I asked people how they eat steak and was surprised at the variety of responses. Which got me thinking, what food can be eaten in the biggest variety of ways?
I figure it's something basic like bread or pasta. Like no matter what seasoning you put on steak, it's still steak. But tomato pasta and cream pasta practically exist in separate yet parallel universes, one driven by tangy zestiness, the other by smooth creaminess.
And once you add pesto or oil based pasta, bam. Game over. Like reflections in facing mirrors, pasta gives infinite but sliiiiightly different iterations on a theme.
It's pasta isn't it?

"Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it."
