I say remove the 3 loses.
Simple as that, you want to know why so many casuals are leaving now? It's not only the sweaty Trials streamers or just mlg players who enjoy denying people from setting foot into the Lighthouse, it's also because of the intimidation of those losing 3 wins.
I will definitely get a lot of hate from elitist and sweaty Trials players who enjoy denying people hopes and dreams of getting to the lighthouse
cause well lets face it, it's the only thing they got going for them in life's satisfaction
I suggest we remove the 3 loses, this way it may fix the problems of the increased amount of casual players avoiding Trials in general. Sure it will take people a long time to get 9 wins (more then others I'd should say) but at least it would appeal to more players and new streamers starting out who want to play Trials every weekend.
I know I will get lots of hate from those who think they are almighty champions who needs to feed their ego. But let's face it, Trials at the moment is dwindling in interest. I see no one wants to play it and I don't blame them. If we can fix this maybe more people can have a chance at participation without intimidation of the 3 loses in the back of their mind and just concentrate on having fun in a competitive game mode.
Dear Cozmo I hope you can see this post after the amount of hate comments I will be receiving.
Btw it's just a game guys enjoy it, have fun!
Also can we talk about spawn flipping perhaps in Trials that would freshen up the experience.

my friend just started streaming today. If you got time on your hands just come by the stream and troll him Lol. twitch.tv/nxrow

"People are destroying me in trials because I'm too ignorant to get good"
-
Technically you would be right on taking the losses away. Youd be constantly matched with people who would kick your ass so you would never make it especially since the matchmaking would be set up to where you match with people based on the scorecard so if youre at 7 wins and keep losing, you still benefit those who are better who can jump right to their 8th. If they complain about that then you know theyre lying.
-
...or we could have a kiosk for LFG. That way you can find sometime in game to play with. Just saying.
-
I agree except that maybe we keep those losses JUST FOR THE LIGHTHOUSE, as to where once you got three losses you can keep your wins and get the win based rewards but you can't go to the lighthouse. I would also like a rare PvE drop to be added that would come from raids that would be a consumable that negated a loss each time you used one (until you get 3 losses) that way PvE players would be more enticed to play trials.
-
People just go for the armor and weapons half the tines you don't see none of them weapons in regular crucible matches. Now year two with the doctrine of passing made trials worth everything.
-
yeah the flawless system only works with a large group of active players to draw from. I could paired with people I've just played multiple times a ticket. Sometimes that means a guaranteed win or a guaranteed loss. flawless means nothing to the higher tiered players, it is just an annoyance that prevents players from obtaining loot. Kd will not change, elo will not change. If TOO still takes 9 wins and no more than 3 losses, it will just encourage continued play, not discourage and increase annoyance.

9 RisposteHaha no trials isn't difficult to any degree. Practice more you participation trophy child.
-
3 RisposteThe best suggestion I have seen is when you lose a match. Instead of a loss. You just lose a win or two wins
-
This is a good idea, especially because destiny is in it's final year and needs to draw players back in for destiny 2. Or for when destiny 1 is running low on content.
-
What's sweaty? Sounds hot.
-
6 Risposte300,000+ weekly players is dwindling interest? That's crazy.
-
Make it harder. I'm never making it. I'm OK with that. If you get upset over not going to the lighthouse, you need to grow up.

1 RispondiNo. Im not an elitist either. Im actually one of those filthy casuals you are talking about. I just think trials should be only for the really elite pvpers out there. Im sick of people saying people should just get handed stuff if they arent good enough. I know im not good enough for trials, i have a 1 kd on all three characters but it doesn't bother me. I prefer pve. Keep trials the way it is. Keep it only for the elite.
-
3 RisposteI think a lot of casuals like me understand that Trials is for elite players and don't really care to join it. Getting stomped is not my idea of fun. I've been playing since day 1 and have never even attempted it, nor will I. On my old Xbox account, you should see all the Trials passage coins sitting in my vault lol.

I will preface this with I frequently go 0 and 3 in trials. I'm weak at PVP and I don't have time to dedicate to getting better at it. I really think A B grouping is a plausible solution. If anyone in the group has gone flawless you go in group A. If no-one in the group has gone flawless you go in group B. The reasoning is this, If you're matched with people of a similar skill-set you are more likely to have a good time. If you're having a good time you're still playing a game, and if you're still playing then there is a chance the developers can sell you something. For better or worse this is how game companies work now. Eventually the better players from group B will transition into group A, and by the end of a season (which is when you would reset the groupings) A will have a healthy population and B will start to shrink. If a pool starts getting too small you start ignoring them for match making. You're still going to get in games, you're more likely to match your skill level, you're more likely to have fun. Streamers can still play with their followers, carriers have a harder job, and parents who are too old (me) can get that grimoire card that they really don't need but want for some unknown reason.

Trials is fine as it is. It is a competitive mode and designed to be difficult. I agree it sucks that people with 150+ wins are still playing trials and keeping you from lighthouse, but it's the way it is. I do think trials needs a fresh update though. As soon as I got my scarab emblem I got out of there. It got boring and repetitive to me

Here are some ideas on how to improve trials and get more players to play. I know this a lot but just a few ideas. Create a weekly character bound trials book. Allowing players to constantly work on getting some trials rewards that they have yet to get. The rewards should be based upon feats and wins not just wins. Have it set up with receiving a reward by doing the things listed here. Get 50 kills during 1 card. Get 30 round wins on 1 card. Get 3 kills in one round. Get 10 kills in one trials match. Revive 10 players on 1 card. Melee kill 10 players on 1 card. Grenade kill 10 players on 1 card. Get 25 special weapon kills on 1 card. Get 25 primary weapon kills on 1 card. Get 10 heavy weapon kills on 1 card. Get 3 wins without a match loss. Get 5 wins without a match loss. Get 7 wins without a match loss. Get 9 wins without a match loss. Get 15 wins without a match loss Once a player completes the 9 wins without a loss then the player gets 6 more matches in total. If they win all 6 in a row they will be rewarded the scarab emblem. If not then that character gets locked out once that 6th match is completed and can not use that character anymore until after the reset. This should allow for more players to reach the lighthouse. Once a character reaches past the 9th win then they will only play against players that are past the 9 win mark also.

2 RisposteModificato da Jiggum_x: 12/20/2016 11:58:10 PMI don't like trials but I don't think this would bring many jaded players back

5 RisposteDude, get over yourself. Trials isn't for everyone, and it gives people something to shoot for on the weekends. It's fun, it's sweaty, it can be boring, but above all its something, may the only thing, that keeps people coming back every weekend.
-
Its fine as it is, stop being entitled. If this crap actually ends up happening you should be able to ress in hard mode raids and get 1 free boss kill a week. SMH.
-
Dont play trials then. Its top a mix of tier PvP compition and cheaters. Just skip it. You are not missing anything. Weapons are just reskins of other weapons. Gear is mehhh... Really its just an ego stroke.

2 RisposteModificato da PapaSubpar: 12/20/2016 9:25:45 PMDear Cosmo. Please remove PvP as a requirement for the Lighthouse. Let us just go to the lighthouse and get all of the trials loot once a week. . Then please remove all of the enemies from the raid. Replace enemies with rings that we need to walk through (because we do not want it to be too easy.) Then we can just get loot from that once a week. Maybe twice if we eat our vegetables.
-
3 RisposteGoing to the lighthouse with a loss on the card is like going to jail for nothing. It shouldn't happen.

Modificato da Cade: 12/20/2016 11:38:07 PMOr how about when you lose instead of getting a loss it just gives you a win.
