TLDR
Bungies current content seems to be lacking, and they just seem to be removing any and all motivation to continue playing once you reach endgame content. Trials is supposedly rife with cheaters, Iron Banner no longer has rank packages, the raid is super easy, and there's only one. Why? Why Bungie?
Edit 1: before you say i should play another game, i already am. Im playing skyrim. So stop recommending i play a different game.
and anyways, thats kinda the point of thsi post anyways. It feels like bungie is pushing players who have made it to the end away from destiny, thus trying to kill their game. A game should be replayable, but it seems like with RoI, they dont want destiny to be replayable. They want a "hit it and quit it" kinda game.
Edit 2: also, drops mean nothing when nearly everything you own (that you use) is 400, and i highly doubt im the only person with nearly only 400 gear.
Dear Bungie,
I have been around since the beginning, so i have seen pretty much everything you have thrown our way. I have seen the rise and fall of weapons and subclasses. I have seen gods slain by LAN cables, or more interestingly enough, merely walk off the edge and take their own life because of their phobia of grenades. I experienced the agony of working your way up to a boss in the Prison, and spend several hours struggling to slay said boss, only to have to forfeit all progress and return to orbit due to real life obligations and no checkpoints. I witnessed the beginning of a divide in your community with the introduction of Trials, and the gally or gtfo posts.
But that was fine.
Then came year two. And with year two came a new subclass, a new raid, new (and a much more improved) story. A lot of good came with year two. Not everything good though. Elemental primaries were taken away from us for some reason, the nightfall flame and bonus was removed as well for no good reason. Year one content that we struggled to achieve was left behind and only select exotics slowly trickled their way back into our possession. Eververse was introduced with the promise that it would fund future live events to be free.
But once again, that was fine. The good outweighed the bad, so overall it was a positive year.
But now, year three. I know we have only just begun, but Bungie.... What the hell?
One of your employees has publicly stated that the lighthouse was always only supposed to be accessible by the best of the best. So that just cut into your community even more. And then you have the cheaters making it so only the best of the best at booting other players, or those who lag so hard they become gods, make it to the lighthouse, and when presented with proof, you do nothing except ban those that bring it to your attention. "Name and shame".
And your final expansion, lets be honest, is a little lackluster.... Five story missions and a laughably easy raid. But hey, its all fun and good content. Its just that you had a year, and this is what you have to show for it...?
But hey, you advertised those ornaments. Those things look friggen sweet!!
What? One a week? Prone to getting duplicates? If i want more, i need to spend even more cash? But but but.... But why?!
But hey, at least there is the live events that are being funded by eververse to look forward to right? Right? Wait, whats that? Almost all of the content is locked behind a paywall? But... But i thought it was supposed to be free.... How is it that all of the proceeds accumulated during ttk lead to a worse Festival of the Lost than last year...?
Alright. Well, all hope isnt lost. Iron Banner is really fun. Loot galore since Rise of Iron. You get loot from the bounties, and loot from ranking up. Loot EVERYWHE-
Wait, what's this? No more loot from ranking up? Then.... Then whats the point in playing after you beat the bounties?
What? There is none? Oh. Okay.
So, just to recap. Year two, you gave us a few good story missions, and a fun but really easy raid. Thats good.
But then you have your most toxic PvP gamemode run by cheaters and red bar deities. You gave us about three hours of content with FotL, and expected it to last two weeks. And Iron banner lasts however long it takes you to complete the bounties before you are out of stuff to do.
Im genuinely confused...
Do you want us to quickly run out of things to do? Cause that seems to be the case....
I honestly just dont know anymore. Im just really confused. Year one had a lot to do. Two raids, and three prison of elder game modes, nightfall, decent trials, good iron banner.
Now. Now we have this mess....
Sincerely,
A VERY concerned and confused gaurdian, JoeMonkey13.

Go play pvp.......and
nerf fusion rifles
3 RisposteUm, at what point does the story get better? You mean with that hunter idiot who thinks he's funny? Cause at no point did I find any of destinys story above a 4 out of 10
-
2 RisposteI still play iron banner even though i am rank 5
-
11 RisposteI think destiny is finally dead it has taken a few years but so much for bungies 10 year plan. After the trials mess that was me done. Ill give destiny 2 a crack only if its a clean slate.
-
It actually would be nice to get radiant treasures on all 3 characters at least once for doing heroic strikes.
-
5 RisposteIB is way better than it was before. Guaranteed gear from the bounties and you do get rewarded for reaching rank five. That's 5 IB items guaranteed to you on completion. Hows that worse than year 1 and 2. Not to mention we don't need to war ib class items or shaders or emblems to get the most out of IB. As far as IB is concerned, they did good.
-
1 RispondiI guess I don't understand what it matters to bungee if we get gear at rank 3 and five or not . It gives the players a sense of accomplishment and bungee loses nothing.
-
3 RisposteJust realize OP is trolling most if not all comments you guys make. I was going to respond similarly to most of what is being said already. He's not just responding, he's trying to belittle anyone who disagrees with him. Basically an attention whore.
-
This is embarrassing. You need to get some life perspective. This is a VIDEO GAME.... 🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼

1 RispondiThe problem is they pumped everything into Destiny (1) and made it so it was Quick to complete which made everything move past so Quickly. i remember when i did vog for the first time it took me ages to get up to a high enough level to complete it but i got there....then came Crota, now the problem i saw was, I was pretty much halfway to the level i need to complete Crota so that made stuff easy...now thats what bungie has been doing....just adding to one thing and we got everything done so quickly they had to scramble to find us more content...this is solely our fault because we were afraid of starting from the bottom again. You can all totally deny it but in the end we created this mess because we were all scared of letting go of our stuff...
WTF Am i talking about we still are afraid of letting go and thats what will kill destiny 2 We need a fresh start....stop hoarding and let the crap go its useless anyways.
-
4 RisposteWe're talking about a company who canned the best music composer in the industry. They don't care about quality. They want their profits so they can make another in 2019/20. Don't forget that several veteran Bunji staff including writing and lore creators left on their own accord. They couldn't sell their souls like the new generation of young Bunjie employees. After skyrim, try the witcher 3 and see what a real company does with limited resources and good motivations.
-
2 RisposteNever understood why skyrim was remastered over morrowind and oblivion. Skyrim has been the weakest entry by far.
-
7 RisposteWaaaaahhhhh! I've been playing your game for over 2 years now Bungie and now I'm bored so I'm going to throw a tantrum like a little #####. Muted.
-
1 RispondiPlay a different game
-
1 RispondiJust a point of clarity: true, there are no more IB rank packages, but each bounty gives you a piece of gear. We get way more loot under this new system.
-
1 RispondiHere's your actual TLDR in easy-to-read bullet points: • I prepped and then played too much and hit max light too soon. • I'm comfortable with my three to six favorite guns and do not wish to try new ones. • The raid is too easy and I take crucible too seriously to enjoy it because of its flaws, and I have no-one to play private matches with. • Conclusion: Destiny sucks now and I am a crybaby. Sound familiar? Look into your heart, you know it to be true.

Modificato da Kuzie: 11/11/2016 9:57:48 PMAfter reading your post I totally agree with you! and what others are now saying I no longer believe bungie wants to continue with destiny, but there locked in with a 10 year delvoment contact! PVP is totally broken subclasses are mismatched almost constant ghost bullets now every match! DLC that has really bad and lazy progression! The raid is being cheesed already and has glitches everywhere probably due to lazy and rushed programming Now iron banner has been dumb down and takes now skill to progress thought ranks No doubt trials will be next! I'm really sad to see a game that could be a truly one of a kind just slip in to nothing more then a money making cash cow for Activision After all look at what they did to call of duty!
:(
no

Man I was going to write a snarky comment here, but then I read the whole thing and COMPLETELY AGREE with everything you've said. I can't say it any better. It's exactly how I feel. And I don't know why I'm so passionate about it either. Maybe it was the greatness and potential I saw in Destiny with VOG and the planets. Maybe it was that first year before g@y ass competitive bullshit, where I fell in love with the controls and the graphics and thought 'damn this game is awesome!' Man even the public events were awesome. Perhaps it was that first flawless carry (yes I was carried but I eventually got decent) and I saw Mercury. Or maybe it is the people who I have become friends with. I see them leave, one by one, and it's not that they're leaving because of life stuff. They leave for the EXACT reasons you've described here. Specifically Trials EXACTLY dissected the community and made it awful. I've had fun with trials, but I honestly don't care anymore and I realized that it has segmented and speedster us so much in a game that's supposed to be social... There's no content and we are left with sbmm salt. Anyway, good post man. It makes me feel a certain type of way. I hope D2 isn't like this, in the end.

5 Risposteeasy answer: Bungie made Destiny and had given the developers too many degrees of freedom and were not cautious enough to check whether the promised sony and MS did were good enough to creat such an architecture to support the game.. so bungie had basically a huge mess of creative minds at start and they created an amazing raw version of the game. too bad it failed.. bungies effort to create the "next big hit" failed on almost every level they had.. the engine turned out to be too demanding to the hardware and the way they coded the instances were eating up too much memory to be able to host big ones.. so when the day came when bungie showed the mastercut of the game the studio bosses were concerned that the game would be too much of a giant mess, and the earnings from it too low since it shoudl lasted for a long long time.. besides that it turned out that bungie could not host the way the narrative was going and could not provide the player with several instances , depending on where they are in the story.. (example: the cosmodrome before and after siva, could only be added when ps3 was dropped due to memory restraints. ) so bungie needed to cut down the story.. not releasing destiny 1 was not an option since the work wasalready way to far and the engine too bugged and cancerous due to the many shims the developers left in the code which made the game slow and ineffective to adapt.. adding a simple stone in the cosmodrome took more than 15 hours loading time of the entire game into the engine. and compiling it back later (thats the reason why early patches were the size of the entire game, and veterans will remember the massive trouble bungie had with such miniscule changes like the heavy ammo bug.. ) so the decided early on to release the game as a trunk of a game.. carrying enough "content" ripped from the original game and put it out there so that players can play it while they basically stopped quite quick all the development on the TIGER! engine right from the start and created a new engine for Destiny 2.. part of what we see here in ROI, (more enemies, more effects, bigger instances and more overall activity.. and several instances in TIME of the same area.. (notice that there are even three instances of "The Divide " in the game right now.. ) so the answer is : YES Bungie wants the "old game" to die.. and that you buy the new game to start new with a new character, classes, loot and gear.. since the old gear was not working as intended..they used everythign they had what was NOT revealing the plot (thats the reason why we still have not a single explanation, just descriptions.. just listen to what lord salad says: not a single word abotu why and how, just what , where and when.. so yes destiny 1 must die to make room for destiny 2.. and since they cant just simply turn it off they have now begun to make it a bit less appealing.. and with destiny 2 at the hrizon and 4 years of development in addition to the 6 already spend on destiny 1.. they will release destiny 2 as a restart, .. the material: "forge of gods" and "vex void" have already been created for destiny 1 but never made it to the final release on the old engine.. so we will probably see this in destiny 2.. maybe we will get some insights about the moth people, the worms and the hive and why the fallen are here in the first place .. its a pretty damn big universe of Destiny out there but the upper levels of Bungo have decided to NOT release it to the public and hold it back until Destiny 2.. so destiny 1 was pretty much clickbait to see how much are people willing to dish out and since there are enough trigger happy desticles, they are more than glad to feed them another sparrow racing book for 10 bucks =D .. its was a bit like making pancakes: the firt one was ruined but you serve it anyway since it tastes somehow good enough that people will still eat it since literally everyone was so hungry for Ps4 content at this time.. dont forget: destiny was a very lonely title out there.. no mater how shitty it would have been , people would still have bought it. 2ct..

1 RispondiGames do not have infinite life?!?!? Why is this concept so hard to grasp. Destiny is done completely. They are working on Destiny 2. What game that is not an open world type game, has infinite stuff? Why is destiny any different then halo, cod or battlefield? The pvp aspect is not on same level agreed but why the fu k do people expect to have not gear, missions, strikes, raids, activities all the time on a 2 year old game. So fu king stupid.
-
Work on your grimoire noob
-
You now get 4 iron banner packages instead of 3. You also dont need to reach rank 5 to get them. Im Not sure how everyone seems to be spinning this as a bad thing. Essentially even if you cant manage to win a single game you can still get your packages. Nobody is not being rewarded for their time. Trials is not filled with cheaters. Everytime someone loses to a person with a yellow connection or gets a server error they suddenly lost because of cheaters. It's bullshit. There are some cheaters. There is tons of of them. I absolutely guarantee you could play 7 cards every day trials is out and you won't see a single legit cheater.
-
Trials has always had cheaters(I've luckily run into less lately). There's always only been one reason to keep running endgame content and that's perfect rolls. Iron banner is better now, you basically get 4 rank packages and as far as I can remember there's always only been one relevant raid.
-
IB doesn't need rank packages when the four weekly bounties all drop the equivalent of rank 5 packages. Is that why IB is so underpopulated this week? Are people really that dumb? Oh wait, I forgot who just got elected President...

TL:DR Apathy is killing Destiny. This applies to both Bungie and the consumer. It will have an effect on Destiny 2. How large of an effect remains to he seen.
