Why does the world hate Christianity so much, we haven't done anything cruel to the world all we do is try and help the world. People respond to Christians kindness with hate and persecution.

1 Rispondi“"If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me." John 15:18-21 ESV

5 RisposteI don't think it's Christians per say, but Christians who vote Republican. Those Christians are total hypocrites who vote for people who actively try to privatize our national parks, increase pollution, deny citizens cheaper prescription drugs, make YOU (the taxpayer) fork out MORE TAXES for warfare and drone strikes, cut veterans' benefits, & give their rich buddies MORE tax breaks. I don't understand how you can be a Christian and vote for a disgusting Republican. It's a contradiction for everything modern day Christianity stands for.

Why different people hate Christianity Whites: Atheists, white slaves (if Irish) Blacks: Slavery Asia Minors (Arabians:) Crusades East Asians: Imperialism Native Americans: Colonization/expansion Central/South Americans: Imperialism
-
By and large, people dislike the extremely vocal groups. Ones who are, at a fundamental level, angling for a US similar to the Middle East (in that it would become a draconian theocracy), or who make it a point to judge others or who try to foist their religion on other people.
-
1 RispondiHopefully all these people who think the crusades were "Christian aggression" are being facetious...

I dont. My wife is Catholic (or at least she lays claim to it, her church-going is non-existant lol). Me? I hover somewhere between Atheist and Agnostic.

People respond to Christians kindness with hate and persecution.
Because everyone is fallen and sinful. Jesus even tells us to expect the world to hate Christians. Yes, there's really little to no reason to hate Christ. But that's the insanity and illogical-ness of sin. Edit: at the same time, We Christians need to accept the criticism in this thread, regardless of how harsh it is given. A lot of the criticism isn't far off from the truth of how some churches are acting towards the world.

All of y'all need to learn your history. Go study then come back. Most posts here are mouthing off as if they are backed by fact but none of them have the basics down.

Modificato da bigtimejamez: 2/17/2017 3:39:50 AMWell, unfortunately there are so many judgmental, religious (in the kind of way that excludes a bunch of people) Christians, that those kind of Christians are what most atheists thinks when they think of Christianity. This is really stupid, 'cause it's not what Jesus. Like, all of Jesus friends were pretty much losers, but he said "Yo it's all good dawg", but it seems like so many Christian's have forgotten this, so it seems that this has become what most atheists think of. Either those kind of Christians or the kind that go around being annoying about Christianity.

God said Christian persecution would be common practice in the future.

3 RisposteBeing "edgy" is trendy and hating on religion is an easy way to accomplished the desired effect.

I am Christian and it is good and all but the only real issue I see is the different interpretations of it. Man has twisted it to their liking ever since the beginning of it and altered important aspects of it like the bible.

Kkk, hitler was a Christian. Etc. I hate all religions but respect your freedom to believe in what you want. The killing of babies. Crazy Christian cults. Etc

I say everyone just accept different beliefs and be chill and be friends with everyone

8 RisposteFirst of all, the Crusades, which were multiple events of expansion that involved mass murder of non-christians. All of that was "justified" because "god told them to." Next, let's talk about Christian interactions with native Americans. They destroyed native holy sites and artifacts and essentially forced the natives to convert to Christianity. And now, in modern times, a majority of christians are extremely anti-gay because "it's not what god wants." Overall, Christians have generally been massive assholes throughout history, all in the name of "god". While not all of them are jerks, the ones that are give Christianity a bad name and make it hard not to dislike the religion.

KKK Crusades Saying people will be tortured eternally if they don't join Christianity

2 RisposteThe crusades?
-
The only reason Christianity is one of the big reasons today is because the original Christian were a-holes and forced the religion on everyone.

I know one man that stood for Christians. adolf hitler did Sieg Heil

Most people hate what they do not understand. To take time to understand is more effort then most want to put in. A lot of those who hate Christianity say all Christians are the same.
-
Because Christianity calls out the world. Saying, "you're doing bad stuff and you deserve eternal punishment for it" people get pretty defensive about it. Most people don't have a problem hearing about Jesus, but they don't want the rest. It's like if you got to hang out with you're favorite celebrity, and they brought you and awesome gift, and had a whole day planned for you to hang out with them. Instead though, you just take the gift and tell them, "nah man I'd rather do something else." They are fine with this gift of, "The God of the Universe loves you so that his only begotten Son became one of you and died for you" but they don't like the, "you're a terrible person and unless you change your ways you're going to Hell" part. Tell a person they're bad and they won't like you.
