What if the reason for the Cabals aggression is because of the advancement of the darkness. We know they weren't chosen by the light. So what if it's not a matter of they just wanted the light, but actually NEED it. It would put a bit more 3D narrative into their motives if you ask me and it would make them a little more understandable. If you were a leader of your race, and had to chose between invasion of a planet and taking the light, or losing your entire race to the darkness. Which would you chose? Love to hear back from some people, in sure others have speculated this too

1 RispondiI don't think that is the case with the Cabal, you could say that they are similar to the Awoken when it comes to their views on the light and darkness. It could be that conquest is a strong part of their cultural identity and they wish to bring all sentient life under the rule of their species to prove their dominance. The light is just a means for them and I am sure if they had the option they would do the same with the darkness.

5 RisposteWhile that's possible the cabal seem to know almost nothing about the light and darkness.

1 RispondiThe darkness as far as we know has never had any contact with any race but the hive
-
1 RispondiThe darkness was bungie's word for "the bad guys"

6 RisposteThat's an interesting thought, but I believe Luke Smith said that the darkness is not part of D2's story.

2 RisposteWell this is highly unlikely. For what we already know, the consul put the idea into Ghaul's head making him think he is the only one worthy of the light. Yes it is a good theory, but I doubt this is bungie's plan.
