You do realise that's impossible your asking for primary to have the same ttk time as special and that's stupid the ttk in destiny is a fun point only by nerfing special more and making them more situational can we lower the kill time of special if we buff primary kill time you give players less time to react and defend them selves and trade and people like being able to do that if you take that away you will lose some of the player base cause some of us hate being killed constantly in under 10 seconds unable to defend ourselves or have a chance at surviving. the special ammo nerf would still If to be included so to stop people using them like primary. The special ammo nerf was add to stop people conastly using secondary and not switching to primary that's the problem if you have a two guns one which kills in one shot and one that kills in two shots which one are you going to choose? It will be the one shot gun. So to have a primary meta without buffing primary ttk time and losing the player base you if to a take away special or b give a reward to people who constantly use primary like daily bounties that give lengendry engrams if you kill 200 with primary but even with this you still get some people who will use secondary all the time so it would be best to go with a rather than b.

Side arms are better than primaries, Ice Breaker, Invective ... Grenades, fists, knives, warlock space slaps .... Who said you have to use primaries?

Problem is that every time a strong primary rears it's head, the PvP (primarily Trials) community collectively bands together to get it nerfed. Examples include (but aren't limited to): -[i]The Last Word[/i] -[i]MIDA Multi-Tool[/i] (still one of the most stupid, uneccesary nerfs in the game) -[i]Doctrine of Passing[/i] and other max RoF auto rifles -[i]Clever Dragon[/i]/[i]Grasp of Malok[/i] -[i]SUROS Regime[/i] (Oddish) and Auto Rifles as a weapon class. (KlaytonH) -[i]Red Death[/i] (Oddish) -[i]Thorn[/i] (Oddish) -[i]Nirwen's Mercy[/i] and the low RoF archetype of pulse rifle (Lost Sols) Edit: List updated with commenter's thoughts.

As ugly as this statement may sound, I'm almost glad this happened. Is it because I like this new meta? No. I hate it, passionately and virulently. I was a primary main who just found out that he can't main primaries anymore because without a special to back them up, there are too many holes in my defenses. I don't feel combat-effective without the ability to reliably kill an enemy up close. However, consider what Bungie was out to do when they dropped this meta on us: they understand gamer psychology. Do not think for one minute that they don't! They know that having our special ripped out of our hands again and again and again makes using it a miserable, frustrating experience. That is why they pointedly ignored our complaints between 2-14 and 3-28: they were [i]expecting [/i]us to be angry. they were expecting us to be frustrated. They were expecting us to find using specials to be such a grating experience that we'd turn to our primaries just to make it stop! It's called negative reinforcement. You apply a negative stimulus until the target behavior is achieved. In layman's terms, you do something the person doesn't like until they do what you want. Having special ammo disappear at death provides "hands-off" negative reinforcement. Given this, one of two things was going to happen. One, the plan was going to succeed. The players would have meekly picked up their primaries and mained them, and Bungie would have been rewarded for bullying them the way they did. Two, the plan was going to fail. Instead of going to primaries, players would use other tactics available to them: sidearms, regenning weapons, NLB or Remote, stickies, shoulder charging, whatever. And Bungie's negative reinforcement tactics would be proven ineffective. I ask you now: which outcome is in the players' best interest?

Last primary meta was Clever Dragon/matador right before they took away special upon death and ruined their own game for the rest of D1.

The only issue is sidearms, they just need to be removed.... However i am having little issues with using a primary since their ammo nerf.

Logic says that primaries should be the weakest. Heavy is obviously the strongest which is why ammo is once a game. Specials are just that "SPECIAL" and shouldn't be treated as a primary. Sure they have a higher ttk but that is because they are "SPECIAL" weapons a shotgun for the most part should be a 1hk a sniper should also be a 1hk same goes for fusions. I wont even get into side arms because that's been beat to death. So yes primaries are the weakest but it is intended that way. YOU SHOULD FEEL SPECIAL when you get that green crate. rant over
