Ok my fellow guardians I have a request
STOP LYING
Ever since VOG we have dealt with the raid lies. If you don't know what you're doing in the raid just say so. How many times has a guardian come into the raid saying they know what they are doing???? Only to find out the don't. Please stop wasting our time. If you don't know just say so we will walk you through the mechanics.
I'm still stuck on Aksis part 2 because this year multiple guardians have high light levels. So we assume they did the raid. They say they know how to do the raid. Only to find out that they only "watched a video".
So please stop lying. Please stop wasting our time. Just be honest. We will help you or if we are pressed for time we won't. But just be honest.

I've never lied about knowing what to do haha. But then, I only raid with friends who explain it me as we go along. I wouldn't impose my inexperience on strangers.

Look at their raid completions. Or even just askem to thrown on the raid emblem

They do that because all the established Raid groups tell them to YouTube it before trying it, yet no YouTube video can adequately prepare them for the correct hand-eye coordination they would need to do the Raid to begin with. So it's really the Raiders' fault.

I rather have them watch a video then walkthrough because explaining isnt as good as seeing what to do.

I disagree and here's why: when rise of iron first released, for the first time I wanted to take my time and not achieve maximum light on the first day. So I did every activity except for the raid. After about two weeks I realized that was a huge mistake. And I had let the window of trying the raid "blind" pass by, and found myself locked out of most raid requirements. So I did put any in experienced raider would do: I googled the encounters, and lied about my experience. Fortunately, I had done a nice job of raising my light to an adequate level through strikes and exotics. (380) I joined a team on LFG and had no problem getting to Aksis. I did not die once and was not responsible for a single whip. The entire raid went very smoothly up until that point. Aksis Revealed my inexperience, however, and our first wipe on him was my fault and I was immediately called out for not knowing what I was doing. I apologized to the team, I said this was my first attempt at this raid, I thought it went very well. I said goodbye and excused myself. One of the members of my group apologized to me for treating me so rudely, and I responded that it's OK, I kind of expected it, it was my fault for lying in the first place, I said "I will Google the two boss phases and beat it later in the week", and I did. I don't think I would have defeated the raid if I hadn't lied.

I agree 1,000% about the lying, but I don't blame those who do it.

I'm always willing to help people out, every one has been in the situation where they are new to the raid so we all deserve the same chance at learning. What bothers me is when you are with someone who is new to the raid that makes a mistake, which you try to point out so that they understand what they did and how to improve and all they do in return is complain about being blamed. Prime example, running Aksis pt 2 the other week we wiped, and it turned out one person missed with the cluster; when the score board came up it was obvious that one person threw but never did damage. I spoke up and respectfully said "hey <insert psn here> you missed your throw, try aiming higher." I said it calmly, and meant for it to be advice and was met with the person immediately yelling at me saying "just because I haven't beaten Aksis yet doesn't mean I don't know how, don't point fingers, it's a team effort and no one person is at fault." The problem is that some times one person can be at fault, and if they are not aware of what they are doing wrong there is no way they will learn. If you are new to the raid and someone who has beaten it before offers you advice take it, don't get frustrated and angry at them...

Man. This. This all the way. So many people lie. and I just don't get it. Are they ashamed of not completing the raid yet? They shouldn't be. Just be truthful. You don't know how many times I've done the raid with someone that's like "aw yea I know what I'm doing" we get to the second phase of wotm and they are all like "where do I throw the bombs?" ..... Same with kings fall, I had a player go all the way through and when we started the oryx fight and got to the light part he was like "what are blights?" Geeze [spoiler]get good scrubs[/spoiler]

Posted as ad on the recruitment app last evening for Aksis part one and two. Asked for guardians with experience for this encounter, simply because my friend and I wanted to finish the road before reset, Tuesday. We had players that kept dying ( not using cover) which I don't understand, had a empowered bubble Titan jump on aksis and use bubble instead of slam the boss ( how does that happen?). Really frustrating since Aksis is not difficult to beat. :(

3 RisposteThen ppl gotta stop caring about stupid benchmarks and man the F up ... I took a light lv . 340 into WotM last night to farm step 8 for some friends and did everything except the boss but vosik and the zamboni were a breeze ! The 340 held their own .. died as much as the others no more .. and even was able to change sides to help out in the heat of battle ... I literally just said .. shoot shit and don't die and he far surpassed my base suggestions .. It's not light lv that matters it's skill lv and what you are good at ... raids require full co-OP or else perfect silence ( if everyone knows how to do it then you shouldn't need call outs ) if it's somewhere in between is where shit hits the fan cuz communication breaks down ..

Even back in KF, people asked for +330 for hard mode. Most people on this community are too demanding and don't realize that their is damage scaling in this game. Especially in PvE. It's the reason why you still can't kill a level 2 Dreg at Cosmodrome with 1 melee.

So one cannot learn by watching a video? Seems like you want first hand experience, but there's a difference in asking if they know how to do it and having completed it.

My first VoG run I said I'd run it before. Total lie. 100% not true but some guy messaged me in the tower and had to 100% lie to vouch for me. We finished the entire raid in 2 hours. If you don't want people to lie, stop making bs raid requirements.

2 RisposteMaybe this wouldn't be an issue if people would stop kicking people from.raid groups for not having any experience.i have noticed more and more that there are less groups willing to help new players.the way the community does things leaves those who can't raid the first week in the dust leaving those left behind to rot.I'd you don't raid day one you probably won't finish the raid it's what i have seen with this raid.
