I just watched a vid where a player in D2 pvp had a Hand Cannon and a Pulse Rifle and his Power (Heavy) was a Sniper Rifle. Weird! Hopefully it works out good but idk. What are your thoughts on it?

I dont like the sound of it but who knows. I'll pre order to player the beta, you can always cancel it and get to our money back.
-
Well it's not called heavy or special now it's power ammo, so it still spawns every 30 second not once per match
-
Yeah. Thank you PVP crybabies! You made me not preorder. I hope Destiny 2 FLOPS BIG TIME AT LAUNCH!
-
That's good. It means they'll actually be good. In contrast it means Rockets will be toned down to accommodate. 😕

1 RispondiIts about damn time, my only real concern is the 30fps
-
3 RisposteThe raid bosses will be a bitch with no sniper heavy dps combo. Thanks again pvp cry babbies

Smartest decision they made for the sequel.

18 RisposteI have been asking for this change for a long time, and I'm glad it's here. From pve to pvp, it makes no sense why snipers in particular wouldn't be in the heavy slot. In pve, in terms of sheer dps, they out gun almost every heavy in Destiny 1 which is ridiculous. In pvp, the potential of snipers as one-shot-kill weapons from any range is just too great. As for shotguns, I am a little perplexed at that choice simply due to the fact that bosses in D1 are usually unapproachable with shotties because they OHKO you if you get too close. Hopefully there's a little more tactical choice available other than just *equip sniper rifle, hide in hole, take pot-shots until dead* this time around. I'm all for snipers, shotguns, and fusion rifles being one hit kills in pvp if the ammo is limited to one or two power drops per match. The choice to go with two primaries also makes sense so long as there are clear deltas in effective range between weapon types. If I have a scout or hand cannon in my kinetic slot and a SMG in my elemental slot, there is a clear delta between their effective ranges, allowing for adaptable playstyles. If you normally use a shotgun as your secondary in D1, using an auto rifle or SMG is gonna be your best option in your elemental slot. Conversely, if you run-n-gun with an auto rifle but like to snipe in D1, then maybe going with auto/SMG in your kinetic slot and scout in your elemental slot is the way to go in D2. This allows the game to be slowed down, with a focus on primary gun-play (like Bungie has stated they want) while still allowing situational adaptability. Don't expect there to be a No Land Beyond or Univeral Remote type of weapon in D2, unless they are separated from pvp.

Love it! Maybe we can have a primary meta now.
-
Good. 1sk specials ruined destiny 1 pvp
-
2 RisposteGood. I logged in a couple days ago for the first time in months and played a few matches of elimination. I was pretty much the only player not using an icebreaker.
-
It's a pvp change. Will be interesting to see how it effects pve. I expect boss fights will take a lot longer.
-
I think it will work out well. Any guns that are OHK will be power weapons. You won't be able to pick up shotgun, fusion , sniper ammo as often as D1. It'll be more similar to Halo where you have to control where the heavy ammo slams in order to use your OHK weapons
-
Really disappointed me. PvE look pretty nice though, so hopefully it will be good enough to forget whatever they made the crucible into.
-
Hopefully means they'll all be back up to pre nerf levels of power or stronger given the ammo constraint and fact theyre in the same group as a rocket launcher. I'd rather have a beast of a shotgun in my heavy slot than the current POS. Especially in pve. Imagine killing multiple bad guys one blast. Outside melee range too! :)

1 RispondiAlso why do the Pulse Rifles seem so weak in D2 pvp? In the three different videos that I have seen the Pulse Rifles do very lil damage but the Hand Cannons are very dominate at every range. It looks as though pvp will be very stale so far. Not impressed at all at the moment.
-
They were originally heavy weapons in D1 also.
-
2 RisposteEverything that can 1 shot kill are power weapons. Snipers will OHK every time
