1. Halos "Golden Boys" from the original franchise are all but gone.
2. Loss of community trust. Ever hear of "throttling" or "loot boxes' before? Yeah, me neither.
3. Lessons NEVER learned. The term "throwing the baby out with the bath water" never made as much sense as the transition from D1 to D2. D2 was a ghost of it's former self and was " Destiny" by title only.
4. Ditching the formula. To reboot a franchise into a Mickey Mouse state seemed more like a Disney buy out than a sequel. Bungie proverbially took a 'shit' on Mark Hammilln and then wondered why the fanbase took to shitting back.
5. Total lack of self awareness. Bungies Halo franchise kept 'in touch' with it's audience during it's inception and growth with Bungie. From the get go, Destiny had shady tactics, but the expoitation was NOT a suprise to most when it finally showed up in the form of D2. The fact that they didn't see the backlash coming was arrogant at best. Now consulting "youtubers' as some 'delegation' just added to Bungies 'out of touch' recent MO.
6. Bungie can't read the room. After a MAJOR backlash bomb and overall player satisatisfaction, Bungie twists the knife with further Eververse cash grabs. instead of 'hiding' the cash grabs and throttling, they decide that being "up front" about their disdain for their community is more acceptabe. "Does anyone like their progression throttling and cash for emotes with fries?"
7. You have a 'catch phrase' for your slighted fanbase. maybe STOP using the term " we hear your feedback" after the community finds out that it is total BS AND a running joke in the industry.
8. Short term profit DOES NOT equal success. so you made more money in 1 or 2 quarters short term with dishonest throttling and ingame gambling while exploiting your fan base, did that compensate for the long term success and profit over the years you would have had otherwise with a REAL game that didn't sell out for dishonest gain verses longevity? The hit you self inflicted has yet to be tallied.
9. Failure to improve. To take a stat sheet and suppose that dumbing down your formula to whitewash it for paletability was a move of sheer arrogance. The mantra of the original Bungie was a " player first" mentality that gave players the content and freedon they wanted and craved. To dumb down the game to increase sales was NEVER for the player base, but to make it bland for babes so they could be later exploited in your FPS online casino at some later date.
10. The total squandering of a legacy. When the apple falls far from the tree, all onlookers notice and scoff at their squandered use of their 'inheritance'. Bungie would be NOTHING without it's esablished fan base and yet this "new generation" has chosen to exploit it and take it for granted instead. A business can be built from the ground up....a reputation can be dismantled by the careless in much less time.
R.I.P. Bungie 2005-2018. The run that should have never ended.
Hope you saved your ill gotten gains come September. Ya'll are gonna need it.

1 RispondiDestiny certainly isn't dead, but upvoted for:
Now consulting "youtubers' as some 'delegation' just added to Bungies 'out of touch' recent MO.
People that play the game to make a living do not experience 90% of what other players experience, especially when taking on the hardest content in the game. Making a game for them would be a huge mistake.
-
2 RisposteYes folks here it is, another "Destiny is Dead" post... I can agree with most of what your saying here but sorry dude the game will live on through 2018 and 2019 and probably even through D3, D4 and D5...
-
How did your raid and raid lair go yesterday? Good, I hope.

8 RisposteI just logged off of D2, so, it seems alive to me? Why the -blam!- do people feel the urge to come to forums and write manifestos about a video game? Don't like it? Play something else. It really is that simple.
-
Bungie has been making games way before 2005. Hell, Halo 2 came out in 2004. How could you miss that one? This simple error alone negates any and all credibility your post has. Have a downvote.
-
3 RisposteWhy is it always "Top 10 Reasons" something is dead!, Can we at least get some solid sources for each reason?
-
5 RisposteIt's the most popular it's been in months, but dead. Huh. K.
-
8 RisposteThis game isn't going anywhere anytime soon, when will you realize?

11 RisposteThe division killed destiny

#1 is noy a legit business reason, all others are and your point is complete. You could argue that #1 was an intangible asset called goodwill that is now completely eroded.

1. It's not

I do not think anyone has defined what they mean by dead in context. I see the toxic haters just tossing the word/term around outside of established context just to be negative and get a reaction. Just stop that. Your stupid. Then I see the Bungie Shills/fanbois/fans/whatever taking the word/term in a differenf or literal context and trying their hardest to argue with the poster. Just stop it. You are just as stupid. The term/word dead has several general meanings depending on the context it is used in. Unless people have becone mind readers there is no real way to determine what the poster, be they haters or fans, means in terms of context. Just stop posting this game is dead, mive on, grow up, let a few brain cells fire off, and go play a good game. Have fun and enjoy. Stop acknowledging the negative posts, fans, and pkay the game you enjoy.

Define dead? You're still playing the game often & so are many others. https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/GameHistory/254/9720597/New%20Engines

I stopped at number 1

Top reason it’s not dead... The amount of “wanna be cool forum trolls” posting about how it’s dead
