People it really is dying. Players numbers are collapsing.
Down to 670,000 for pve across both games and all platforms.
Pre xmas it was 1.4 million.
That's more than a 50% drop in a matter of weeks.

Meh, people have known about the pop drop for a while. D1 stayed on the Xbox most played list for its entire life until D2 came out, that's 3 years. D2 is 4 months old and already sits at #14. People can say pop drops are normal all they want, this instance isn't your typical pop drop though, this is a pissed off fanbase because of a mediocre game. Furthermore when they have to hide pop numbers because people are attacking it, clearly they have no faith in their numbers cause if it really wasn't bad, why hide it? Instead you give people like me more ammunition to shit on your game.

16 RisposteWhat is the trend for other games (GTA, battlefield, or whatever) over time? I would guess the trend is similar. A bunch of people buy the game when it releases and play it a month or two. Then they move on.

3 RisposteThe numbers are dwindling, for sure. But comparing launch to a period of content drought is not exactly apples and apples. The game is not dying, but it is not well. Definitely cause for concern.

1 RispondiI love the “It’s just a post holiday slump” excuses, particularly as they come directly on the heels of the “Everyone is just gone for the holidays” excuses. I guess we’ll get the “Everyone is busy after the post holiday slump” next, followed by “Everyone is on vacation for the summer”, then “Everyone is just going back to school/work”, until we wrap back around to “Everyone is just gone for the holidays” again. Or that’s what we would see if the game were going to make it through the summer with more than a ghost town worth of die hards.

As someone who likes the game (i thnk it is worthy of an 8 - 8.5) and put hundreds of hours in across both pc and PS4, I think people are too hard on it. HOWEVER, I am one of those people who has stopped playing for the last month or so. I was dissapointed with the winter Dawning event, as it was stupidly hard to get things I wanted through gameplay. On top of that, I am getting a little burnt out. I can't complain too much, having spent lots of hours in the game, though I find myself glad to be moving on to other games (Infamous Second Son, The Last of Us, and Injustice 2). If they give me a reason to come back, I will. For now though, the factions rally is only slightly interesting me, not enough to bring me back.

I played Splatoon 2 instead of D2 last night. They have random rolls, mods that are meaningful, customizable gear, and apparently they add new weapons constantly. TTK is lower so there was no teamshotting, supers charge fast, the gear pool is huge, they have a quick play PvP, ranked matches, league matches and private matches. So, basically they went the right direction where Bungie decided to nose dive off a cliff instead. I had time to play D2 the other night and watched Tiny Houses instead. Yep, it’s that bad.

9 RispostePeople keep defending this shit. People don't realize you need to divide this by 3. This isn't like when Pubg or LoL and other big games release there figures (yes, Pubg is now on Xbox). Usually those are JUST PC numbers. A couple hundred thousand "unique logins" per day for a game sold months ago. A game that is also marketed as a massive always online shared world shooter. What does that figure into .... 10-15k concurrent at peak hours (I'm honestly asking/guessing)? That's pathetic and games years old put up bigger numbers than that. You wonder why bungie stopped daily player counts. The game is -blam!-ing dead and THEY are the ones doing it. A straight up copy/paste of D1 would have had better reception than this disaster of a reboot. Almost like it's being done on purpose.

Probably gonna end up just like Crysis First game was good and a lot of people liked it. Second game tried to appeal to a new audience as well as the original players and fail miserably in pleasing ether Third game will be good and fix the problems from both earlier ones, but no one will care because they're still pissed about the second game and it will die very quickly.

I can only imagine faction rallys did it. Logs in: Checks faction, no new weapons? Wtf Checks faction, bling for armor I don't like? Wtf Or.. Checks faction: well I just finished getting bling for my current set. I ran a few strikes after being disappointed, I can see how some might have just logged out

I tried to play this week got as far as getting my flashpoint done but there is just no reason to keep playing same old stale ass loot and don't even get my started on how they throttled the faction coins that just pisses me off
