Ok my fellow guardians I have a request
STOP LYING
Ever since VOG we have dealt with the raid lies. If you don't know what you're doing in the raid just say so. How many times has a guardian come into the raid saying they know what they are doing???? Only to find out the don't. Please stop wasting our time. If you don't know just say so we will walk you through the mechanics.
I'm still stuck on Aksis part 2 because this year multiple guardians have high light levels. So we assume they did the raid. They say they know how to do the raid. Only to find out that they only "watched a video".
So please stop lying. Please stop wasting our time. Just be honest. We will help you or if we are pressed for time we won't. But just be honest.

They only time I ever mock people is when they tell me they don't know how to do VoG

2 RisposteFirst time I ran the raid was last night. I told them I didn't know how to do it and that I was messed up. They didn't care they showed me the mechanics , very laid back group.
-
3 RisposteMy guess is that most people are worried that if they admit they don't know something they will be booted or mocked or something. Based on so many of the lfg posts that request max light and 25 completions and someone will check then boot. With that being the most presented raid statements I don't blame most people who don't mention their lack of experience

This is how I LFG as a newb:
Looking for an easygoing group with an experienced lead willing to guide me through my first run. Message/invite via Xbox Live.
If I find only highstrung groups inviting me, then I will modify my LFG post:
First ever run and not interested in joining immature fireteams more interested in playing the blame game than the raid. Message/invite via Xbox Live
1 RispondiI told them, they got mad because they asked for experience. I know bianary so they kept me around

I agree. Before I played the raid, be it was extremely easy, I had only seen a video on what to do. I made that known to each group I played with, and maybe it was my luck, but everyone explained to me and others what to do. So yeah, just tell your group whether or not you know what to, 9/10 you'll find some chill people who don't mind, and if you don't, then stay cause they'll force you to learn. I played King's Fall once with a real good group, even though I knew what to do, they were more advanced than me. But we still got the raid done it at least 40 minutes, my quickest run. So even if they're assholes, unless they kick you, just stick around cause they'll bash the raid in your head so one day you can help someone.
-
I tried doing COE 30k run a couple weeks ago and asked to know what to do. One guy joined and killed the boss. I asked why, he says he never played it before. I don't know why people can't read. I know how you feel.

Modificato da Milk: 10/18/2016 9:54:50 PMI like that now there is no excuse to not be able to slam. It's not "I've never been empowered." or "Can someone else be empowered?". Sorry pumpkin, if you can't do it then it's on you.

3 RisposteMe and a friend joined a Oryx cp when that raid first came out and had no idea what we were doing. So when they said "ok guys were doing the 123 no night strat" we were like "ok"
-
I hate that also but I think it's mostly due to how people act if somebody gets in group says I haven't done it they kick them, so I put in my post if haven't done raid it's ok just let us know if they don't I kick them.

I promise
Am I lying? I'll never tell
3 RisposteI joined a group as a 383. Everyone else was a 385+. They immediately nitpick my perk selection on my LDR. Ask to confirm if I've completed the raid (I'm wearing the emblem). I shrug it off. Party leader constantly threatens to boot people. We run through the raid with no wipes. One dude makes a mistake at Aksis phase 2 and jumps on a different pillar. Party leader harasses the hell out of him, then kicks him from group 3 seconds before killing Aksis. I am always party leader now. That left such a sour taste in my mouth. I also got more kills than the entire fire team, despite being 2 light levels lower...
-
Completely agree... Best to always put it out right away no matter how much you fear you won't get into a group. I was able to easily get a trials group even by disclaiming I was 360 and expecting to loose this past weekend. Nobody walked away upset or feeling like they didn't carry their weight.. We even won a few. So be upfront to help find the right firesteam.

1 RispondiThat's why I say either in my recruitment posts or in the party, "does everyone know what to do? If you don't, we can give a simple rundown if you want". I don't get why people are so embarrassed by stuff like asking for help and such. As far as i know everyone at one point in their time on here didn't know how to do certain things, whether it was raid-specific or not. If you need help just ask. :)

3 RisposteIf we wouldn't get kicked half the time we asked what to do at this part then we wouldn't lie. If half of this elitist mentality stopped then this wouldn't be a problem
-
The most annoying thing is when someone wants you to do their strategy because "it's better" then you find out they only know that strategy because they saw it on a stream and haven't actually done it. Then you go back to your own strat. Lol

8 RisposteWhen I say I have over 600 Raid Completions people think I'm lying. 😐😐😐😐😐 ~TheGreatNike

1 RispondiPart of the problem is it's become a thing for a team to kick people when they admit they don't know what they're doing, which is just stupid. So people have a tendency to just keep their mouths shut now to try and figure things out by watching others. Someone I play with off and an was even kicked multiple times from groups because he never beat the death zamboni. He even mentioned this to us when he joined us. Which I didn't care one bit and we got all the way through the raid. I'd much rather show someone how to do things then just have them play dumb and hope no one notices.

I will take you through if you're up front and tell me that you have no clue how to do it, I will not take you if you're lying about it.
-
5 RisposteI won't kick someone if they've never done the raid before but I will kick them if they lie to me about it.
-
I haven't even beat the raid yet :c
-
Oh, you didn't really have to make the post. Just deal with people not knowing what to do. That's me in all attempts for both the Vault of Glass and Crota's End. But I refrain from bitching about it because its a matter I don't need to do so with. And you'll just eventually learn to do it. Maybe it take months, but it'll happen.
-
Couldn't agree more.

1 RispondiModificato da Silver: 10/18/2016 4:27:47 PMI was the one who missed the node on Aksis Phase 1 and caused my team to wipe and said I hit mine. It only happened once...
wow, that felt good.
Knowing how to do the raid and actually doing the raid are two different things. On the first boss fight we all know that after each bomb throw round you need to check for monitors to light up and shoot it. How many times has the entire team forgotten and had to wipe? Last boss fight. Jump on his teleporting back and slam. How often have you been empowered and he hits a platform and no one gets to him on time because everyone is panicking to ensure someone is left/right/back and three people are standing left? Mistakes happen. As soon as people start panicking and getting angry you may as well pack it in. You should never be afraid to make a mistake as long as you learn from it. Keep the chatter down until after the fight is over. Empowered people need to be heard to ensure someone is in position at all times. If too many people are screaming "I NEED SOMEONE RIGHT!!" you'll probably find someone is on right and you've just pulled your left empowered guy over and ballsed it all up.
