There's been plenty of feedback these last few days about what we feel Bungie did wrong with the D2 beta. But this isn't about that. This is a forum for you to share what you see as incredibly STUPID things done by other game manufacturers: bugs, glitches, insane plot holes, or just general stupidity... here are two that have bugged me for a long time.
SPLINTER CELL BLACKLIST

OK, let me be clear. Do I have any issue with Michael Ironside being replaced? No, not really. They wanted to have the same actor do voice and motion capture; I get that. But Michael ironside WAS Sam Fisher. Period, exclamation point. Sam Fisher should never have been played by anyone else. Sam Fisher's character is 56 years old in the game's timeline (2013), a little old to be running around, climbing on ledges, and getting shot at. More to the point, while Sam Fisher was a good choice to command Fourth Echelon, it didn't really work to have him both its primary commander and primary field operative. Sam Fisher (preferably played by Michael Ironside, voice only if he couldn't do MOCAP) should have stepped into Irving Lambert's command role, and Eric Johnson (who was just fine as an operative, he just isn't Sam Fisher because Michael Ironside is) should have taken the role of operative, with a different name.
ELDER SCROLLS V - SKYRIM

OK, spoiler alert, almost six years after the fact. There's this dragon in Skyrim who helps you save the world. But these humans, who also helped you save the world, can't get past what this dragon did a few thousand years ago. So they tell you that you have to kill him, and there's no alternative resolution to the quest. Either you kill the dragon who helped you, or you remain enemies with your other allies. It was INSANELY stupid that you weren't able to come up with an alternative solution. There's a great mod called "The Paarthurnex Dilemma" that shows how such a resolution could have occurred; only downside is it didn't have any voice acting.
I think a big part of the reson for this is that the devs were rushing to make the 11-11-11 release date, so they got sloppy and left some stuff out. A similar issue existed at the orphanage, where several of the kids were talking about being adopted (one of them begs you to adopt her, awwwww) but there was no way to do so. I think they intended to include parenthood as well as marriage in the game, but ran out of time. The Hearthfire DLC later fixed this.
Another thing I kind of had issues with was that there were no eligible Khajiit in the game. Since Khajiit are largely feline, it just seemed kind of creepy to marry a human or elf. Khajiit cjharacters should have been able to marry within their race. Just an opinion...
SO, those are my contributions... what utterly BONEHEADED things have you seen in games? Please exclude Destiny complaints, since we already have around 359,118,904 topics for that.
And remember to mention the game title first... spoilers are almost inevitable, but let other players know they're coming.
EDIT: I actually wrote a story based on the Paarthurnax Dilemma, but I don't currently have a place to put it. Once I do, I'll put a link in my Index page. In the meantime, a link to the mod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnpfNI25p0w

1 RispondiModificato da Auttumnnnn: 7/28/2017 12:14:44 AMSome complaints I have concerning a few of my favorite games. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U No story mode, and only because Sakurai didn't like that people were uploading the cutscenes to YouTube. -.- Also, they need to stop trying to stop mods. They're not hurting anyone since it's all cosmetic. All mods do is give the community more to be invested in and excited about. And mods are going to keep coming back anyway, so they're wasting their time trying to get rid of them. Halo 5: Guardians How do you go from making a great campaign in Halo 4 to making a terrible one in Halo 5? What happened? But they made a good decision dropping the lead writer of Halo 5 for someone different. Also, Promethean Soldiers ruin the animalistic feel the Prometheans originally conveyed in Halo 4. Pokemon Sun and Moon Pokemon X and Y might have been generally pretty bad (in my opinion), but they did online features right. The convenience of trading, battling, and the sharing of O-Powers were great. Why did they change that in Sun and Moon? Nobody wants to have to go to the Festival area to access online trading and battling. That's all I can think of at the moment.

7 RisposteMass effect: andromeda. Need I say more?

5 RisposteAny Call of Duty after bo2 (this years cod looks promising).
-
2 RispostePretty much everything about EA Battlefront 1.
-
2 Rispostecan't say anything about blacklist but god damn you hit the nail on the head with that one. Bethesda games starting with Fallout 3 have been increasingly diminishing the RPG elements that were present before and Skyrim is textbook overrated

2 RisposteModificato da Deadpool6505: 7/27/2017 8:08:31 PMHalo 5. I hated how instead of playing primarily as the master chief like in the previous titles, you were made to play as Spartan Lock as well.

1 RispondiIn skyrim I really wish I could have just murdered the blades.

*ahem* The Division

The creation of prototype 2

Just about everything past Forge and the Roster for Reach
-
2 RisposteFor splinter cell blacklist, the devs were also doing a "unique type of performance capture that had never really been seen before" or something like that. Which is interesting because the finished product had gone backwards in terms of facial animations.

1 RispondiBreath of the Wild's story. It feels like the devs wanted a story, tried for a little bit, then gave up. Seriously, name a champion who has more than 10 minutes of screentime.

6 RisposteModificato da TexasJedi_705: 7/27/2017 2:36:56 AMFallout 3 vanilla ending. I'm talking about if you had Fawkes, the rad proof super mutant with youi. If you try and send him in, he babbles on about "our own destiny", blah blah. Tldr, he won't do it. Yes broken steel fixed it, but seriously Bethesda.

2 RisposteI'd like to know why in Skyrim you can't reverse pickpocket better armor onto NPCs. I imagined all of Whiterun clad in Nordic Carved Armor to help guard against random vampire attacks and all I got for my efforts were townspeople running around in their skivvies acting like it's business as usual.

2 RisposteFallout 4: The entire character conversation system. You don't know what you are going to say until it is too late. No Man's Sky: No explanation necessary.

2 RisposteThe zombies storyline after Black Ops 1

5 RisposteMeh, Blacklist is still one of the best SC games.

6 RisposteAs a big fan of Splinter Cell, I see what you're saying. However, Michael Ironside's health wasn't too great at that time and he actually died several years ago. I agree that Sam should've been strictly the commander of 4th echelon instead of its top operative. The other dude (forgot his name) should've been the main operative...that last mission was great though.
