Heya guys. I found a PVE build that I'm really enjoying and I wanted to shared it with the community. I'll go over the equipment, then the build; as well as providing a few insights.
TL;DR:
This is a melee-oriented Striker build that utilizes [armory]Synthoceps[/armory], heal on melee kill, and the grave robber perk to decimate groups of weak enemies.
Pros:
- Good self-healing as long as weak mobs are around.
- Auto-reload on melee kill from grave robber means never reloading.
- CQC builds are cinematic and fun. You'll feel like a badass.
- Orange-bar enemies can be punched to death.
- Good for Patrols/Heroic Strikes
Cons:
-Can get hairy on Nightfall. Melee and the Nightfall don't play nice together.
-Lack of orb generation from Masterwork weapons due to high volume of melee kills.
Armor:
- A set of Heavy archetype armor. (improved resilience)
- [armory]Synthoceps[/armory]
Weapons:
[armory]Living Memory[/armory] - Fastdraw HCS / Tactical Mag / Grave Robber
[armory]Solemn Hymn[/armory] - SPO-57 Front / Armor-Piercing Rounds / Grave Robber
[armory]Merciless[/armory] ALTERNATIVE: [armory]The WardCliff Coil[/armory]
Mods:
-Impact Absorption Mod (Until at 10 resilience)
-Energy Counterbalance Mod
-Kinetic Counterbalance Mod
-Kinetic Munition Loader
-Energy Munition Loader
*mods are personal preference until 2.0 or the ability increase. Will rework then.
BUILD
-Towering Barricade (for cover)
-Flashbang Grenade (for oh s%^t moments)
-Strafe Lift
-Code of the Juggernaut
So how does it all work? It all centers around [armory]Synthoceps[/armory] and the Code of the Juggernaut perk Knockout. Synthoceps gives you a base increase in melee range and bonus melee damage when surrounded. Knockout gives you additional melee damage AND range after critically wounding or breaking the shield of an enemy.
Now to my knowledge these perks stack (EDIT: only the damage component, not the range) and in the heat of things I've seen melee hits for 1000-1200 damage per hit.
Reversal, another subclass perk, gives us healing on every melee kill. This is what allows you to stay in the fight. Just note that if too many enemies are shooting you the health regeneration will immediately be interrupted and you can and will die if you overextend. I also run Heavy archetype armor for this reason, as it gives me a larger pool of health to string my healing across.
Grave Robber on both primaries and the Frontal Assault melee ability all help to auto-reload your weapons as you bounce around the enemy. I find the optimal choice for normal enemies is two in the chest with [armory]Living Memory[/armory] and a follow-up strike.
Both Towering Barricade and Flashbang Grenades give you zoning options for getting out of tight situations. I prefer bouncing grenades because I can put them around corners.
I always run Strafe Lift, but your jump is mostly personal preference.
Overall, this is the best "fun" build I've played with over the past few months. It's in-your-face playstyle feels enjoyable and cinematic, while catering heavily to the Titan's melee-centric fantasy. Let me know what you guys think and feel free to throw other builds or item choices at me.

Nice. Recently switched to a Titan main (for now at least) and liked sentinel but hated it's super so much that I don't use it anymore. Anyway, I don't like sunbreaker as much as I thought I would. So I started to use striker more. Everyone used the top tree so I started to use that. It's good and all, but I'm not a big fan of shoulder charge as if I have to melee an ad then I must be sprinting. So I started using bottom tree with skullfort and have actually been enjoying it.

Not trying to be a dick, but you will probably get some negative feedback on this simply because there are no "builds" in D2. It doesn't get any deeper than "use X ability and equip X weapon".
-
7 RisposteBy build you mean skill combination A or B and whatever cosmetics make you feel fabulous.
-
1 RispondiDownvote. Builds don’t mean anything in D2 for sure. I will still destroy that enemy over there in proper 2-3 seconds in order for this to be “working as intended”
-
1 RispondiThis build you speak of means I have to click the other tree of the subclass instead of the other?
-
Modificato da Black Magic: 3/15/2018 10:28:09 PMSatire? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
because no matter what build you use, it’s like having second-hand goods that are defected than shown in the original advertisement; aka: Destiny 1😄
3 RisposteLast week in D1 the strikes were Catapult and Arc Burn... so here was my Warlock build: Devil You know - Grenadier, Rifled Barrel, Outlaw 4th Horseman ;) Arc Warpath - Tripod, Field Scout, Cluster Bombs Stormcaller with following subclass nodes chosen: Pulse Grenade Superconductor Chain Lightning Transcendence Arc Web 2, 5, 4 lazy tier 11 Int, Dis, Str armor build Helmet - Bonus super energy on grenade kills (you could run 0 intellect and still have supers constantly because of this) Arms - Impossible machines for Landfall with hand cannon reloader and bonus melee energy on grenade kills Chest - Reduces incoming arc burn damage, increased shotgun ammo capacity Legs - Increased agility after arc double kill, increased rocket launcher ammo, increased agility when Last Guardian standing Artifact - arc grenades have chance to create orbs when killing minions of the Darkness Hahaha @ D2 "builds"

“Build” lmaoooo
-
"Build" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

2 RisposteIs this what constitutes a build nowadays? lol
-
5 RisposteDo you guys need a guide for farting?
-
6 RisposteBuilds in destiny? Nah. Literally anything works
-
Been using this for months. It’s super fun. And also not terrible in crucible, especially dealing with those bitch-out hunters that panic invis when they realize they suck.
-
Wait.... is this satire? 🤔 If not... umm ok. Glad you are enjoying D2. Surprised.. but happy for you 👍🏻
-
1 RispondiThe only builds in this game are "top" and "bottom". Thanks Mark Noseworthy
No discredit to the OP for their effort here
Modificato da Gønzö: 3/16/2018 12:45:52 PMBooooo ninjas are super lame. Bad guide. Booooo. Edit: how does it feel being the hall monitor for a dead game? Your work is bad and you should feel bad.

Modificato da MC 077 Lasombra: 3/16/2018 9:33:47 AMDrop Resilience down to 5, just a waste going over it. Better off buffing Recovery as high as possible for now. Though calling this a build is kinda funny...

7 RisposteThe most fun pve classes imo are: 1. Devour Warlock w/ Karnstein 2. Orpheus Rig Nightstalker 3. Gemini Jester Arcstrider w/ health Regen melee + dodging refills melee. 4. Sunbreaker w/ Sunspots + Hallowfire Heart. Those 3 classes are pretty awesome. Definitely a breath of fresh air to break the monotony every now and then.

Really appreciate the time you took to share something constructive with the community. We need more of this. Good on you, guardian. 👊🏼😁

1 RispondiWhen the ninjas gotta make posts so the forums dont look TOO dead
-
1 RispondiHahahaha Aaahahahah, Seriously!? You ""found"" a pve build out of the only two possible skill trees available for all three subclasses. Yall noobs crack me up!! Hahaha hahahah, sorry still laughing.
-
4 RisposteSorry, but builds don't matter in D2.
-
Why wouldn't you skip all the dancing and just go with insurmountable skullfort? The build isn't practical for prestige play anyway, might as well sprint around like a maniac?
-
Belong in feedback
-
Fully expected this to be a post for the division. Now If you can rewrite this in a way Luke Smiths niece's can understand it that'd be great.
-
7 RisposteSooo you chose one of the two options and called it a build ... So good cant wait to try it out ... Oh wait I uninstalled that waste of HDD space long time ago ...
