Just what is says, folks... for better or for worse, Destiny 2 will be a new beginning. So now is the time to tell stories of the weapons that made your Guardian-on-Guardian battles awesome, these past three years. You can bring up as many weapons as you like, but be sure to tell us what your favorite memories of them are.
Here are a number of mine...
The Last Word (Year 1 version): This was less a handcannon than a heavy machine gun that happened to hold eight rounds. When I picked up this little sweetheart from Xur, I was a 0.60 PvP performer, and I had no idea how total the transformation would be... I went from cupcake to contender almost overnight, and remained one through to the coming of the Taken King. I also got a 28-kill game once, a mark that it would take me about two years to break.
Thunderlord & Nova Mortis: Many would say that given the rarity of heavy ammo, this would be a waste of an exotic slot. However, these Guardian-shredding heavies regularly got me streaks of five or six kills. They also landed my Titan three Reigns of Terror, a Phantom, and even a Mark of the Unbroken... medals that a 0.98 PvP performer like me should not have been able to get.
Lord of Wolves:. This gun was in my hand at the moment of one of my greatest accomplishments. I was in a Trials match, against three admittedly superior adversaries. My teammates were down, all three enemies were piled up around a corner, waiting to attack en masse and shred me. They came, everybody shot... and I was last Guardian standing. Still don't know how I did it... but I know what I used. It was a tragedy to effectively lose this weapon just as I was beginning to rediscover it, but that was one of the many cruelties of the 2-14-17 Abomination.
Colovance's Duty: If I ever had to point out a weapon that I would call a "bread and butter" gun, it was this reliable and faithful old workhorse. With its exceptional range, it punched out many a sniper, and its damage was such that it could frequently stop an enemy with two headshots and a body hit. And it was an even better gun for PvE.
77 Wizard: If the Last Word was the gun that made me unstoppable in Year 1, this was the last piece of the loadout that made me unstoppable in Year 3. With both Rangefinder and Braced Frame, this death machine only took three shots... but it dissolved Guardians at autorifle-appropriate ranges. Because of this, it and my cross-mapping Colovance were a perfect match. One of my buddies, a shotgun-sliding artist, soon found out that when I went into private matches with this monster equipped, he was sliding into oblivion. Sadly, it was another casualty of the 2-14-17 Abomination.
Invective: This gun was an unstoppable force in PvE, but when the Abomination hit, it began to shine in the Crucible as well. This was especially true in Supremacy matches, where the close-in killer was still king. Quite simply, whether you could find a green crate or not, this gun didn't care. It spat four rounds of full-auto fiery death, and could easily cut down two or more enemies in succession.
PDX-45: With the right statroll, quite simply, this gun didn't know the meaning of recoil. You could park three bursts in an enemy Guardian's melon almost without effort. Despite the fact that I was using a sidearm as my special (and not doing very well with it; I don't like the things), this precision death-spitter saw me to two 30-kill matches. And given that I'm a mediocre PvP player who fights defensively, that's a serious accomplishment.
SUROS Regime: I couldn't not mention this gun... it was with some misgivings that I deleted a Titan to create a warlock, I class I had tried twice and deleted twice. And yet, between his Stormcaller powers and this jack of all trades auto, my least celebrated Guardian racked up a 1.36 K/D, including an insane 1.8+ Iron banner run. When I wanted a non-exotic version, Genesis Chain was almost as good.
Fusion Grenade: Maybe this weapon got me some hate among my fellow players, but it was nonetheless the perfect revenge for the patch that ruined the Crucible. Unable to fight effectively with my primary alone, I began maining these lethal fistfuls of fiery death. And with 300 Discipline and Armamentarium, I could put a lot of them in play. Not only did my K/D rise, but it was an opportunity to refuse to play the way I was "supposed" to.
EDIT: Only nine more sticky bomb kills until I hit my goal of 2500 Get it Off medals. Should make it tonight!

So... do any of you have some special friends in to memorialize, before the collapse of the Tower condemns them to oblivion?
-
I really like playing with the LDR sniper! I agree with you, Ithink the SUROS regime is a great weapon too!

Modificato da Orbital Drop Shock Trooper: 8/18/2017 12:02:26 AMPreydeyths Revenge. [Y1] Best Sniper in the game hands down at one point. The Messenger [Y1] Best Weapon in PvP at one point. G-Horn [Y1]: Just a fun weapon, you pull the trigger and things just blow up in a visually impressive way. Truth [Y1] PvP wise this was just a blessing to watch the aggression on this weapon. Thorn [Y1] Unpopular opinion but I enjoyed using Thorn in its meta days, being thorned against wasn't a pain to me because my playstyle basically is that of not getting shot in the first place. TLW [Y1] The ADS 'glitch' was a beautiful moment and during the blink shotgun meta that was Y1, it was the most sensible primary to use by far on a sniper loadout. Never Have I had my back against the wall be in confidence so much if it wasn't due to this weapon. Hawkmoon [Y1] The handling / feel of this weapon and the damage it did back in the day was just something that screamed to me that Bungie can make a weapon just feel right. Matador 64 [Y1]: I trusted this shotguns power and it never failed me. Vision of Confluence [Y1] This was my go to mid range weapon and the auto fire had me impressed with the handling of it as well. Under-rated in Y1. BTRD-345 [Y1] : I could go days in PvP using this weapon without needing another heavy crate, my friends always had an inside joke that long after when everyone had used all their heavy ammo, they'd have no surprise hearing a machine gun go off and they'll know just who is using it. it got to the point where they just expected me to wipe out the next heavy ammo spawn with the previous heavy ammo I got. It was always funny proving them right. Mida Multi-Tool : This was just another weapon back in Y1, but since the nerfs, this weapon still has more character than like 95% of the weapons in Destiny's current arsenal. It feels great to use often times just gets the job done. ALL NERFED and NOT VIABLE to use in PvE or PvP. With the Exception of the Scout Weapon Mida and VoC. I said goodbye to these weapon years ago.

2 RisposteModificato da Sunbreaker: 8/16/2017 4:13:25 AMBeing a Y3 joiner to the community, I have probably less Y1 weapons, aside from a few things I got from legacy special engrams from Xur. Here we go: Primaries Vision of Confluence: Whether it's exotic or not, this gun is a monster. Ran out of sniper bullets? No problem, switch to Vision of Confluence. What to consistently three tap in Crucible? Pick up Vision of Confluence. Zhalo Supercell: If using a lighting gun wasn't awesome enough, the perks on this gun make an arc powerhouse. Firstly, we have chain lighting, which can wipe out ads in less than one mag. Then a perk that restores ammo directly to the mag, and charged super on double kills. Chain lighting causes that to happen. A LOT. More double kills = more supers = more fun. Bad Juju: Being used in most super charging builds, this gun would be one of my favorites. Each kill charging a small amount of super and insta reloading? That's an equation for steamrolling ads. Plus the full auto perk, making this thing my favorite gun to use when building supers (unless arc burn is active. Then it's Zhalo time!) Fatebringer: I think the name may be self explanatory. Firefly + Outlaw + Explosive Rounds = AD CONTROL. Cocytus-SR4: Getting one rolled with hand laid stock will instantly improve your performance anywhere. A heavy hitter like that with that high stability is bound to have consistent three taps. It hits like the Chaos Dogma, and has stability like the PDX. Speaking of the PDX... Suros PDX-45/41: I liked this gun for being a laser gun before. I managed to score a PDX-41 with hand laid stock, fitted stock, and rangefinder, along with SLO-12, my favorite Suros scope. The reason I like it so much more now, is because it took me unbroken. I'll admit, I almost got smashed too many times. But I did it in the end. Ice breaker (just kidding. No Land Beyond.) This gun had to do before I got Ice Breaker. Not gonna lie, it served me well in the time I used it. Managing to ft onto First Light with double snipers was a godsend for me. Just getting those crispy snipes at the start of a match was more satisfying than looking at perfectly smoothed butter. Universal remote: This weapon, paired with No Backup Plans/ Blink strike is...disgusting. Running this with my Matador is really fun and broken at the same time. Special Telesto: This was my first exotic weapon ever, and I have not dismantled the original. It stands out like a spotlight at midnight, like neon green in black and white, you get the picture. It took me some time to master it, but once I got the hang of it, I never faltered to use it. I love spreading out the bolts across all the taken psions, watching their purple bodies float, and seeing BloonsTDfreak04 generated 1 orb of light multiple times in the feed. Ice breaker: Considering the current meta, enough said. Wormwood: Same as Ice Breaker. Invective: Being able to start a match with special is good. Being able to regenerate ammo is better. Having that on a shotgun is incredible. The ammo regenerate time on Invective is 28 seconds, so longer than Ice Breaker, but shorter than special crates. Using it on maps like Anomaly is amazing. Especially with No Backup Plans. Stellar Vestige: Lying in the same archetype as Plan C, this gun is very good. With vertical recoil, and a great effective range, it's no wonder I used this gun once I got it from a bounty. Wombo comboing snapshot and rangefinder is fun, especially when you go 25 and 5 in a match. Plan C: When I feel threatened up close by a shorty, I switch to Plan C, and instant kill him. With the exotic perk, switching weapons gets rid of the charge time, granting basically a free kill. Even without that, however, it's still an incredible fusion rifle. Pocket Infinity: Getting this from a legacy engrams I bought from Xur made me...happy, to say the least. Full auto, and mulligan, equals death at its finest. This gun will be remembered, just like Telesto... Ether Nova~: The army of one perk and the two for one perk combined is amazing. Combine that with an intellect discipline build, and you get and insta recharging grenade. Having ashes to assets (bonus super energy on grenade kills) is a recipe for orbs and fun. Heavy Dank Drinker: Spinning in a circle and killing everything is the best thing in the world, as well as doing more damage than Raze lighter. I guess Aksis damage is cool too, but killing lots of aliens is better. Gjallarhorn: Aaand enough said. It the freaking GJALLARHORN. Who wouldn't remember it? Nova Mortis/ Abbadon: After seeing what you said about them a while back, I thought, "I'll try them out." I regretted nothing. Dragon's Breath: Doubt me if you want, I don't care. But I know that this gun does more damage than Gjallarhorn. Look it up, watch well more than one video on it, and bring the results. Plus, giant flaming area of death. Sound and Fury~: 3 shot normally in a rocket launcher is crazy. 4 shots is godly. I love going in a strike, and just shooting this rocket launcher, over and over and over and over. These guns will never be forgotten by me, never, ever, on the history of Destiny's franchise lifespan.

the best one was soulstealers claw i loved that thing

Extremophile with counter balance, small bore and high cal. rounds. Covers so much range and it kills fairly quickly since it's so easy to control. It's easy to duck under fire and move unpredictably with it. Plan C. Ultimate counter to sidearms and shotguns. And sometimes even snipers. I've had a good number of times where I out sniped someone with this thing or another fusion when they had a scout or pulse. So funny when it happens. Suprised to see someone else that likes Lord of Wolves as much as I do. People don't see its potential from its range. As long as you can get the kill in 1 burst. Lord High Fixer. I have better hand cannon rolls, but it just feels really good. Not sure why. It has rangefinder, Hammer forged, grenadier Year 1 Party crasher. Still have it, aggressive ballistics, rangefinder, rifled barrel, luck in the chamber. LitC rounds can snipe people as well as shut down supers. Also really funny when it happens. Soulstealer's claw. Kills so fast, and with range perks, it can easily outgun a lot of pulse rifles. It's just a matter of spraying the face with it. Last Word. Never found it in Year 1, but I still loved it when I got it. It takes some getting used to, but once you do, you'll never lose a cqc gun fight again. Chaperone. The range is really good, and taking people's heads off is a lot of fun. Still remember getting hate mail for using this thing. Swords. They're way too funny in mayhem when you deflect some dumb bastard's super. Still remember a match when I got the same sunbreaker twice with his hammers in the same match. I don't have much to say for the rest of these, but I still like them. First Rule DHYB Lethe Noblesse Hitchhiker fr4 Thesan Mida Matador 64 Salad man's Vigil Conviction The Vacancy The Wounded

Thorn The Supremacy The Ash Factory

1 RispondiThe Eyasluna, even though it's not as broke as some of the year 1 weapons I like that feel of pinging 3 clean shots on someone in a tricky situation, Pali too I guess.

1 RispondiOkay first off I just want to point out that nades don't count as a weapon because they are subclass based if they are being counted we should be counting melees as well and now onto my fav weapons 1. Red death: this was such a fun gun for me especially in year two I actually received messages from some players who couldn't handle the fact I killed their character saying things like you are dead I have some friends who would just love to meet you and they will kill you etc. etc. 2. Universal remote: I just loved this gun so much after red death got nerfed because I was getting poorly rolled primary guns during that period 3. Weylorans march: this sniper was so good to me I actually wish I could see how many kills I got with it but I know that it was quite a few as this was the sniper I used for the longest time 4. Y1 icebreaker: so I didn't get this gun until just before the end of y1 so I didn't get to use it until crimson days when I used it to great effect 5. Haakons hatchet: this was my preferred primary during y2 the only reason it's so low is cause I didn't use it much in pvp 6. Reflection sum: I nearly went flawless on multiple occasions with this gun and had quite a bit of fun using it in y3 crucible to annoy players when I sidearmed them only to switch and kill them with this gun

2 RisposteI remember using Red Death during HoW when pulse rifles could wipe the floor with anyone. That thing was simply awesome! Equipped alongside the Ram a Voidwalker could regenerate health like crazy. One scout rifle I kept after all this time is my Gheleon's Demise. With it's perks (LitC, Hand-laid stock, Crowd Control) I've pulverized many players in the Crucible. Especially during Combined Arms.

Before the end..remember the nerfs..no thanks.

Super Pox VLO with Reactive Reload and Glass Half Full, in its prime it dealt 38 headshot damage per round and after a kill reload 51 damage to the head. With Weapons of Light, 68 damage per round. It was glorious.
