Bungie we beg you... Nerfing is not the way

In Destiny you ruined a lot in your maddening crusade for what you thought was balance. You see a meta form, you nerf meta. You see 90% of pve uses a particular weapon, you nerf said weapon. Stop the cycle. You will never attain perfect balance. Use the meta-data you collect for good, not evil. If 90% of the community uses Fatebringer don't nerf all hand cannons. Lift up some options. Give the Guardians options, never take them away. It's literally 10x more expensive to attain new customers than to retain old ones. So if 90% of your customers love a gun but you feel it's not balanced, which scenario will piss off the least customers? 1. Nerf a weapon 90% of your customers love Or 2. Buff some other weapons to rival the favorite, provide additional options. Either way it's an ongoing evolution, by buffing rather than nerfing you keep the community happy and achieve the same ends.i Edit: Geez I can't read all this. I just wrote this out of boredom, guess people feel strongly. To reply to a few trending replies. 1. Of course for this to work you'd have to be mindful of power creep. The idea is less is more. Instead of dozens of nerfs over 3 years you'd require much less. 2. Obviously sometimes guns truly do need a nerf, say vanilla Mythoclast type OP. In these cases ya nerf. 3. This last one is obviously beating a dead horse, but it still amazes me that the simplest solution eludes them. Just separate pvp from pve. If you need an example see DCUO. Now I get why they didn't in D1, it would cost a lot, but why not do it in D2?
