Are we still mad about elemental primaries?
Just came back to the game after a nice healthy break and wondered if the lack of elemental primaries is still a thing?
Then I had an idea - we have chromas, and now weapon ornaments; why not have a "Golden Age <insert element> weapon element" which could be used, much like an ornament, to activate an element on an exotic weapon. You could also change it if you had another weapon element.
Imagine a Hard Light with arc, like it should actually be.
Or a void Gjallarhorn
You get the idea.
I reckon this is probably too late in the lifespan of the game now but would have been a welcome addition, seeing as a lot of the exotic weapons are more or less bookends.
EDIT - I didn't, and don't want this thread to be seen as one of the weekly "give me my elemental primaries back" threads. I wanted to suggest something that would let us have them back, whilst giving us variety. Some suggestions are better than others, this one maybe not so much lol...

I sort of do but what k think the should just do is make 1 exotic arc (alredey done) then another solor and another void and then I will be happier with not haveing elemental primary

For the last 8 months or so, I've been using the Zhalo Supercell for arc damage, the Jabberhäkke-D for solar, and Dreadfang for void damage. I've got a couple of options in Specials for ranged void damage, if needed. I will say that lately, though, I've just been melting everything with Hand of Judgement. :)

5 RisposteElemental primaries made the game (particularly the nightfalls) too easy. And now weekly heroics have burns too. And small arms was added. Could you imagine a Fatebringer hitting for 20k with small arms and arc burn? It is game breaking, I'm glad bungie learned their lesson... Although it would be extremely fun... -Capy Jack

Way too overpowered. And knowing Activision it would be able to be bought with silver. To be fair it would be really hard for Bungie to implement.

2 RisposteI'm upset they were taken away for a cheep fix. I also had a similar idea when it came to element primaries. However, it was more like a permanent infusion. Can't be changed, can't be undone. Also, had a game mode idea that people's shield were changed to the element of their subclass, but that idea still has bugs in terms of balance.

It would be a interesting idea, but it Is not exactly the best idea. I say just let us have a 2 to 1 hour Consumable for Solar/Arc/Void on primary's and we can only carry one at a time. Otherwise this is a great idea

Not missing them one bit. Yes it's fun to be overpowered but spent all primaries curve our play style so much, especially with burns on. It was fun while it lasted but I don't miss it one bit.

Maybe, my primary set in year one was: VoC for titan Fang of ir yut for warlock And wolves leash II for hunter (I think that's the name of the scout) unfortunately they were left behind, I think it doesn't matter the weapons having burns, it just affected nightfalls the rest didn't matter

I'm still mad they took them away for such a stupid ass reason. At this point there'd be plenty of elemental primaries to choose from. In short yes I'm still mad.

1 RispondiI do miss them but I'm glad the Night Falls are hard again. If it was solar you could jus wip out you Vision of confluence any solar snipe and Gally and be done with nf in like 10 min. But I still miss them

1 RispondiI like the idea of y2 warlock exclusive fusion susanoo which infused the ability in the weapon for short time. Maybe this should be extended to all classes for some primaries via an artifact or maybe some new exotic weapon. WDYT Bungie?

Should have a elemental booster that you can infuse into legendaries or exotics that xur sells each week so that the variety is kept cause than everybody could use any weapon they want and get the element they want on it

I feel like having 3 exotic primaries would be sufficient enough for the game...if you want to use an elemental primary you have to give up an exotic for it...sounds like a fair trade off imo

3 RisposteHard Light is made by Omolon, as weird as that sounds. None of Omolon's weapons are elemental, so Hard Light not having an element makes sense. It's literally [b]Hard Light[/b].

Modificato da Lankee Clipper: 9/28/2016 1:34:10 AMNot mad, but I find it funny that Bungie took them out. The reason they gave was to "promote diversity" of primary gun usage. The funny aspect in my mind is that everyone I play with now uses fewer primaries than before. I, for example, used to keep a firefly scout, one solar, one arc, and one void primary on me all the time to make sure I was prepared for whatever happened. Now that elemental primaries are gone, I use EXACTLY one primary for 99% of encounters. I feel confident that there are thousands that, like me, find it counterproductive given Bungie's intentions.
