Just came back to the game after a nice healthy break and wondered if the lack of elemental primaries is still a thing?
Then I had an idea - we have chromas, and now weapon ornaments; why not have a "Golden Age <insert element> weapon element" which could be used, much like an ornament, to activate an element on an exotic weapon. You could also change it if you had another weapon element.
Imagine a Hard Light with arc, like it should actually be.
Or a void Gjallarhorn
You get the idea.
I reckon this is probably too late in the lifespan of the game now but would have been a welcome addition, seeing as a lot of the exotic weapons are more or less bookends.
EDIT - I didn't, and don't want this thread to be seen as one of the weekly "give me my elemental primaries back" threads. I wanted to suggest something that would let us have them back, whilst giving us variety. Some suggestions are better than others, this one maybe not so much lol...

1 RispondiIt'd be cool to see two new exotic primaries each with its own damage type like the Zhalo
-
Its not really needed
-
I think if they did they should have a drop chance for an upgrade to put on a primary of your choice
-
I'm unsure about bringing back elemental primaries. They are really just a crutch for players on nightfalls and now heroics. Do you guys really need that much of a crutch to play good? Exotics are fine, but I'm even unsure we need to "change" elemental damage on exotic weapons. Seems silly to me.

Elemental primaries are not coming back, sadly, but it would be nice if Bungie was honest about the reasoning, truth is Elemental primaries made running higher level content easier, nightfall's raids etc. enemies that were tanking you could be cut down to size with an elemental primary and an engagement supposed to last 10-15 seconds instead only lasts 5, fun for you not fun for bungie who has struggled from day one trying to produce enough intriguing content.
-
I guess this would be OK as long as it wasn't introduced as a micro transaction and you could get the ornament only through drops and RNG.
-
No. Next question.

5 RisposteThis is why guns like the vex should come back. I'm okay with legendaries not having it but exotics should.

5 RisposteModificato da Dr_Sorethumb: 9/27/2016 6:29:04 AMExotic primaries only, to make them, y'know, exotic. Edit: that old nugget about PvE having pretty much only two primaries that most people use, the Zhalo (arc burn) and the Hung Jury (dat roll), whereas year 1 had many more options due to... you guessed it... elemental burn.
-
Bump.
bring Dinkelbot back as well BUNGIE!!!!!!!
-
6 RisposteWell, Luke Smith said we didn't need. Bungie listened to Luke instead of their fan base. Hmmm. Have not heard anything from him since we all told him he was full of *insert comment here*. Me, I want them back!
-
7 RisposteAll exotics, regardless of primary, special or heavy, should have an elemental burn. Whether this is set, or changable with an ornament / chroma type slot (5000 glimmer to change the element?), they should all have some type of burn. They are exotic, they should feel that way. Especially guns like Hard Light, No Land Beyond, Ace of Spades etc, that are all decent, but not required as they have nothing about them that would make you chose over a legendary and take up the exotic spot. Leave legendaries with no burn, we've been used to that for long enough now. Exotics though, they need to feel like weapons of players that have "become legend" like the original promo said we would. Set burns on each would surely be the easiest to program, and I doubt would really be that hard for Bungie to implement. They want gun play variety, well, what better way to get it?!?

Modificato da BrianFantastic: 9/27/2016 5:52:38 AMThe raid weapons really feel like raid weapons this time. that was at the core of the issue for me. An auto rifle with firefly? Get in my inventory! It's like someone at bungie went '-blam!- it, let's give them good shit again but make them work for it again' which is why I liked this game all those years ago. You could show off your shit.

You should know this community is fucking stupid. Dont even try
-
-
No. Not really.
-
i would love to go skittles again, and make my enemies taste the rainbow... justs a cheap tactic Bungie came up with to make you sweat, cause you to get killed when going into your inventory to switch out burns, to take down shields, put pressure on you in the heat of battle. like that one critical shot you all ways get hit with and drops your energy to red bar and forces you to take cover not snipers shots, or bosses i'm talking the small fry with that killer aim, and the ground shaking and splash damage etc etc...
-
Bungie has decided to make the game harder by making us less powerful instead of just making the game, you know, harder. That's what you call trying to appease young gamers.
-
With the new perks on raid weapons I'm happy with not having elemental primaries. What made me unhappy was the raid weapons no longer being worth grinding for. Now I want them all like they're pokemon.
-
I have zero faith in Bungie but Ill agree 1000000%.
-
I was thinking a consumable from xur (solar core etc) for primaries only and if the weapon equipped already has an element you can't change it
-
I'm fine without burns on primary's, it was cool back in year 1 but I don't really see the point now.
-
2 RisposteI would be happy have like hawkmoon do solar damage and the red death void burn and of course the zhalo has arc covered
-
1 RispondiI would like to see elemental customizations available for every legendary and exotic weapon (excluding Zhalo, Vex, etc. that already have elemental damage). That would REALLY open up the endgame content and add replayability. Imagine the grind to find 3 Imago Loops to have all 3 elements on them. That would take some time.
