore I don’t [i]believe[/i] a god exists. That doesn’t mean I [i]know[/i] for certain that god absolutely doesn’t exist. If someone claims Bigfoot exists I can’t prove that he doesn’t. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to believe in Bigfoot. My belief in god is the same as my belief in Bigfoot. I won’t believe either exist until someone provides me with evidence to the contrary.

7 RisposteSince I can't edit my original post because, like always, bungie sucks. EDIT : I'll keep my beliefs very straightforward. I don't believe in a god, doesn't mean I don't reject the idea of a god. Until evidence is [i]clearly[/i] shown then I'll start to believe. If Religion is used to get you through the day, or even your life, sure go ahead and use it, but don't use it to answer the world around us. Religion for your own well-being is great (many people need some sort of higher power so they're underdeveloped senses of this world can bare the actual truth of the REAL universe we are in). Science answers the world we live in and it's as simple as that. It has debunked several ignorant beliefs we had in the past and it'll Continue to prove more and more in the coming future. Myself, I choose to cherish this life we live. Live your life, enjoy the company you have, do things you've never done before, push back the fears that keep you from doing what you want, you'll enjoy everything around you once you realize this is all, that this is life, that there is nothing waiting for you after you die, same as there was nothing there for you before you were born. you only have 80-100 years until you disappear from this universe so enjoy the life you've been born into. Side note for anyone who thinks religion can answer questions of any kind of the world we live in. "If you took every holy book, every holy book there’s ever been, every religious book, every bit of spirituality, and hid them or destroyed them… then you took every science book and destroyed that, in a thousand years’ time, those science books would be back exactly the same, because the tests would always turn out the same. Those religious books would either never exist or they’d be totally different, because there’s no test."

15 RisposteScience gives me no reason not to believe and given Pascal's wager, the balance of benefit lies in believing. Thats the main reason you should believe. Besides that, I have plenty of reasons that I believe.

1. I was raised Christian. 2. The more I see of the world and the more I learn about the universe, it’s seems increasingly apparent (in my opinion) that universe was intelligently designed. 3. Related to number 2, but more hokey: Just feeling. Maybe it’s stupid, but I can’t help but feel that God exists. I guess it’s faith, I dunno. I think it’s grounded than just ‘faith’ though.

The Bible could have been written by anyone for any number of reasons that may or may not have anything to do with real spirituality, we have no way of knowing for sure. So why do I still believe in the concept of a great creater? Two reasons, the first being the more prominent. 1. Because that's just what makes more sense to me. I'm willing to accept anything that can be scientifically proven, including the big bang and evolution. However it simply makes more sense to me that something, whatever it is, [i]wanted[/i] things to exist. Why would the universe just suddenly begin with nothing to kick it off? It doesn't follow basic logic, a domino doesn't fall unless something pushes it, be that a finger or a shift in the air. It just makes more sense to me that there's an intelligence to the design of the universe. I won't claim to know exactly what that intelligence is or what it wants but still I call it God. 2. The alternative is boring. At the end of the day it all comes down to what the individual chooses to believe. Given that we can't determine for certain one way or the other I simply find believing in a higher power to be the more interesting decision.

Without going into too much detail... I believe in a “God,” but more spiritually and less defined then religions portray. I was raised Christian, but I no longer associate with religion and consider myself more spiritual.

My belief is a little fluid, I believe that something is out there. Something that created this world and all on it. I call it God mostly because that's the name I was given as an answer to my question of where we came from. This stance helps me respect others religion as well.

never seen/read/experienced sth that makes me believe that there is sth like a god. while religion has quite some good values like caring for and helping eachother i feel like history has shown that religion is often 'abused' as an excuse to cause harm.
