Protests happened even when Obama was elected.
People that are saying to liberals that hey should get over it and stop protesting, did you say the same thing 4 and 8 years ago?

Edit 2: As this came up alot, I am not defending the riots as its not right to destroy things that are not yours. Not all the people who went to the protest took part of the riot.

Please do keep in mind that, while Trump is a very controversial man in a place of power, the protests were of a much different caliber, most likely due to the anarchists that were also present.

People will protest against gun rights. Some people protest by holding signs and chanting slogans. Others block streets, and devolve into rioters setting fires, smashing windows and looting. No one minds the sign waver. You see them and think, "These people care about a cause." The others make people think, "What a bunch of ass holes."
